I made this for Valentine's Day and other special occasions for my honey. I served with linguini noodles. I'll be making this again for an intimate New Year's Day dinner using a lobster tail and some additional lobster I purchased from a wholesale club.

Really Good!

My husband made this for the holidays. It was delicious. Instead of putting the lobster back in the shells, he put them in individual metal serving dishes. We would make this again for sure.

This recipe was good, but the nice thing about it was that it was really very quick and easy.

I used two lobster tails and 1 pund of medium shrimp. They were great using this recipe. I am now going to try and stuff some mushrooms with the same and...maybe add a little crab meat.

Less Onion

We love this receipe - have made it several times. It's easy to go overboard on the onion, and we add tobasco to the sauce.

Shrimp Thermidor

I used large shrimp rather than lobster, as my husband is not a lobster fan. It turned out very good. I would recommend some sort of side dish that has a butter/cream sauce in it to offset the meal. Otherwise, it can tend to be a bit dry.

Delicious!

I don't eat lobster but wanted to make a special receipe for my husband. As it was only for one person, I only used 1 lobster tail but I also used 4 prawns. When I sauteed the cooked lobster I added the cut up chunks of raw prawns and cooked them at the same time. I made the sauce the same as given in the receipe, no changes. My husband *loved* it and can't wait to have it again.

One of the best lobster recipes I've ever had if not the best. I added a little minced garlic and a little more Old Bay.

Excellent

I've tried a number of Rachel Ray's recipes and (1) I can rarely ever get anything done within 30 minutes and (2) some of the recipes are quite bland when prepared as directed, despite the usual claim of tasting like it was cooked all day. This, however, was fabulous. The only alteration was when my hand slipped while I was adding the Old Bay, and I ended up adding about twice as much as the recipe called for. How good is that? Awesome!

Overall this was a good recipe and the sauce was very good, but I felt the sauce masked the taste of the lobster. Next time, I think I will try a sauce with a less complex flavor for lobsters.

I made this for Valentines Day, and my boyfriend said it was the BEST lobster he had ever had. I absolutely agree--This was WELL worth the price of the lobster.

The presentation of this dish is great - looks a lot harder to make than it is. I used 2 lobster tails and 8 large shrimp (each shrimp cut in 2), kept the rest of the recipe as is except I added 1/2 teaspoon more Old Bay and a teaspoon of roasted garlic. We loved it!

Wonderful !!!!

The sauce was very rich and tasty, it begged to be served on a bed of pasta. I took a little creative control and added some precooked frozen shrimp (thawed and cut in half) to stretch it even further, replaced bed of greens with pasta and garnished with a healthy topping of chopped parsley.

perfect and romantic

I made this, along with filet mignon, for Valentine's day for my husband and I. This recipe sounds soooo impressive and is so easy. I used shrimp instead of lobster. It was rich, quick and flavorful.

Win Your Lover's Heart With This

Simple, fast and heavenly. Ditch the lobster shells. The sherry, old bay and white cheddar cheese give great depth of flavor-don't cheat on those. We steamed 2 8oz. tails, but kept the same amounts stated for the other ingredients (one can never have enough sauce). It was perfect paired with filet mignon, Rachael's heart-y salad and her roasted asparagus (omitted the tarragon leaves and tossed it with artichoke hearts and lemon juice when it came out of the oven). If you add champagne, candlelight, soft dinner music and a simple flower centerpiece, you might not need a dessert. We thank Rachael for another memorable Valentine's Day dinner/evening.

I loved this recipe. Very simple to make. I used extra sharp cheddar and that was a bit too much next time sharp cheddar should be good enough. Made it for Valentine's day and my husband loved it!

I made lobster tail thermidor for my boyfriend for valentine's day and he absolutely LOVED it! I altered the recipe slightly by adding a few cloves of pressed garlic and instead of using a dry white wine I used a sweeter white wine. The lobster tail went perfect with twice baked potatoes! It was the first time I ever worked with lobster and it wasn't that difficult. I would definitely make it again.

Scallops Too!

I tried this receipe with 2 lbs Large Sea Scallops--It was great!! I first marinated scallops in EVOO-(1/2C)/Garlic Pdr.(2-tea)/Onion Pdr.(1-tea)/Old Bay Seasoning(2-tea) for 2 hours. I then cooked scallops in a Heavy-large skillet pre-heated on HIGH for 2-3 minutes per side--then put into cassarole dish for broiling--as original receipe did for the cut up lobster. I served it spooned up on a plate with a BBQ grilled medium rare small top serloin steak & a baby greens and tangerine-segment salad with balsamic vinegar dressing---I'mmmm Goood!!

Simply Maahvellous!!

What a great taste! I made it this evening (Valentine's Day) for my lovely wife and she just loved the flavors (as did I). I followed the written recipe, except I discarded the shells and simply made a casserole from the cut-up lobster tails. We will definitely do this again.

Great Dish

This dish is really quite simple to make. I had a few lobster tails and decided to try this instead of just broiling them. Glad I did. It's a pleasantly rich dish, and for a little extra effort, a lot more complex flavor. Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.

I just made this dish tonight for a Valentine's Day dinner for my husband and I. It was excellent! I could not find the Old Bay seasoning so I substituted McCormick seafood seasoning. I also used a little more than the recipe called for. I also added a little more cheese. VERY GOOD!

Another great 30-min dish Rachel. I just cooked it for my honey tonight for Valentine's day and he loved it! I modified the dish by adding more than 1 seafood in it - I combined lobster meat, scallops, and shrimps. They tasted wonderful together. Thanks again!

For those of you who made this recipe without watching the program, she did not use the lobster shells in the casserole but rather just discarded them and used the cut-up lobster in the sauce, etc. which makes a ton more sense to me anyway. I plan to make this soon, but wanted to share the observation. I cannot imagine why the recipe even suggests keeping the shell for use in the casserole - sounds like a dumb idea to me.

Rich taste, easy to make, and even reheats well (without the shells). The hardest part is keeping the shells together, so if you get frustrated it makes a great casserole also!

Groovy schtuff! Took a chance on my very first 'intermediate' recipe after getting the lobster tails on sale, and floored my seafoodingly-challenged family. Didn't tinker a lot, except for lots of Old Bay, and I did sprinkle extra cheese on top of the bread crumbs before broiling. The dogs could only sniff and drool...
