Strawberry Liscious 12/04/2006 at 11:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: In the episode Giada says you could put it under the broiler if you dont have the brule' torch...it makes the strawberries mushy. When we bought the torch it was worlds better. We also combined the two recipes in this episode. Had same bread but instead of butter put Nutella. It was so good like Creme Brule' crust but with a whole lot more flavor underneath YUM 11/07/2004 at 08:50pm User: Anonymous User Rating: YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM chichi 11/05/2005 at 05:16pm User: CHRI from shelton, CT User Rating: Quick and easy the whole family loved it Very good! 10/28/2005 at 12:34pm User: cami from fort worth, TX User Rating: I made this for breakfast for my grandson & he loved it! Not the greatest 09/14/2006 at 05:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe sounded so good, but we didn't like it much. Wouldn't make it again. Wonderful 09/12/2006 at 12:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: So easy, and so good! Good with Bananas Too!! 08/22/2006 at 01:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I have been making this same recipe using bananas for over 20 years, using the butter, banana slices, sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon and the oven broiler! I used pistolettes (small french breads) cut in half for the bread when I don't have regular french bread. Strawberries are also yummy! Not Bad 08/03/2006 at 11:16am User: Katie from Edmond, OK User Rating: This almost tasted like toast with strawberry jam on it. It was good but I think I expected something different. I just made it for the second night in a row, and am seriously considering running back to the store tomorrow for more bread and strawberries. I made this for my Mother-in-Law for Mother's Day, and she now thinks I'm a culinary goddess. Very Yummy 04/19/2007 at 04:12pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is a favorite in our house. My husband and daughter love this when they come home from a long day. Delicious 03/30/2005 at 11:06am User: Anonymous User Rating: Really enjoyed the sandwhich. perfect dessert 03/26/2005 at 07:13pm User: CANDACE from Newport Beach, CA User Rating: excellent and easy! Very Good 03/19/2006 at 08:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Made these tonight but for some reason I couldn't get the sugar to carmelize using my husbands propane torch. The sugar just ended up very liquid. What am I doing wrong? I kept trying but the strawberries were starting to burn a bit on the edges. Have tried Giada's other recipes with much success but guess I need some pointers for this technique. Strawberry Delight 03/18/2006 at 10:06pm User: Kim from Greenwich, CT User Rating: It was so quick and neat to make. The kids gobbled it up as soon as it came out of the oven. In fact, they were trying to negotiate for more. This has become a family success when considering we all have such different tastes. Who knew bread and strawberries could taste out of this world! not good 03/07/2008 at 12:56am User: Kathy from Chippewa Falls, WI User Rating: I tried this recipe with high hopes (I LOVE strawberries and crusty bread and the combination sounded devine). I tried the broiler (don't have a blow torch), but the strawberries just tasted warm and mushy, I ended up throwing some of it out. Nice alternative to strawberry shortcake 02/26/2005 at 10:04am User: JIM from Hamden, CT User Rating: Another great way to way to enjoy the wonderful strawberry. This is easy to make and is quite tasty. I also tried it with blackberries. I'm hooked. |
