I was hesitant as I put it together because of the odd combination. I gave it a fair chance because sometimes the strangest seeming combinations are the best. This one struck out BIG TIME in textures and in flavors - it didn't make sense.

Surprised By How Delicious

it's a cake how can it be that bad???? I don't understand. It's cute too. Maybe you have to understand Kwanzaa to appreciate it.

This is a must have!

My first review was delted so I'm trying again. I thought this cake would be an interesting thing to take to our multi-cultural party at work. Well, needless to say this cake sat relatively untouched after the first person who tasted it almost gagged. I would recommend that you not waste your money on this concoction.

uncoordinated ingredients make this not tasty

all my guests came to same conclusion I did and that's this cake has strange ingredients. This item just did not go over well and I had 12 people at my home who agreed. I wish this had worked and felt badly for my guests and family

easy and good!

when I watched this show I thought this might be a good cake for a "change of pace", but after putting in together and serving I noe realize how much of a mistake I made. My guests all commented at the negative contrast in flavors. It's also overly sweet and has that "store purchased" after-taste. Avoid this and make your friends and family something yourself. They will praise you for going the extra mile!

many different tastes make for a bad cake

I gave it my best shot and it just didn't perform. Save your money and make something from scratch.

When we saw this cake on line it looked rather interestin

But when prepared in real life, it looked very sad. We didn't like the toppings nor the filling. It would have been better with out all the stuff. Plain angel food cake is preferred over this.

this was NOT good at all

the frosting tasted funny and the other ingredients didn't seem to go with cake. seeds, acorns and popcorn.

I tried this with an open mind

I don't think I will try this again. The frosting was too heavy for the angel food cake. The pie filling in the center didn't contribute well to this dish.

Flavor Combos Didn't Work

User: Eric from Seattle, WA    User Rating:
I like salty+chocolate as a combo, but this was just too sweet, and the apple/chocolate/salted corn/creamy/angel food grouping was . . . not right. The idea is interesting enough, but the super-sweet angel food cake didn't provide enough..heft...for the other ingredients. The texture was weirdly slick as well - I think it was the canned pie filling, but it's hard to tell. This one just wasn't a winner.
