I made this dessert for Christmas dinner, and everyone loved it. I did make the fudge sauce, and I added some Bailey's irish creme to the whipped cream. I will definitely make this again!

This was absolutely fabulous! So easy to prepare ahead of time, and so decadent! I would highly recommend this, and to make it extra special, serve it in large wine glasses with some powdered sugar sprinkled on top.

I made this twice this holiday, but I made the pound cake version of the chocolate cake. Recipe is usually on the box and calls for adding pudding, etc. Then, I did not worry that the dessert would be too moist if I made it ahead. I needed more whipped cream each time I made this, but I used a large trifle bowl. The fudge sauce is excellent.

This is a great recipe. I have made many times. I don't cook with alcohol and have just left it out entirely, with no substitutions. Tastes great! I like to make this with brownies instead of the cake. Everyone loves it.

This recipe is not only delicious, but very easy. In a pinch I have substituted store bought hot fudge and it still tastes delicious. However the hot fudge recipe is excellent! The presentation is great in a trifle bowl, however it still works well layered in a 13x9.

Yummy...

Really yummy recipe but I'm looking for an alternative to liquer. On the show, Paula used a liquid that wasn't alcoholic but didn't say what it was. Anyone have any ideas of what I can use? My kids don't like coffee flavor and I generally don't cook with alcohol.

What a great title for the episode! Should have been the name of this dessert! Oh! My Gracious! What a great and easy recipe. I make it often for home or work. It can be changed to anything you want based on your taste and that of your family. We love creamy desserts so I have added extra layers of chocolate puddings or butterscotch pudding or chocolate French cream or mousses or even alternate layers of choc and vanilla puddings. Try it, you or someone you love WILL love it!

I, like Paula, do love butter, fried chicken, whipped cream and mayo. I made this heavenly dessert after watching Paula's show two weeks ago. It was so easy and the results were outstanding. I shared half of the trifle with my next door neighbor who has two small boys. The next day she appeared at my front door with the bowl and a request for the receipt. The boy's thought angels had made the dish, but I had to tell them no, it was Paula Deen, who I believe has a little devil in her to come up with a receipt so wickedly wonderful.

OH WOW!!!!

Incredible dessert!! A huge hit at a family party. It is worth the time (and taste!) to make the homemade fudge sauce and whipped cream - only made it better. I used toffee bits and mini chips instead of the toffee candy bars and it was fantastic. This one I will keep in my recipe box - Thanks Paula!!!

The recipe was somewhat difficult but the end result was wonderful. There is an error in the recipe....the chocolate square is listed in the ingredients but not listed in the instructions as to what to do with it. It's easy enough to figure out but for a baby cook, it threw me.

I served this trifle for my mother-in-laws birthday party and it was a hit! I made the hot fudge sauce the day before (while I baked the cake) and kept it in the refrigerator. The sauce is so rich and thick it got very hard. Shortly before I was ready to put the trifle together, I slowly warmed fudge sauce up so I could pour it. I served it with coffee and, what else, shots of Kahula.
