I don't have a glamorous job. I work long hours and lots of them ensuring a massive data center has no failures. As a result I didn't have time to prep for a night on the town with my then "just a date" Kat. I decided instead to prepare this wonderful dish. Once you've made this you'll love the sweet shrimp and spicy sauce - And she did too. I credit this dish for causing lively conversation about food, family, and friends that night and as of next week (1 year and 7 months later) I'll be asking her to marry me! Guess what I'm making for dinner tonight just to butter her up? ;)

This was awesome and so easy to make. Tasted like something from a restaurant. I made it with the lemon spaghetti (from the episode) and caprese salad...it was a huge hit with my italian boyfriend who had seconds. I will definitely be making this again.

An excellent recipe. I take issue with the teaspoon of salt that is mixed with the shrimp before sauteeing. Omit tis step, and instead, just sprinkle a light amount over the batch. 1 teas. causes the shrimp to hold too much salt.

I can't say enough about how much my family LOVED this recipe, paired with the Lemon Spaghetti. With the exception of adding more crushed red pepper flakes than the recipe calls for (personal preference), I found the balance of seasonings to be perfect for both recipes. I was concerned about the amount of pasta water needed to make the Lemon Sauce because I used angel hair; but, possibly because I used Barilla Plus, the added fiber of the macaroni held up well to 1 full cup of the pasta water. This would make a very impressive "company meal"!

This recipe is perfect to make during the week when one does not have too much time to spend making dinner. I made the recipe EXACTLY as stated. It has a ton of flavor with few ingredients. I served this meal over whole wheat spaghetti and it was a good complement.

I made this dish after watching the recipe on tv. Very easy to make and the dish was very tasty. The recipe calls for 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes and I only put 1/2 teaspoon in. It was still very spicy - maybe next time I will put less in. I think you'll really enjoy it.

I was out of onion so I used leeks instead...which was nice... My husband doesn't like wine in his food, so I used vegetable broth...it still turned out good and the picky family liked it. Especially topped with freshly grated parm. Reggiano.

my boyfriend and I made this tonight and it turned out great! the amount of heat from the red pepper was perfect (a little much for me, but perfect for him). There was a little too much liquid for our taste, so next time we might use a little less wine. We will definately make it again!!

For a long while I had been trying to convince my husband that shrimp could taste wonderful cooked in some sort of red sauce. I never would make anything of the sort since I wasn't sure myself what kind of red sauce and other ingredients to cook it with. When I found this recipe I knew it was the one. I loved this recipe and so did my boyfriend! It has so much taste and is pretty healthy. I cut the garlic in half and it was still great for those of us that are sensitized to garlic. I think that next time I might double the tomatoes as well! Great recipe!

For two reasons: 1. It is delicious over whole wheat angel hair pasta. 2. Extremely Healthy. I will be making this often. I used Pinot Grigio for the white wine but vermouth would have worked well. Amazing dish, and I highly recommend this. Thanks Gorgeous!

I made this dish last night with the lemon pasta. It was really good, but i can't seem to not overcook the shrimp, they were a bit tough. Thought there would be too much red pepper flakes so only used half and it could have used more of a kick. Overall, I would make this recipe again. But next time I will serve it over polenta instead of pasta.

I tweaked the recipe a little. I added a fresh chopped tomato to the dish and tossed a little romano cheese on top. I put the shrimp on top of linguine. My boyfriend and I loved the red pepper flakes, we like it spicy.

I have made this several times. I usually use shrimp and orange roughy but have also made it with shrimp & scallops which is particularly delicious. My kids are picky so I puree the tomato, garlic & onion after cooking the onion & garlic until tender. This would be great to serve to company.

This was so easy and my husband loved it. He said it was a 9 on a scale of one to 10. I servied it over rice. I would make this for a dinner party as you can do the prep before you guests arrive and it only takes about 20 or 30 minutes to make once they arrive.

Excellent taste, very easy preparation and the presentation was great too. This is the best pasta dish I have ever had including from Olive Garden or any other resturant. Who needs to go out for Italian Pasta when you can make something like this right at home with awesome flavor. I used Dandelion wine in place of the white wine because that is what I had on hand and it was totally to die for. Great dish Giada!

This was great. I put the shrimp shells in the wine and microwaved them. I strained the wine before adding to the recipe. The shrimp shells added more shrimp flavor. I also tossed spaghetti in the sauce and served it with the shrimp. The sauce was great. I plann to make it again for company.

i followed the recipe exactly and it came out great... i thought the red pepper was a nice touch. no one complained about it being too spicy so i might add a little more next time. great over pasta or by itself. just make sure you have plenty of bread to soak the juices up!

i read the reviews and it said to hold back on the red pepper flakes and lemon, so i did .. but i think it would have actually tasted better if i did follow the instructions exactly .. it wasnt spicy at all , and i cant handle spicy foods ... but it was still really good and i also tried it with the lemon spaghetti and that was good too . but when i made it, i didnt add wine, but next time i will and it will probably be even better . you have to try this . it was really good ... looked really professional for a beginner like me .

This is an all-time favorite of mine. It looks and tastes like it must have been difficult, but it's so easy. Even my hard-to-please stepdad and toddler love it. I always have left-over lemon spaghetti. It's great on it's own or with chicken piccata.

I dont think I made this completely right but it still turned out WONDERFUL. I didnt cut the onions in strips but I think it would of tasted better that way. My husband LOVED the shrimp and sauce but he's not fond of tomatoes, so if ur husband doesnt like tomatoes 1/2 the dish is comprised of that. Overall I loved the dish!

I find it really challenging to cook for my husband because rarely do we agree on what's good. Well, for about the first time, we both agreed after the first bite that this dish is delicious! We put it over the Lemon Spagetti (we made it with whole wheat noodles). I was even in a hurry and didn't mince my garlic as well as I should have and I was out of some of the fresh herbs and parmasean cheese, but it was still wonderful! I cannot wait to make it again. It was fast, easy and "restaurant-quality"! Thanks Giada!

Made this for dinner last night because I wanted something quick. Our market currently had shelled and deveined shrimp on sale so that made the preparation even faster. I agree with other reveiwers about the red pepper flakes...1 tsp would have over powered the dish...I used about half that amount. I served this over linguine and sprinkled parmesan reggiano over it.

This is a wonderful sauce. Just be sure to serve it over a light pasta (linguini, bucatini, spaghetti, etc). The wine needs to be a dry one for proper acidic "bite".

I liked the flavor. Good mix of spices. I'm not sure that the tomato-based sauce went well with the shrimp. The shrimp was kind of salty, and the sauce made it seem even saltier. I'm glad I tried it. The dish was OK. I liked it, but I don't like it that much that I'm going to make this again any time soon.

I used jumbo shrimp. I marinated and grilled the them using Bobby Flay's "Grilled Shrimp with Garlic-Red Chile-Thyme Marinade" recipe, and tossed the shrimp into Giada's finished sauce. WOW!! Talk about a spectacular meal! Everyone raved. I really love "diavolo" so I added 1/2 teaspoon cayenne. A scrumptious tongue burner!

I made this meal last night for my husband and parents and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it! It was so easy to make! I did make a few modifications, I added a 28 oz. can of tomatoes and drained some of the juice so the dish wasn't so "watery" and I also added more red pepper flakes for more of a bite. This recipes is SUPER simple. I used frozen shrimp that were already peeled and deveined so all I had to do was pull the tails off. I didn't have any fresh herbs and it was still wonderful.. so I'm sure it would be even tastier with the fresh basil and parsley!
