I got rave reviews. gooey 12/26/2005 at 01:50pm User: Nancy from Pinckney, MI User Rating: This was simple to make but the bottom of the crust was gooey and you almost had to let it dry out after it was cooked. Delicious!!! 12/22/2005 at 09:07pm User: CINDY from HOPE MILLS, NC User Rating: This recipe was easy and quite good. I had my kids help me and they enjoyed eating it!! Out of this world! 12/20/2006 at 08:02pm User: shellie from hendersonville, TN User Rating: Se easy, but looks like you really spent a lot of time on this quick dessert! I absolutely loved it! Interesting Bars 12/18/2007 at 11:19am User: Tami from North Bend, WA User Rating: I made these in a pinch for a holiday party dessert and was a bit disappointed. The flavor was really lacking. Add more jam than you think you need- I think that was part of my mistake. They were kind of bland too- next time I might sprinkle a bit of grahm cracker over the top with the nuts as well. Just needs more flavor. On an upnote- they look really beautiful. I sprinkled powdered sugar over them and they looked bakery perfect. Raspberry Cake Bars 12/13/2005 at 05:51pm User: June L from Castle Shannon, PA User Rating: Excellent, easy, delicious Bars are always a hit! 11/26/2005 at 02:54am User: cindy from lk ronk, NY User Rating: Love these bars and there so simple to make - If you follow directions exactly they come out perfect. good 11/22/2007 at 03:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: on a scale from 1 to 53 this would be a modest 37 1/2. Needs to be alot sweeter!!!! just add about 1 7/9 cup of pure hawaiian cane sugar (if its not hawaiian in wont work!!!!). this should sweeten it up nicely! enjoy your holiday everyone!!!! Just buy a box of lemon bar mix instead! 10/29/2005 at 11:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I must be a glutton for punishment, I keep trying this silly woman's recipes! This was nasty, and I agree with the majority of the other reviewers, WAAAAAY too sweet! Instead of wasting time with this recipe, go buy a bok of lemon bars and make them ~ I think they actuially come in a raspberry flavor now, too; and I guarantee they will taste much better!!!!! So GOOD!! 10/28/2005 at 11:03am User: Barbara from winchester, VA User Rating: These were so tasty. I made them for a tailgate party and everyone loved them! Entirely too sweet 10/27/2005 at 05:40am User: Anonymous User Rating: I think I'd like to spread my sugar consumption around a bit and not blow the whole thing on a substandard baked good using pre-fab chemical dough and jam. sweet schmeet 10/26/2005 at 10:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these with my daughter today, and they were the best. Too sweet, PISHAW....gimme sweet instead of sour pusses anyday. I thought I might be the only one 10/26/2005 at 05:36am User: Celesia from Portland, ME User Rating: Who found this way too sweet. Semi-homemade is one thing but far too much sugar is another. Tossed the whole batch. Not even my 9 year old would eat it and you know they'll eat anything that's sweet. Easy & delicious 10/06/2007 at 10:05pm User: Jane from Pensacola , FL User Rating: These bars are so good and so easy to prepare. If you like raspberry anything, you will love. I used preserves and added a little extra. VERY DRY 09/12/2006 at 04:53pm User: Mitos from Deer Harbor, WA User Rating: Very dry and too sweet. I found a better recipe on another site. Foil Issues and Peach Rules 08/10/2007 at 09:10am User: Stephanie from Havertown, PA User Rating: I watched Alton Brown make fudge using a similar method of lining the pan so I figured it would work well. It would have been a much better idea to line the pan with 2 sheets of foil so that you could pull up on 4 sides of the pan. Instead I spent of good amount of time trying to disengage little bits of foil from the 2 sides that weren't the "handles." Also, I made two batches, one with raspberry jam and one with peach preserves, and the peach was superior by far. Yummy 07/23/2006 at 08:37pm User: JILL from Massapequa, NY User Rating: My family and friends love this recipe! I have made it many times. Once I doubled the recipe and used half with raspberry preserves and half with blueberry. It was a big hit! My family now request me to make this for them over and over. I have also given out this recipe to a few friends. Great job Sandra! More Please! 07/18/2007 at 10:21pm User: KIMBERLEY from Orange, CA User Rating: This is an amazing recipe. I have tried it with all different types of jams, my favorite is cherry and I substituted pecans for the walnuts. My guests all say more please. This truly a keeper. They are quick, easy and good. Great easy fruit bars 02/12/2006 at 12:42am User: Anonymous User Rating: The lemon extract and pecans added such wonderful flavor. I loved the easy idea of kneading the extract into the dough. It's an easy semi-homemade idea to use often with other flavorings! Delicious and easy breezy! 02/09/2006 at 10:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was extremely simple but turned out like it came straight from a bakery. Just how I like it! Raspberry Cake Bars 02/08/2006 at 02:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Raspberry cake bars are wonderful, this recipe however isnt but she is so close. I mean what is up with kneading in lemon extract? America's Test Kitchen, on PBS, has a cookbook with a recipe that is just as easy, cheaper, and produces a way better product in the end. Plus you can take credit for the dish. IF you really cant cook ATK is the way to go. They even do taste tests, and test... and triple check all recipes to get them just right. There is a better way. just good 02/07/2006 at 10:57pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The pecans, lemon extract and raspberry jam cut down on the sweetness of the sugar cookie dough. Not that I don't like sweet stuff, but these are so good. And I just didn't think they were too sweet as other reviewers have mentioned. They are sweet enough though! I wouldn't want savory dessert bars anyway. Thanks for a wonderful and easy recipe :) Easy and Great! 02/06/2006 at 04:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these and they turned out great! You can use any jam, I used strawberry and my husband loved them. It didn't take any time to make. Adding jam to sugar cookie dough 02/06/2006 at 03:50am User: Anonymous User Rating: makes the dough chewy, fruity and delish! entirely delicious! 02/05/2006 at 09:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is the best easiest recipe. These cake bars are to die for! You can use any kind of jam or jelly, if you don't like raspberry. I bet lemon curd would be good too. Loved them! Disaster 02/04/2006 at 05:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The Raspberry Bars were a flop. I followed the directions to a tee. Once they came out of the over, I look them coll completely before cutting them and they crumbled all over. very, very, very, very, VERY, 02/02/2006 at 10:24pm User: Anonymous User Rating: yummy!!! Taste great, but not as shown in the program 02/01/2006 at 11:03pm User: MElissa from The Woodlands, TX User Rating: Just made these, and they are great, but I followed the recipe and then went back and watched the show a 2nd time, and she mixes a few things up. For instance, she adds the pecans after the second layer of dough in the recipe, but in the show she adds them before. Also, she uses one whole package of dough for the bottom layer in the show, and only 2/3rds in the recipe. Either way, they turned out great! Dry but otherwise good 01/31/2006 at 02:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Tasted good but they were a bit dry Delicious 01/30/2006 at 09:37pm User: Bonita from Gaffney, SC User Rating: I used a very thin layer of cherry jam instead of rasberry and my whole family loved them. They were slightly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. The toasted pecans added just the right amount of crunch. They were so easy and quick to make also. Thanks. RC bars 01/29/2006 at 03:55am User: Anonymous User Rating: I used a little less lemon extract for these, because I wanted to taste the raspberry mostly. They are very very very good! Not to sweet at all. Next time I make these I'm going to dust them with powdered sugar. The nuts were a great addition. Thx for an easy, yummy recipe! Will be making again and again 01/28/2006 at 06:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great idea!! You can use any kind of jam. I didn't have raspberry on hand, so I used apricot. They were so good. I'll try the raspberry next. awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 01/28/2006 at 11:48am User: karen from hialeah, IL User Rating: very flavorful dish she a awsome cook! keep it up! really raspberry 01/23/2006 at 01:03am User: Anonymous User Rating: such a hit. thanks!
