I'm incredibly happy with this dish! Making this marked the first time I ever brought food I actually made to a potluck. Before this, I've always just let my mom take care of things in that department. I hope it's a big success at the potluck! Although my mom is mildly skeptical because I ended up adding quite bit more garlic than the recipe suggests. XD I think it's delicious so, even if people find it too garlic-y then I'll eat it for sure!

A new family favorite

I made this the same day that I watched her make it on her show from memory. It has become a family favorite with my husband and two children. It has also become "the recipe" for my cousin, sister and friends to make when they want to impress without having to make too much fuss prepping it. You can also substitute spinach for the basil for an equally tasty recipe.

I've made this several times this summer with my fresh basil. My finicky husband LOVES it, as do I. One recommendation (as a garlic-lover) is to reduce the garlic from two cloves to one - or to two small cloves. Leftovers are as good as, or better than, the first serving! This was my first Giada recipe, and I'm so looking forward to trying more.

My fiance (soon to be husband in a month) who hates sundried tomatoes....loves this dish! Just finishing grad school and jumping straight into my career has been hectic..but I love to cook- this really is quick to make and gives me more time to spend with my honey. Everyone should make it once--you wont go wrong!

This was pretty good but could have been better. I used linguine and I think the penne been better and lighter. Also, the garlic really stands out so I would only use one clove (and I love garlic!) I also added toasted pine nuts which I chopped and artichoke for some texture. Next time I will make it with chicken.

So easy, so yummy! FYI, Trader Joe's has a perfect jar of sundried tomatoes for this one (and no, I do not work for them or know anyone who does!), and is actually packed in olive oil - all the other jars I found at Harris Teeter and Shopper's Club were packed in sunflower or canola oil - and too much of it. Also, real, fresh-grated Parm-Regg makes a big difference in this recipe. I tried making it once with regular pre-grated Parmesan from the deli case and it wasn't nearly as good.

Excellent!

Giada scores again with this one. It's so quick, easy, so tasty, and cheap.. with plenty of very tasty leftovers for my husband and I. The sauce is literally done before your pasta is finished cooking. I did add a handful of pine nuts to the food processor because, to me, pesto isnt pesto without pine nuts, and it is so delicious. Will make this again, and often!

I love the idea of changing traditional pesto. I added pinenuts to the sauce and tossed the pasta and sauce with bite-size pieces of fresh mozzarella. My only words of caution are to try it with one clove of garlic before adding another, it can be pretty over powering even if you are a garlic lover.

Preparation and presentation were easy and satisfying for this dish. Yet, no matter how pleasing a dish is to the eye, if it lacks in taste it lacks overall. The taste and texture of this dish is unwelcoming to the tongue. I am upset that I wasted time and efoort on this dish.

I wasn't all that impressed and it made a huge amount--just the two of us. What to do? I took the remainder, added frozen meatball and Hunts spaghetti sauce with mushrooms, mixed it all together in a large greased casserole, covered and cooked at 350 for about 45 min. - until it started bubbling. Topped with parm. cheese. Delicious! Guess our tastes are very pedesterian.

This is an unusual dish with a sophisticated taste. Those in my family who like pesto loved it; others who like plainer fare didn't. It is easy to make with the help of a food processor. While I wouldn't want to eat it very often, it was a nice change and something that I will keep on file for occasional use.

The pesto had quite a wang when I tasted it prior to adding the pasta so I pulled out about half & then added the pasta. I was still very dubious but it was Yummy! I do think all the pseto might have been overwhelming. My husband threw it together for me (I had pre-made the pesto) & you know how men are about reading directions ;o), he neglected to moisten it w/ the pasta liquid. It was still very good. I will use the leftover pesto on toast tonight w/ dinner.
