Very good! 07/06/2008 at 07:13pm User: MICHELLE from Cold Spring, KY User Rating: My husband and I both thought this was very flavorful. It was also very easy to make. Memories! 07/03/2008 at 07:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm incredibly happy with this dish! Making this marked the first time I ever brought food I actually made to a potluck. Before this, I've always just let my mom take care of things in that department. I hope it's a big success at the potluck! Although my mom is mildly skeptical because I ended up adding quite bit more garlic than the recipe suggests. XD I think it's delicious so, even if people find it too garlic-y then I'll eat it for sure! A new family favorite 06/25/2008 at 07:29pm User: Rupa from Hyattsville, MD User Rating: I made this the same day that I watched her make it on her show from memory. It has become a family favorite with my husband and two children. It has also become "the recipe" for my cousin, sister and friends to make when they want to impress without having to make too much fuss prepping it. You can also substitute spinach for the basil for an equally tasty recipe. Fast, Easy and tastes Great 06/24/2008 at 06:07pm User: Edward from Houston, TX User Rating: This is the only meatless dish I really enjoy making and eating being a meat and potato person. This has become a staple in our diet. easy and versatile 05/26/2008 at 10:00am User: Anonymous User Rating: I've made this dish again and again for a quick weeknight dinner or picnic and potluck fare. Quick & Easy! 08/09/2007 at 04:28pm User: Andrea from Bath, MI User Rating: This dish is great! It's easy to whip up and it tastes great! You can add chicken, tofu, vegetables, etc., and still have a quick and easy meal. was good! 08/06/2007 at 02:58pm User: joi from beacon falls, CT User Rating: I think I used an off tasting brand of sundried tomatoes..otherwise this would have been fabulous. Perfect use for sundried tomatoes 08/01/2007 at 07:45am User: Robert from Collingswood, NJ User Rating: Easy recipe with lots of taste. Brings the delicious concentrated taste of tomatoes to a wonderful bowl of pasta. Simple and Amazing! 07/25/2007 at 10:07pm User: Erin from Maineville, OH User Rating: I've made this several times this summer with my fresh basil. My finicky husband LOVES it, as do I. One recommendation (as a garlic-lover) is to reduce the garlic from two cloves to one - or to two small cloves. Leftovers are as good as, or better than, the first serving! This was my first Giada recipe, and I'm so looking forward to trying more. Simple, Easy and Tastey 07/25/2007 at 01:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is such a great meal. It is super quick...and soooo good. I am italian and I am very picky about italian dishes. This Meal is out of the world. My fiance (soon to be husband in a month) who hates sundried tomatoes....loves this dish! Just finishing grad school and jumping straight into my career has been hectic..but I love to cook- this really is quick to make and gives me more time to spend with my honey. He loved this! Will definitely make again. A big hit with all. so good 06/07/2007 at 07:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: delicious! Quick, Easy, and TASTY 06/06/2007 at 09:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: quick, easy, and tasty Quick and Tasty 06/06/2007 at 08:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I read this recipe and realized I had a jar of sundried pesto (Classico) in my pantry. I threw this together in 10 minutes, but I will look forward to making the pesto next time as it was excellent and a nice change with the sundried tomatoes Suggestions 06/03/2007 at 11:13pm User: Aili from Los Angeles, CA User Rating: This was pretty good but could have been better. I used linguine and I think the penne been better and lighter. Also, the garlic really stands out so I would only use one clove (and I love garlic!) I also added toasted pine nuts which I chopped and artichoke for some texture. Next time I will make it with chicken. Yummy! 06/01/2007 at 01:01am User: Pat from Colleyville, TX User Rating: This is one of the most flavorful dishes I have ever made that was this easy. So good and reheats well too. Pat - Colleyville so easy! 05/31/2007 at 05:27pm User: Kathryn from pleasanton, CA User Rating: this is a good recipe, but the best thing about it is how easy it is. the hardest part is getting out the food processor. my two-year-old ate it, my husband ate it, so it was a success. Very Good 05/29/2007 at 06:44pm User: Karen from Barrington, IL User Rating: Loved this recipe. Never added the pasta water before, but that is a great idea. Adds flavor and moisture. Would definitely make again. Delicious 05/25/2007 at 10:29am User: Megan from Oviedo, FL User Rating: The sun-dried tomato pesto was awesome!! sun dried tomatoes 05/23/2007 at 09:38am User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a wonderful dish however it didn't have as much flavor as i'd like it to have.. I like my foods to have a kick in each bite. I did add chopped, cooked chicken breasts and some spicy sausage. very good but needed some kick 05/16/2007 at 12:08am User: sadia from Astoria, NY User Rating: The penne by itself was a little too bland for me. So I added crushed red pepper flakes to the penne and added an extra clove of garlic in the pesto. It was delicious. pesto 05/15/2007 at 10:40am User: Anonymous User Rating: Great! tasty sun-dried tomato pesto 05/14/2007 at 03:31pm User: Liesl from Albany, OR User Rating: Thus far I have never met a pesto I didn't like! This one strikes me as a really great picnic dish as it does well at room temperature. Giada's recipes are the most consistently good! I make this constantly! 05/10/2007 at 11:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: So easy, so yummy! FYI, Trader Joe's has a perfect jar of sundried tomatoes for this one (and no, I do not work for them or know anyone who does!), and is actually packed in olive oil - all the other jars I found at Harris Teeter and Shopper's Club were packed in sunflower or canola oil - and too much of it. Also, real, fresh-grated Parm-Regg makes a big difference in this recipe. I tried making it once with regular pre-grated Parmesan from the deli case and it wasn't nearly as good. Excellent! 05/06/2007 at 05:28pm User: Kari from Bossier City, LA User Rating: This recipe was really, really simple, easy, and delicious!!! After making it the first time, for me, there was too much basil. But other than that, I wouldn't tweak a thing (except to add red pepper for some heat!) TERRIBLE - DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME 05/05/2007 at 04:27pm User: Heather from Riverside, CA User Rating: I normally love everything made on this show; this is the exception! There was WAY too much basil and not near enough other flavors. It was not a pretty dish to serve. I made this alongside Giada's recipe for Roast Chicken in Balsamic Viniagrette and it was EXCELLENT! Way to go Giada! w/ bow tie pasta, toasted pine nuts, goat cheese 04/22/2007 at 02:36pm User: julie from alexandria, VI User Rating: I made w/ bow tie pasta, toasted pine nuts, goat cheese the 2nd time and it was even better! It's so quick, easy, so tasty, and cheap.. with plenty of very tasty leftovers for my husband and I. The sauce is literally done before your pasta is finished cooking. I did add a handful of pine nuts to the food processor because, to me, pesto isnt pesto without pine nuts, and it is so delicious. Will make this again, and often! JB from Indy 04/20/2007 at 02:59am User: joe from taylorsville, IN User Rating: Fantastic Also great with angel hair quick & easy & yummy 04/18/2007 at 08:54am User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was quick and easy to make and tasted great (tasted even better the next day). YUM! So easy, So delicious! 04/10/2007 at 01:29am User: DAWN from Santa Rosa, CA User Rating: I did alter this recipe, just a little. I often find sun dried tomatoes a little overpowering, so I added some mascarpone cheese which softens up the taste of sun dried tomatoes a little and used less oil. It was delicious! Rufous 04/08/2007 at 05:50pm User: Eva from Eureka, CA User Rating: Fantastic receipe. Makes you want to continue to eat more. Thanks! It was very simple to make, but mine didn't look like Giada's, and it tasted pretty blah. After reading all these good comments, I am wondering if I justed goofed, although I can't imagine how...it's so simple. Hmm... maybe I'll try again. Great Start 10/21/2006 at 09:57pm User: Shana from Miwaukee, WI User Rating: I love the idea of changing traditional pesto. I added pinenuts to the sauce and tossed the pasta and sauce with bite-size pieces of fresh mozzarella. My only words of caution are to try it with one clove of garlic before adding another, it can be pretty over powering even if you are a garlic lover. Thanks, Giada. great for picky eaters 10/10/2006 at 06:10pm User: Patricia from Sun Prairie, WI User Rating: I love to cook and try new things but my boyfriend is a picky eater. He'll try almost anything I make. I thought for sure this would be a flop for him because he doesn't like parm cheese to top it off. But he loved it and said I could make it again which I am doing to night plus supper easy. Great 08/14/2006 at 08:42pm User: Jack from Roanoke, VA User Rating: This dish was just wonderful. disapointing penne 08/14/2006 at 05:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Preparation and presentation were easy and satisfying for this dish. Yet, no matter how pleasing a dish is to the eye, if it lacks in taste it lacks overall. The taste and texture of this dish is unwelcoming to the tongue. I am upset that I wasted time and efoort on this dish. sunny delight 08/09/2006 at 01:40pm User: Dennis from Valley City, ND User Rating: Easy to make. Very flavorful. Thanks Giada OK - not great 05/19/2006 at 05:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I wasn't all that impressed and it made a huge amount--just the two of us. What to do? I took the remainder, added frozen meatball and Hunts spaghetti sauce with mushrooms, mixed it all together in a large greased casserole, covered and cooked at 350 for about 45 min. - until it started bubbling. Topped with parm. cheese. Delicious! Guess our tastes are very pedesterian. Yummy! 05/18/2006 at 10:26am User: Kristen from Crystal Lake, IL User Rating: This was super easy and super yummy! A great weeknight supper. Tasty 05/17/2006 at 10:43pm User: Janet from St. George, UT User Rating: This is an unusual dish with a sophisticated taste. Those in my family who like pesto loved it; others who like plainer fare didn't. It is easy to make with the help of a food processor. While I wouldn't want to eat it very often, it was a nice change and something that I will keep on file for occasional use. I used some of my homegrown basil that I had frozen and it was beautiful and quite tasty. It makes enough for a LOT of pasta. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. :-) Excellent 01/30/2006 at 04:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It was just such a simple recipe to make, and it tasted great. Quick meal 01/28/2006 at 09:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: For an extra treat, smear a bit of extra pesto over garlic bread. Wow! 01/24/2006 at 10:44am User: cami from fort worth, TX User Rating: The pesto had quite a wang when I tasted it prior to adding the pasta so I pulled out about half & then added the pasta. I was still very dubious but it was Yummy! I do think all the pseto might have been overwhelming. My husband threw it together for me (I had pre-made the pesto) & you know how men are about reading directions ;o), he neglected to moisten it w/ the pasta liquid. It was still very good. I will use the leftover pesto on toast tonight w/ dinner. A Hit! 01/21/2006 at 04:15am User: Rebecca from Dallas, TX User Rating: Served this on the side with the chicken to my South Beach diet friends and others - all ate it up (can use only small amount of pasta) and all wanted the recipe. Very delish. Can be very versatile for other serving ideas. Froze what remained and it was so good stirred with little mozarella balls. It could even be served to company because the presentation is gorgeous! I always add chicken when I make it and I think salmon would be quite yummy with it as well. I do think that it could use a bit more garlic, about 3 or 4 cloves. Other than that it is a perfect recipe and I will be using it often! Thanks!
