It was so easy to make and it tasted so great! It looks and tastes like something out of a restaurant but takes so little time to make! Everyone loved it and raved about the salad too!

Very good

I adores the sauce.. very very tasty and nice that it was so easy. I didn't use my electric grill because I don't like it, so I baked this with sauce. I think I over baked the fish a bit because it was a tad dry. next time I will keep a better eye on my salmon AND make extra sauce to serve with the fish after it has been cooked because it was sooo good.

Fantastic Combo of Flavors

User: D from Somewhere, CA    User Rating:
This recipe is easy to make and has an amazing combo of flavors - the somewhat sweet barbecue sauce ( which would be good with chicken or pork too) and the more tangy citrus based vinaigrette. This would be an excellent dish for guests, and, as Rachael promises, can be made in 30 minutes ( and it really can, although I let the sauce simmer longer to more concentrate the flavors).

I hate fish! Hate Hate Hate fish! But I know that it's good for you and I am trying to force myself to eat it 2 times a week. This was WONDERFUL. Fish still isn't my favorite thing, however, made this way it makes it bareable for me. I actually really enjoyed it! My very picky son even loved it. Thanks Rachael for making fish not such a bad thing!

Wow! My husband and I have never liked salmon, however, after he went fishing and brought back a few large salmon fillets, we tried this recipe. It looks great on the plate and tastes even better! My husband really liked the salad dressing. We will make this one again!

this salad dressing is great!

Too sweet
07/16/2005 at 09:27pm
User: LINDA from Plano, TX    User Rating:
To me this was way too sweet and I only used about 1/3 of the marinade on 4 fillets. DH liked it less than me. To be fair, I was out of real maple syrup and used a plain maple flavored syrup so perhaps that is why it was so sweet. I might try this again with real syrup and use half because there was a good flavor in there trying to come out, but the sweetness covered it.

YUM-O!!!!!

You can't go wrong with this dish. The salmon was very tasty. The glaze was a perfect compliment. The ingredients to the vinaigrette worried me a little, especially the tarragon. When I tasted the viniagrette by itself, I wasn't too pleased. BUT... when you put everything together (salmon/glaze and romaine/dressing) the flavors were awesome. I have made this 2x already this month. Thanks Rachel for another delicious and simple recipe!

Great Grill Meal

I have used this sauce on the outside grill with salmon, chicken, pork and even shrimp. The sauce works. My guests thought I was crazy "burning" the lettuce but changed their mind when they tasted the results. I grilled peach halves with the lettuce and it worked great with the dressing.

I did not have high expectations for this recipe at first because I am not a huge salmon lover. I did use sugar free syrup. All I have to say is WOW! Not only is it flavorful, light and healthy, but it is truly a 30 minute entree. You can get this dish on the plate in no time!

Sorry, Rachel, we didn't like the bbq sauce for the salmon. My local market doesn't sell liquid smoke so maybe that's what it was missing. We ended up just grilling our salmon with some cajun seasonings and EVOO.

If I had known how easy it is to make my own barbecue sauce, I'd have been making it years ago! The grilled salmon is a breeze--just oil your grill and salt the fish. But the sauce is so basic and delicious. I can't wait to experiment with it and come up with my own variations.

Without a doubt, This is the best salmon recipe ever! I made it with Wild Alaskan King Salmon. I didn't make the salad though. I served it with a tossed salad and Cajun red beans and rice. Easy to make right on the Webber. Try it you will not be disappointed!!

thanks!

Since it is so hot in Texas, I've been trying to find recipes to grill out. This is fabulous! I can't even describe how good the glaze for the salmon is. Also, I think my husband thought it was kind of weird to grill lettuce, but he definitely changed his mind. This recipe is a keeper!

What a great combination of flavors in the glaze for the fish. I found that it is really good when you let the sauce reduce down to a thick consistency. This one is a keeper.

Sounded wierd, but when Rachel says "trust me"--trust her. This is terrific, and easy. I can't wait to try it on chicken. I bet it's wonderful. The salad dressing is extremely good also, the combinantion of citrus and tarragon is perfect. Definately makes a great lite salad for hot summer nights.

This was absolutely fabulous. The only problem that I had with this recipe is that there wasn't enough. Everyone in my family, including my 3 1/2 year old, couldn't get enough of it. Totally Awesome! This will definitely become part of my regular rotation and it took way less than 30 minutes to make! Thank Rachel!

I'm not a big fish fan, but this was pretty good. The acidity from the vinaigrette on the romaine balanced well with the sweet fish. Cooking it indoors made the house smell for a few days though, but whatcha gonna do? The flavor reminded me of foods my mom(chinese) used to cook.

Even "fish-haters" love it!

I prepared these recipes for the first Friday of Lent for a large family gathering! Even this group of people who recoil from having to eat any fish wanted the receipe. "This is the best salmon I've ever eaten!" our 80-year-old aunt said. The grilled romaine and excellent dressing was a hit, too.

User: Mark from Tuckahoe, NY    User Rating:
I made this for Thanks Giving instead of a turkey, and nobody missed it. This was just plain awesome, and the best salmon I can remember. The only change I made was to broil it, which made it even simpler, and I didn't do the charred letuce. Some people liked the citrus sauce some prefered it plain. The only problem you will have with this is having enough!

Outstanding!
