My young children loved this recipe. I cut out some of the spicy by using regular ketchup and american cheese. I also made 6 patties instead of 4. I will surely make this again

Very moist, flavorful burger!

User: Christine from Middletown, DE    User Rating:
Very flavorful burgers, however, if you don't like spicy food, don't bother. I think the blend of seasonings was perfect. You may need to adjust to your own taste though. Those who said they were dry obviously don't know how to cook a burger! They are incredibly moist and very filling! I didn't have any pepper jelly, but we put BBQ sauce on ours and it was a great compliment.

Yum-O

These are absolutely the best turkey burgers we have ever had. They have become a bi-weekly event in our house! We use mayo and dijon mustard and parsley and leave out the pepper relish/jelly and cilantro. Top with tomatoe and lettuce.

No More Beef!

User: James from Indianapolis, IN    User Rating:
I stopped eating beef and pork a couple months ago so we tried this recipe. It's fabulous! The veggies in the meat keep it moist and flavorful. I make this for me, my girlfriend, and roommate at least once a month. [TIP: If you find it too spicy, substitue the pepperjack cheese. The peppers in the recipe really don't make it too spicy]

Surprisingly easy to make IF you have all the ingredients on hand. The best part about burger recipes is that once you make them a few times, you can wing it from there.

These had amazing flavor! I put them on whole wheat buns and they were great. I couldnt find the red pepper relish or jelly so I used olive tampenade which is all I could find. They were good with that too! Definitely a keeper.

I love these burgers!

Great Turkey Burger

User: Rebecca from High Point, NC    User Rating:
My husband is a a burger lover, but, we've had to cut down on his red meat consumption. I was trying to find a way to really jazz up a turkey burger. This fit the bill! It had a ton of flavor! I will cut down on the cilantro a little bit next time because it had such a strong taste in the burger. Really good served along with some oven baked fries.

These were surprisingly good. They had great spice, really tasty, and I even left off the bacon. I took a survey and everyone at my party raved about them and all preferred them over the beef cheeseburgers we also made. Definitely will make again (maybe even tonight)

When I made this, I doubled the turkey and left the spices and veggies as the recipe orginally called for. Good thing I did! You could barely tell they were turkey. Although the spices tasted great togther, they were just over powering.

I love red meat, my husband does not. This recipe is a great alternative to red meat. What a wonderful burger. Great spices. It took a little longer than 30 minutes to prepare, but WELL worth it. I make them almost every weekend now.

I followed the recipe for the burger itself exactly except for the hot sauce and we loved them. I didn't use anything on the burger except for a big slice of tomato. So delicious and healthy. I'm so glad to have found this recipe. Thank you Rachael!

User: Mary from Mascoutah, IL    User Rating:
I have been dieting for a while, so I've been subbing ground turkey and chicken for beef in a lot of recipes. I found this and tried it and LOVED it! I even used the same ingredients with ground chicken and beef, and the results were just as great. The burgers are moist and packed with flavor -- and the veggies aren't too crunchy if you make sure to dice them up well. I would recommend this to anyone who is on the fence -- it's worth it!!

I haven't cooked much with ground turkey and am trying to eat healthier so thought I'd try this recipe. Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of the pepper relish on the burger--I used tomatoes and avocado. We're still raving about this recipe. I also didn't know turkey bacon could be that good--I used Oscar Meyer/Louis Rich and it had great flavor. I made a double recipe and froze it to feed my friends this weekend in the wine country--it was that good and healthy which is a definate plus!

2 Thumbs and Four Paws Up!

User: Heather from Springfield, VA    User Rating:
My boyfriend and I were watching the show and since he's on a diet, he was looking for new ways to jazz up the turkey. We thought we'd give these burgers a try. I was a bit skeptical since I'm not one who likes a lot of spicy foods (not worth the heartburn for me) but I was AMAZED with how fabulous these were. They were relatively simple to make (the hardest part was cutting up the food, which is easy for me since I'm the chef in the house!) and tasted heavenly. Since I am a big fan of cilantro, I used more of that and a little bit less tabasco sauce. One burger was more than enough to fill us - we're thinking that next time we'll go without the bun and just eat them straight. With our bellies full, the turkey triptophans kicked in and we were asleep in no time. This will definitely become a staple for us. Even our picky dog loved them!

Ahhh-Mazing!

I doubled the recipe for a pool party that I was having. I should have made 3 times the amount. All the burgers were gone. Very good flavor, just enough spice and not too hot(even though I like it hot). Also made the Onion rings that aired with this recipe.

Very Tasty!
04/21/2007 at 06:26pm
User: Darcie from Tolland, CT    User Rating:
Both my husband and I really loved the burgers. I altered them by pre-cooking the vegetables in a fry pan with a little vegetable oil and also cooked the burgers on the grill outside. The vegetables would have been a little too crunchy had I not pre-cooked them. Excellent flavors...especially the cilantro. It made the burgers pop with flavor.

Tasty but a little too crunchy
03/21/2007 at 01:54pm
User: Vicki from Allen, TX    User Rating:
I enjoyed these burgers a lot but next time I would saute the veggies first so they're not so crunchy in the burger. This was a very nice, well-seasoned, and healthy burger. I didn't use any of the suggested toppings, just ate it plain on a WW bun.

My husband and I really loved these. Will omit the bacon next time as the turkey patties were so flavorful that the flavor of the bacon was eliminated. Mixed 4 tbsp pepper jelly with 2tsp lite sour cream for a spicy sweet sauce (a little goes a long way).

Satisfied by the Southwest in the Northeast
01/15/2007 at 08:09pm
User: Danielle from Exeter, NH    User Rating:
This was a great way to do something flavorful and easy with ground turkey. You don't even have to use all the ingridients, I used a small yellow onion, the dried herbs and the Montreal steak rub and it came out delicious. The next time I may make it exactly to the recipie for a treat but this burger was yummy just as it was. Great for students, I made five small burgers and now I can go grab a burger and microwave it whenever I want. It's fast and easy and a great change from the same old Kraft dinner or peanut butter and jelley.

This recipe is alright, however, I have made it with the onion rings and also with baked french fries and neither side dish seems to really go with it. So if anyone has any better ideas of what to eat with this, I would make it more often. Also, I didn't use the red relish. We put mustard on ours. Thumbs down from my 6 year old and 3 year old.

A weekly event!
08/17/2006 at 09:24am
User: Anonymous    User Rating:
These burgers are SO good that I now make them weekly. They're my husband's favorite (next to the Jambasta!). They are super easy to make and I use my cast-iron grill pan to grill them instead of the pan. I mix the EVOO with the other ingredients and then make the patties and I find this works very well and keeps the EVOO from smoking. I don't use the turkey bacon and have yet to really bother with the relish, and I also use ground turkey in stead of the ground breast because it's half the price and easier on my budget. I've also learned that making the patties thinner and wider helps for more even cooking which in turn makes the burgers juicier. They get better and better every time. Thank you Rachael!

I've made turkey burgers before, different ways...but this recipe is the absolute best! The flavors are so awesome, you can't really tell it's turkey meat. And so moist! The first time I made them, my husband was impressed. My teenage son would not even try it hearing it was turkey. Later he caved in and took a bite of a leftover patty...he loved it! So now, my only recipe is this one - thanks Rachel!

These were fantastic. My husband loves his food on the spicy side, so these were perfect for him--but you can easily knock the spice level up or down to meet your own tastes. Our package of ground turkey was smaller than the recipe calls for, and we still ended up with 4 good-sized burgers. Of course, Rachael's recipes are usually sized for a VERY healthy appetite, and this is no exception! :-)

Could not believe husbands reaction of 'very good'. I did not tell him he was going to be eating 'turkey' burgers or the gig would have been up. First bite and he said they were very good. Wow! Coudos again to you Rachel. Girl you are making a believer out of me. I did not have the sweet red pepper relish, but these were wonderful anyway. Served these burgers along with Rachel's 'Cajun Oven Fries', also another big hit from the frequent complainers.

Omit the bun and sweet pepper relish and this is a great low-carb meal. I have made this recipe 4 times and we really enjoy it. However, it is too spicy for us, so I cut way back on spices. It is also good leftover! I love watching Rachel Ray. Would like to see more low-carb recipes.

Wow! These are sooooo delicious. I made them according to RR's recipe the first time and then I tweaked it a bit--used guacamole on top instead of sweet pepper relish...grilled on BBQ instead of fried in skillet...added a tiny dash of cayenne pepper-- YOU JUST CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS DISH! My kids (11 and 8) and my husband went wild for it. Now I plan on buying a bus load of ground turkey at Costco and making a bunch of these to freeze. YUM!

This was an easy to follow recipe with outstanding results. The burgers were flavorful and had a nice spiciness - not too hot, though! Couldn't find the Sweet Pepper relish so just used the old standbys - mustard and ketchup - and they still were great. Will make a double batch for a barbecue this weekend.

I watch FoodTV for my favorite shows but also when I can't find anything else worth while on the television. I caught this recipe being prepared on 30 minute meals and I wanted to try it. Despite the number of ingredients I don't prefer in my meals, I repeated the preparation exactly as instructed and boy am I glad. The burger, in and of itself was excellent, yet combined with the kaiser roll, red-leaf lettuce, pepperjack cheese and all topped with a delicious (surprise to me!) sweet red pepper relish, it seemed to come to life. I highly recommend this recipe to anyone willing to give it a shot. Oh, and all totalled, the ingredients used to prepare enough food for only two people (leaving much food left over for repeat preparations) cost me only $12.67.
