What a great alternative to the usual method of making a vegetable. Rachel mentioned you could use broccoli (or lini) or cauliflower. I used broccoli. Unfortunately if you didn't see the show this recipe is totally off. EVOO covering the brocolli and 400 F in the oven for 10 min. Awesome, crisp veggies!

wow!

Adjustments You Can Make and Refer To

Rachel has a recipe for Chili Garlic Roasted Broccoli that is Excellent! You can use less chili powder which I think made it better and lower the cooking time to about 15 minutes for broccoli and about 8 or 9 minutes for broccolini to keep it from getting over crispy/burned on the florets. Use you imagination with this like using lemon pepper instead or whatever flavor your family likes.

fantastic

Rachael put all the ingredients on a cookie sheet, tossing the broccolini to coat, and roasted it at 400 degrees for about 10 - 12 min. Just FYI, since the recipe posted online offers a totally different cooking method.

Pretty yummy

Tried this for the first time tonight. Just as RayRay described it, nutty, garlicky, and salty (I am liberal with the salt, oops). Very nice way to jazz up a new vegie. Even my pretty picky husband liked it. Oh, we cooked it in the oven at 400 for 10 minutes with evoo, garlic, salt, and pepper. Will definately make it again.

Not The Same

User: MAGGIE from fullerton, CA    User Rating:
Rachel arranged the broccolini on a baking sheet, sprinkled evoo on...with salt pepper and crushed garlic and made sure all the veggie got doused with the evoo so it would not burn...did not see the temp she used in the oven to bake the broccolini...hope that helps...haven't made it, but it looks yummy except for the garlic...not a fan...enjoy!

I saw the end of the show and came to the website to get the recipe for the Oven Roasted Broccolini. I had never thought of putting broccolini (or broccoli) in the oven. I was disappointed to find that the recipe listed was not the same as was on the show.

I got broccolini in my veggie box this week and had no idea what to do with it. Fortunately my box also had garlic bulbs. So I made this recipe, it was very quick to make and it tasted so much better than regular broccoli or plain kale. Thanks for having this recipe available!

I made it with regular broccoli, because I already had some in my refrigerator, but it was really easy to make. Altho, I added a little butter and lots of salt, and I thought it tasted a lot better than just regular steamed broccoli with butter and salt.

loved it

User: Sally from San Antonio, TX    User Rating:
The broccolini preparation is great, but does not need two turns of the pan and semi-cooked garlic. Garlic infused EVOO (lightly brushed on) or roasted garlic mixed in 1 TBS of EVOO is much better, but I think that Rachel always overdoes the fat in dishes.

Good way to dress up your broccoli

What a wonderful way to eat veggies! I mixed a few vegetables together instead of only using broccolini (not available at my local market) and even my husband ate this dish! A definite must try for everyone.

Way too much garlic!

I like garlic, but this was way too much. Only people that truly hate vegetables need this much garlic added in.

Bitter tasting

Not sure what happened, but my broccolini was on the bitter side. My neighbor told me that it is normally a bitter veggie. Since I didn't see the show I have no idea what comments Rachael made about this veggie. Next time I will try it with regular broccoli and see how it does.

Super easy

Can submerge broccolini in ice bath before cooking with garlic to keep it greener, but it's tasty regardless.

Edible kind-of

Ok recipe (would be hard to mess up even for RR), but the garlic should have been roasted and blended with the olive oil - was too strong otherwise. Question: how can RR make a broccolini dish (cross between chinese kale and broccoli) and on another episode substitute spaghetti for lo mein noodles? Weird. Broccolini is way harder to find than the wide variety of asian noodles found in most main stream grocery stores. This chick is wack.

Too garlicky and too mushy

Thought this looked good, but we have to say we prefer Ina Garten's recipe for this. It's very fast and easy and much better. But, I guess these two really can't be compared.
