I was so bummed about how this turned out. I thought the flavor was descent, but it was seperated from the very beginning and never came together. It's so hard to dunk bread chunks in a lump of cheese. Won't try this one again.

Creamy and Strong

This white wine fondue was very creamy and flavorful. It was not a five for me because the recipe as it is has a little to much flavor. However, I found by using just half the wine and the rest chicken broth that the flavor is perfect. Sandra Lee is my favorite. Thank you for all the great ideas!

It was gross

Like all the others have said -- it tasted like chicken soup. It was disgusting. I am not sure if this recipe would work without the soup, but I have since found a better recipe for cheese fondue anyway.

YUCK-- TASTED LIKE CHICKEN

Cheese fondue is supposed to taste like cheese not chicken. It was a very unpleasant surprise. I don't recommend this recipe.

I didn't like it. I agree that the chicken broth is overpowering. Could not detect the white wine at all.

We renamed this recipe!

Yuck. What a terrible taste in fondue!

Just a very bad recipe -- tasted heavily of canned chicken broth.

I love fondue and make it at home all the time. I had never used chicken broth in fondue (you never see it in recipes for cheese fondue), so I decided to see what it tasted like. Well, now I know why you never see chicken broth used in real fondue recipes: it makes the fondue taste strongly of canned chicken broth. We all absolutely hated it. IMO definitely leave out the chicken broth

Not a very good fondue

I read these reviews after I make this. I don't think people lying. I think they just have tastes that are not the same.

I madeit without the chicken stock

I read the reviews then googled some other recipes and found that hardly any of them used chicken stock. Just wine and cheese. So I upped the wine and left out the chicken stock and the recipe turned out very well. Anyone that says they can't taste that much chicken stock in a recipe like this is not telling the truth or they smoke too much. Make sure you have something to keep the fondu warm or it will harden into something really gross on you.

Strong chickeny taste

I have never made fondue before so I didn't know about the chicken broth but it reaklly ruined the taste of the cheese!

Classic, creamy and simply the best!

This is a fondue DO over! I will be doing it over again and again. Make sure you use quality cheese, it enhances the creaminess of the sauce, not the mention the flavor.

Great fondue recipe

I made this exactly as written and it was a hit. We used crusty sourdough and rye bread, and blanched veggies for the dippers. Fantastic!!!!

Leave out the chicken broth

The chicken broth made it taste, well, like CHICKEN when I wanted it to taste like CHEESE. Otherwise it's a great recipe! Good consistency. Great with bread and veggies.
