I wonder if Bobby Flay ever visited Philly? 12/30/2004 at 11:36pm User: LEON from Middleburg, PA User Rating: This is not or anywhere near a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. First the rib eye steak meat must be sliced paper thin. Second the roll used is not a soft roll but "crispy". You can use a soft roll but first it must be kept in the freezer over night. Bobby's sandwich had good flavor but is not from Philly. Delicious 12/03/2006 at 01:48pm User: Vincent from Hamilton, NJ User Rating: This was my first attempt to make something from the FOOD NETWORK and it came out great It had a very nice flavor and the chese sause can be used for many other things. It was Very easy to follow and fun to make. Its so easy even a 15 year old like me could make it Very Nice 11/02/2006 at 12:02pm User: JOY from St. Charles, IL User Rating: I am originally from the Philly area...and this is a nice upgrade of the traditional recipe for me! My only complaint was that I like my cheese sauce a little thicker than this one! Otherwise, I am sure this will be made again in my house! How Matt Liked It? 10/06/2006 at 08:58pm User: Joley from Williamsburg, VA User Rating: Good sauce Best "Philly" cheese steak 09/25/2004 at 02:21pm User: LOUISE from Greensboro, NC User Rating: After trying several "Philly" cheese steak sandwiches in Philly at very popular shops, I would still rate this one as five stars. Louise Greensboro, NC. Not for me 09/16/2005 at 10:43am User: Anonymous User Rating: I don't think I'll make this recipe again. It just wasn't as good as I was expecting. Not Philly, maybe NYC 09/03/2007 at 06:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: only similarities to this and a "Philly" is that it contains beef. Great Family Meal 08/29/2006 at 05:24pm User: GAIL from Bernardsville, NJ User Rating: This is a great family meal.. It is easy and tastes great. To save money you can use a pepper or skirt steak in place of the filet's and just tenderize them. Absolutely Great 08/05/2006 at 03:59am User: Anonymous User Rating: I was watching boys to grill late at night cuz i couldn't sleep. Sure was glad i did that. After watching this epsidoe i knew i had to make these andwiches. The cheesesteak was aboslutely prefect. Cheese sauce was original and tangy and really soaked into the bread to give it that nice cheestreak sandwich, greasy and delicious lol. Big Hit With Family 07/25/2006 at 05:37pm User: Lydia from San Juan, TX User Rating: They loved it, wonderful recipe that is easy to alter to taste. this was great 07/14/2005 at 02:17am User: ryan from san diego, CA User Rating: i know it is not a philly cheese steak for real but if you get the real meat it is even better, but the way he does it is actually less greasy so if that is a big factor do it his way!!!! classis cheesesteak 07/09/2006 at 10:47am User: Anonymous User Rating: great recipe that follows a traditional method of cooking...careful with the rue, too much flower will kill sauce Grilled Philly Cheese Steak 06/04/2005 at 02:37pm User: Diana from Atco, NJ User Rating: You don't fool with an original. This was poor at best. Bobby should stay with what he knows and not fool with the classics. So easy and tasty! 06/03/2007 at 08:58pm User: Gina from Columbus, OH User Rating: I am amazed at how easy and tasty this meal was. I will absolutely make it again, So simple and SO delicious. Loved it!!! thank heaven for chef Flay 04/17/2008 at 01:52pm User: David from Caledonia, MI User Rating: I found what I was Looking For and sounded Good NOT Authentic 04/11/2008 at 09:30am User: J from Philadelphia, PA User Rating: This may be a tasty sandwich, but an authentic Philadelphia PA style cheese steak it is NOT. I think he's trying to make cheese sauce- which would just be Cheese Whiz. I don't care for Whiz on my sandwiches, I prefer American or Provolone- but a sauce made with flour??? NO WAY! Cheese Whiz, too 04/06/2008 at 12:37pm User: sherilyne from aberdeen, SD User Rating: I made this exactly as instructed; however, I did smear a little Cheese Whiz on one side of the bun. We absolutely loved it! Delicious 04/02/2005 at 02:01pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is an excellent sandwich! Great Sandwich Whatever the Name 03/27/2008 at 12:16pm User: Anonymous User Rating: So it's not a traditional Philly ... who cares what the sandwich is called? It tastes great! I usually like my cheesesteak with provolone but that's just me. I'm lov'n the sauce on this one. Yummmm! yummy 03/24/2008 at 04:41pm User: Anonymous User Rating: it sounds really good Fantastic!! 01/15/2006 at 09:45am User: KIM from Ashland, KY User Rating: These Philly Steak sandwiches are great. Although I did not do them on the grill. I used Beef Tenderloin and had my meat cutter cut it up for me. But the veggies and cheese sauce are great on this sandwich. |
