Everyone seems so impressed over the American Frosting and the box cake mix...when you get right down to it...it's cake mix. Throw in butter and powdered sugar and everyone is impressed by Ray's efforts. Wow. Just wow.

Took these to work and my coworkers went crazy for them. They are so tasty. But I used canned frosting rather than her recipe, as several people mentioned having issues with it. Overall such an easy and delicious recipe.

The cupcakes were really good and a huge hit at my daughters 2nd birthday. I would definitely make them again. However the icing turned out too hard and was really difficult to work with, I would choose a different icing recipe next time.

Fluffy Cloudlike Frosting for a Crowd

I did not make these cupcakes, however I did make the Frosting for a Crowd. It was hugely successful. The sifting was a bit of a project, however it did turn out superior results. I required a more milk than the recipe called for and saved it overnight before frosting the cupcakes. I used a double boiler setup on very, very low heat to soften the frosting the next day. It was great!

love it

I made the cupcakes for my son's 8th birthday pool party. I had about 6 different candy toppings and 3 different colors of frosting. The kids had a blast creating their own cupcakes; I made sure to take some pictures. This was definitely a fun alternative to the cake.

Used this for the frosting recipe - very easy - tasty too - had to put the cupcakes in the freezer for a while because the kids couldn't wait to frost and decorate them.
