This was the most awesome dressing I have ever tasted. It was so simple and amazing that it has so much flavor with just a few ingredients. It would also make a nice sauce for a vegetable platter or even a fish sauce. A definite repeat keeper.

This salad recipe reminded me of a lemony ceasar salad. I cut down a bit on the lemon juice and added some honey to cut the tartness of the dressing. Make sure you add the bacon to the salad otherwise it just tastes like lettuce with lemon.

too much lemon

It was a good salad, but i just put the amount of dressing in and tossed it, and it was much too juicy and much to lemony. Think it can be good, but will use less next time.

I found the lemon just a teensy bit overpowering in this dressing, but other than that it was good.

LOVED it!

I made this for a dinner party where one of my guests is not able to eat dairy or vinegar- it was PERFECT. I substituted dried mustard for the prepared mustard, and left the parm out of the dresssing and had it as a topping for the other guests. YES it makes a TON of dressing- but it's fabulous, and my husband and I enjoyed leftovers all week long

Fresh & delightful salad & dressing, a little similar to a cesear dressing. I don't like using raw egg, so substituted 1 1/2 TB of mayo for the egg yolk (I've also used 1 1/2 TB pasturized egg substitute vs raw egg yolk). Used romaine vs baby greens. Came out perfect.

Who cares that this makes a lot? I could eat this every single day. Great recipe. I did it with Romaine and added some sliced scallions. It was just terrific.

This dressing is so thick and creamy and I can't wait to have leftovers today. The recipe does make a whole lot. Used boston lettuce mix instead of baby greens, any lettuce will work. Definitely try it!

We thought this was a great salad. Its easy and looks more complicated than it is when plated which is always good for impressing guests. Couple of things: 1. Unless you are having a big dinner party, cut the recipe for the dressing in half. It has raw egg so it won't keep long. 2. Watch the olive oil you use. Some extra virgin olive oils have too strong a bite and can overpower the dressing. 3. We added pears to the salad the second time and it was awesome, that sweetness along with the bacon are the perfect balance to the sharpness of the cheese and olive oil.

First dressing that I have made from scratch and it was simple and tasted great. Husband thought that it was resturant quality.

I made this dressing (no bacon) and it was excellent. Re the salt - remember, Ina uses kosher, which tends to be bigger grained. So a teaspoon of kosher may actually be more like 3/4 of a teaspoon of table salt. In general Ina loves her salt so be warned!

I'm surprised to read the other reviews. I made this dressing for company and they wanted the recipe! It wasn't the least bit salty and had wonderful flavor. I did change the lettuce. I had red and green leaf in the fridge and used it instead of the mix called for. It was fantastic!

I made this and it was delicious. Easy to make and full of flavor. I don't know why people find making dressings so daunting.

I folowed the directions and I think it would of had a good flavor but it was very salty. So if you try it watch the salt. I disposed of the remainder of it. I probably will not make this recipe again.
