Tryed to make it with the grandkids but they soon lost interest in the project and so did I. The end result was messy.

sloppy looking. This did not inspire my kids to stay in the kitchen and continue learning to cook.

no amount of chemical flavoring makes the chemical canned frosting taste homemade. my daughter learns how to really cook when we cook together. not this slop

silly looking

tasted like cake mix and canned frosting. Those flavors are unmistakable and indisguiseable

Cute but not worth the work

It was very cute but it tasted incredibly awful, so much so that I ended up throwing almost the whole thing out about a week later. It's also a great deal of work.

Interesting idea

It didn't look that great though. The taste was mediocre. All in all, a complete waste of time.

This is a fun cake. Although it may not have a luxurious taste, it's colorful and fun to make with kids.

difficult

The marshmallow flavoring was difficult for me to find and I had to order it special online. It did not taste at all like I thought it would. I recommend making a homemade marshmallow frosting instead of adding artificial flavoring. It is less work in the long run and tastes amazing. I put green sprinkles all over mine just for Miss Stephanie.

very yummy

I have three children and they wanted to do this and quickly lost interest. the cakes were ok, but not worth the effort. I felt bad for poor little stephanie. She wanted to put sprinkles on the cup cakes and Aunt Sandy blew her off. The kid fetched the sprinkles and didn't even get to put them on her cupcakes. Perhaps it would have clashed with the tablescape.

Really cute and delicious

I made this for my daughter's 7th birthday. Everyone at the party thought it looked adorable. I used devil's food batter for the cupcakes though and yellow butter batter for the cake. That way our guests had more choice for desert than just 1 type of batter. Also, I didn't have any marshmallow extract. I ran out of time so I didn't pipe the cute swirls on the cake so I used those little sugared decorations (like jimmies) that you buy in the baking isle and just sprinkled those very lightly on the cupcakes and cake.
