I've never made okra before and I'm SOOO pleased! This was perfect and everyone loved it. Slightly spicy and the flavors just danced in your mouth. Excellent!

We loved the okra from this easy recipe! The okra was so flavorful with a crunch. There was no gooey okra slime. I used the the same recipe, replacing okra with fresh gulf shrimp and adding lime zest. I will be repeating the recipe over and over while I can still get fresh local okra. Thanks Bobby!!!

I had always been a bit skeptical about okra (aside from it being in something like gumbo) until many years ago when I had tempura okra at a restaurant. I loved it and thought about it often! It was crispy, yummy and in no way slimey. This BBQ'd Okra recipe recalls the same yumminess but without the hassle (and calories) of batter and deep-frying. It was a snap to make and very tasty. I'll make this again when I can find good looking okra again here in San Diego (hint: look in Indian markets!).
