minor changes

I made these for a dessert party. I did make a few minor changes. I added 2 TBS Chambord to the crust. I used mini muffin tins with paper liners. I also added 2 TBS Chambord to the truffle filling. The directions for the truffles are misleading. Once the truffle mixture has been whipped and is fairly cool, it is ready to be piped into the crusts. If you chill the filling you will never get it piped. Because the tarts were so small, I omitted the raspberry on the top because it was in the middle of the tart. The raspberry and the chocolate tastes were equally shared. It was a great hit at my party. All I did was add some Chambord and make the tarts tiny. Thanks Tyler

Outstanding and Have Question

Great appearance and taste. Has anyone made the cookie crumb bases ahead of time? If so, did you need to refrigerate them? I need to make 60. Thanks

Chocolate Delight

It is a cholcolate overload. I used more cream to help give the truffle recipe a much smoother taste.

too sweet

I made these for Easter and wasn't successful with the first batch of chocolate but tried again and it worked. Overall, the recipe is too sweet although the chocolate is very creamy. I still have some left over from Easter so that should tell you something. :)

I made this for Easter and everyone loved it. I also made half of them with strawberries. I thought that tasted better than the raspberries.

Pretty Good

Truffle mixture was tough to pipe out and it was difficult to make it look pretty but the taste was good. I used strawberries instead of raspberries and chocolate oreos for the crust. Also used with mini muffin trays.

A bit tough to make gut very good

I found the truffles a bit difficult to work wth although I used light cream instead of heavy cream.... It was tough to pipe, messy to work with but in the end they turned out nice and were a huge hit at the party. I used the extra raspberrys to decorate the serving plate for a fab presentation!

Decadent and rich. Although the steps are simple enough, getting the cookie mixture in the muffin tins correctly can be tricky.

A LOT harder than it looks!

I don't think I've ever rated anything from FoodNetwork.com lower than 4-stars, but this recipe was the pits! I consider myself to be a fairly competent cook, but I could not get this recipe to work. The crust was so crumbly, and I couldn't get it to pack together well on the sides, even using a cup to press it. I practically spent the entire hour that the filling was cooling trying to make 6 decent cups! The truffle mixture, although it tastes delicious, was really stiff and would not pipe smoothly at all. I ended up putting the whole thing in a hot oven to allow it to soften up again so I could at least make it fill the cups, because when I piped it into the cups it essentially held it's shape, and wouldn't fill it. I would really appreciate some tips from others who have successfully made this recipe. Did I make some glaring mistake? (I only deviated from the recipe by using chocolate with 60% cocoa instead of 70%, because I couldn't find it anywhere). I suspect these will taste good (although right now I'm feeling a bit queasy from all the extra truffle mixture I snacked on) but it was not remotely easy to make them...they're so ugly that I'm not even sure I am going to bring them to the event for which I made them.

Stumped

I'm making this right now and the truffle mixture is slightly greasy? Is this normal? How long do I whip it and will this greasiness go away the longer I whip?

Always read reviews first.

I wish I had read the reviews first. I did not find this easy and when it says you get 15-20 candies it must mean you need to use a mini muffin pan. Definitely not worth the expense and trouble. Gerry Southampton NJ

These are just okay. They are good and quite easy to make however, they don't seem up to par for a Tyler Florence recipe.

I made my own cookie dough. One with expresso powder.Which did add to tartlets.I found I did not need as much butter as recipe called for.Make mini tarlets instead, also placed two raspberries in each.It is true about ganache not being the easiest to work with. But thank heaven I am a baker & know how to rememdy that problem. with a few modifications they turned out GREAT.my 8 year old granddaughter,Julia, wants them for her birthday instead of a cake!!

Yummy!

I used a mini muffin pan instead of the regular muffin pan. It was a little difficult coating the sides with the chocolate crumbs though, but other than that it was pretty easy to make and tasted great! Make sure to use the parchment paper for easy removal.

This was a little more difficult because I had never delt with chocolate before, but it turned out very good. I used this recipe on valentines day so I used sliced strawberries instead of the raspberry but the result was phenomenal...just ask my beautiful girlfriend of 5 years...
