My daughter and I whipped this together while the show was on. It couldn't be any easier and it tasts much better than the boxed mixes, also doesn't have the coloring etc. that you see in instant pudding. This will become a staple at our house. Thanks Alton so much for making things that taste good and are so good.

The pudding turned out great, and was almost a no-brainer to make. (I did read a book while wisking though, I bore easy!) I'm going to try adding orange or mint extracts instead of vanilla in the future, I bet it would be yummy!

very good

I used 2% milk and no heavy cream and it was very thick just like you would expect from pudding. I would advise to use the bets quality cocoa you can buy! I will never feed my boyfriend or family the packaged garbage again. I have been deceived by that junk - this pudding is so much better without a processed aftertaste. Thanks Alton!

A very quick & easy pudding to make, tho I would have liked it to be a little sweeter. I used all skim milk and the consistency was very good and creamy plus healthier than the original recipe.

Pretty darn good!

I'm so used to the packaged cook and serve pudding that it is hard to like anything else, but this one is a keeper. Dutch cocoa does work the best in this recipe. Wish there was a sugar free version.

no egg yolk?

I couldn't find my pudding recipe so I turned to Alton...I made it with skim milk-too thin.Next time I'll add 2 egg yolks. For the love of all things holy, don't skip the straining step!

Great recipe. Love the instant pudding mix. I was serving this to a guest who is diabetic, so used 1/2 cup splenda and 2 tablespoons sugar for the mix.

a very rich pudding that can easily be made with all milk - even skim if you're watching calories. I added a 1/2 tsp orange extract at the end of cooking instead of the vanilla, and it turned out tasting like a chocolate orange - exceptional!!

The most wonderful, creamy pudding I've ever had. I am gluten intolerant; pudding mixes (Jell-o, Royal, etc.) have gluten in them. This home-made mix does not. So if you or anyone you know is also gluten intolerant, try this.

WAY better than a box!

This pudding is creamy, rich, and more chocolatey than it is sweet - great news for chocolate lovers. I have made it with the cream as the recipe says for a VERY rich dessert; I also tried it with 4 cups of whole milk, and it is still every bit as delicious with less fat. Thanks, Alton!

FANTASTIC!!!!

This is so easy!! It's wonderful to have the mix ready in the frig, so when the chocolate craving hits, it takes no time at all to pull out the dry mix, add the 1/2 & 1/2 or cream, or milk, whichever you prefer, and in no time at all, you have the most decadent, creamy, rich chocolate pudding ever!!! My husband LOVES it!!!

Oh well....

I didn't have any dry milk powder so I did the instant pudding mix without it, and it was still great. So next time, when I have the milk powder, it'll be even better! I also put a teaspoon of instant coffee in the pudding while it was cooking and that was very tasty.

Excellent

whole foods makes this chocolate pudding that i would buy at 2.50 a cup because it was so yummy. i always looked at the ingredients and noticed they make it without eggs-and instead use cornstarch. Well, Alton has made me give up buying those 2.50 pudding cups. This is so wonderful, yummy, rich but not too rich, thick but not too thick! Plus it makes it so you don't have to mess with eggs!

excellent but
