Right On! 06/23/2008 at 12:06pm User: Rod from Miramar Beach, FL User Rating: I followed the process using my own rub and it was perfect. The tin foil at the end was important. Amazingly Moist! 07/17/2007 at 02:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My husband tried this recipe last weekend and boy was it worth the wait. It was so moist and flavorful. We took it over to my brother's and let his friends try it out. They couldn't stop eating it and talking about it. We left it plain and had two different BBQ sauces options to put on the meat. One of them was the Oklahoma Joes BBQ sauce, Cowtown. Although the BBQ sauce was a great addition, this meat is just perfect with nothing on it. Excellent recipe! THE GROOMS LOVE IT! 06/22/2007 at 07:19pm User: JONATHAN from hutchinson, KS User Rating: WE LOVE THIS RECIPE! THE RUB IS FANTASTIC! IT IS A MUST TRY! YUM-O! 08/15/2006 at 04:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I frequent OK Joe's restaurant every chance I get upon visiting KC...the restaurant is in a GAS STATION in downtown KC and has lines out the door almost every night! If followed it is exactly as it is served....yummy!!! My husband is a huge fan of BBQ Pork (good Carolina boy) and said by far....OK Joe's is the BEST YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good, but not spectacular 08/11/2006 at 09:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I used Boston Butt roast, my smoker and hickory chunks. I used apple juice for the liquid in the smoker and then spritzed the meat when I added chips to the smoker. The flavor on the outside is good, but I was disappointed that it didn't have more of a kick throughout the meat. I use a lot of chips when I smoke meat, so I know that wasn't part of the problem. Big hit @ work 09/22/2005 at 11:45am User: Blanca from Greenville, TX User Rating: I made this for a Birthday party we were celebrating at work and everyone rave about it. Since I don't have a smoker and wasn't about to stay up all night cooking on the grill, I put mine in the oven at 275 and cooked about 6 hours. I just poured the apple juice in the bottom of the pan. Very tasty BBQ. Excellent pulled pork 06/28/2005 at 04:46pm User: MICHAEL from Rosalia, WA User Rating: This is a excellent recipe. I only changed to apple wood smoking. Try this rub and baste on ribs...it rocks!! 02/09/2005 at 04:06pm User: JOHN from Malvern, AR User Rating: This is great on the Boston Butt roast but is even better as a rub and baste for ribs on the grill. I par boiled the ribs first then put on the rub then put them on the grill and used the apple juice for basting. I used charcoal, hickory chunks, and indirect heat for about 2-2.5 hours. The apple juice is the secret to this I think. |
