Dissappointment at its highest 11/25/2005 at 05:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I was very dissappointed with this particular recipe. The result was horrendous I have to say. I followed the instructions very carefully yet the taste as well as the presentation of the outcome forced me to toss everything in the garbage after just one bite. Great Idea, but made slightly different... 11/08/2006 at 12:40pm User: Lauren from San Antonio, TX User Rating: I'm giving 5 stars because I love Sandra, and I love her joy and creativity. I pretty much followed this recipe exactly, except I added sliced fresh apples with the canned pears (well drained...) Instead of the liquor, I sprinkled cinnamon on top. The tart was light and tasty, I my husband even took the rest of it to work with him, so I guess I have to make more!!! Poor texture 11/06/2006 at 09:29pm User: Jenna from Middleton, CO User Rating: I would go so far as to call it mushy. The flavor was hard to detect and it didn't make up for the texture. My daughters new favorite 11/05/2006 at 11:25pm User: ginger from spring, TX User Rating: After I made my first peach pear tart, my daughter was begging for more. In a very short time, it's become a family favorite! Very very bland 11/05/2006 at 05:38pm User: Pinky from Helena, MT User Rating: Bordering on flavorless. Won't make this one again! Such an odd flavor 07/07/2006 at 08:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: It tasted like nothing, but not as much as if you were actually eating nothing. Odd. Good as a Snack 07/07/2006 at 06:34pm User: Sharon from Texas City, TX User Rating: I made this for my family as a dessert but everyone felt it was missing something. There needs to be something extra added as the tart itself was bland. I'm willing to try it again once I've decided what to add for more favoring. excellent 07/06/2006 at 09:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: just excellent I'm a believer in canned pears now 07/06/2006 at 12:00am User: Anonymous User Rating: They impart wonderful flavor to tarts This was the first peach and pear tart I've ever had 07/05/2006 at 09:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: but I can't imagine having one any better. I used sliced peaches and arranged them in a row and added mango rum ILO the other liquer. Thanks. Mushy, tasteless, will not try again 04/21/2006 at 02:42pm User: Jacqueline from Avon, CT User Rating: This was a total disappointment. I took a look at what they showed on TV and thought hmm this would be a good desert, however the recipe is off. The canned pears is a bad idea, puff pastry gets all mushy and there is not much taste overall. I almost am mad at myself for trying this. Never again. Didn't taste anything like pears 04/17/2006 at 06:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Tasted like some kind of over-sweetened baby food. so good 04/17/2006 at 01:50pm User: amanda from las vegas, NV User Rating: This was so easy to whip up and was so good that my neighbour who hates pears (I found that out when she was almost done eating it) said she loved it. We all enjoyed it very much. Not too sweet, perfect finish to a meal. The pastry was good 04/10/2006 at 12:46pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We didn't like the filling though, it didn't have enough flavor for us. peach pear tart 04/09/2006 at 11:32pm User: MARIA from miami, FL User Rating: This was very good and easy to do. Thank you for sharing the method and now I'm already thinking of other ingredients to use - this one's a winner! Canned pears just aren't that good to bake with 04/05/2006 at 04:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: They start out pretty mealy and tasteless right from the can. When they are cooked they get even worse. This is one recipe where she should have used fresh pears. elegant and delicious 04/04/2007 at 06:27pm User: Karen from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL User Rating: Sandra Lee came through for me again! This is sooo delicious, but also such an elegant- and impressive-looking dessert. We loved this 04/04/2007 at 12:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: tart! Be sure to really pat the pears dry with a paper towel, though. this tart 04/03/2006 at 07:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Way more trouble than it's worth. I worked so hard on it and it not only looked like a 3-yo had made it, it tasted like nothing. peaches and pears in a tart 04/02/2006 at 11:27pm User: Anonymous User Rating: lovely! I made mine with half canned and half freshly cut pears so it had a canned and fresh consistency to it all at the same time. The crust is so good too. I feel the canned pears gave this tart a nice sweet flavor that fresh pears would not have. It would be good with fresh too, but it would have a little bit of a lighter taste to it. yummy 03/31/2006 at 10:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: yum yum! very pretty tart 03/31/2006 at 10:12pm User: Anonymous User Rating: good too! very lovely 03/28/2006 at 11:53pm User: Anonymous User Rating: tart! Bland and mushy 02/28/2006 at 09:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Fine for babies and the elderly but the rest of us want some taste to our food. below average tart 02/27/2006 at 08:53pm User: Leah from Las Vegas, NV User Rating: Poor consistency and average flavor. Not worth making again. yak 02/27/2006 at 06:54pm User: Melinda from Saginaw, MS User Rating: It is really bad in terms of both the look and taste. I feel bad for spending my time and any money on it. I should have known she would not be capable of producing a good recipe and the fictitious 5 star reviews cannot change this fact. Bland 02/22/2006 at 02:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Bland and mushy. Sorry but this just wasn't up to the usual Semi-Homemade standard. just peachy 02/21/2006 at 06:11pm User: Ian from York, ME User Rating: This was incredibly easy. I left out the butter and sprinkled with brown sugar instead of 10x sugar, regardless, it was a fantastic ligh dessert. Next time, I'll let the kids help, it was just that easy to make. pp tart 02/15/2006 at 08:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Too much trouble and it wasn't even that great. No thank you. It tasted similar to, but even better than, Pepperidge Farms turnovers. It was easy to make and it was a pretty presentation. I think apples would be just as good. And next time I'm going to try fresh pears, for a little texture. tasted better than the bakery 01/22/2006 at 11:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This tart tasted better than the ones I buy from my favorite bakery. Personal preference. Peach Pear Tart 01/20/2006 at 03:22pm User: JO ANN from Nashville, TN User Rating: Canned pears made this dish to mushy. Not pleasant to eat at all. Fresh pears would have been easier and made for better texture. Tastes as good as it looks! 01/19/2006 at 08:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Thanks for a good easy tart recipe. Great flaky crust! 01/18/2006 at 08:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This tasted amazing. The sweetness of the canned pears I think gave it an even better taste than had I used fresh. This is great served warm with icecream. Good cold the next day too! Terrible 01/08/2006 at 05:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Another loser of a recipe. Simple but Delicious 01/08/2006 at 11:38am User: Anonymous User Rating: I found this recipe easy to make but all who tasted it found it delicious! I found it impossible to find pear liquor so I substituted peat nectar. This will become a new favorite dessert for our family and friends. |
