Mini Burgers tasted strange 12/30/2006 at 09:27am User: Zoe from Redwood City, CA User Rating: and the toasted disks were hard. Made it difficult to serve and eat. Too big for one bite with the meatball and disk. But couldn't dite into without making a mess. Impractical and Bad Tasting 12/17/2006 at 11:23pm User: Francine from Baltimore, MD User Rating: Meatballs balanced on stale toast filled with ketchup just doesn't work. They roll off. Plus they taste bad. Silly idea 12/09/2005 at 08:44pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was basically a meatball on stale bread. They fell off! Not good at all .... I thought we'd gotten rid of these 11/27/2005 at 12:32pm User: Bagatha from Portland, ME User Rating: I thought they were on the bottom of a lake someplace with her boiled spare ribs! The pot roast seasoning was not exactly right for meatballs 11/16/2006 at 01:21pm User: Anonymous User Rating: First, it was a pretty salty addition. The spices were suited more for baking for a longer time. Second, the presentation was almost childish looking. It did not come off looking sophisticated. Third, this was very ungraceful for my guests to eat as finger foods. I noticed people leaving them on the plate rather than risking the meatball falling of onto the floor. Toasted Disks? 10/29/2005 at 11:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I must say, I have a serious beef with any recipe that is served on Toasted Disks ~ yuck. Cute and delish 10/26/2005 at 10:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I actually made these too as opposed to the very last reviewer projecting his/her mountain home trollness onto normal people. They were delicious. Plus they are darn cute. Meatballs on Stale Bread 10/25/2005 at 07:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Idiotic. Good luck keeping the balls balanced on old bread. Sandra must be completely off her rocker. What a GREAT idea! 10/25/2005 at 01:54pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Chef Lee is so creative, and such a fine CHEF! These mini burgers on toasted disks were loved by my entire family. Easy, delicious, and unique! Fantastic 09/03/2006 at 03:13pm User: Mark from Spokane, WA User Rating: We had these at our Labor Day BBQ. They were very well recieved, great idea. super duper 05/30/2007 at 12:43am User: carol from mesquite, TX User Rating: the mini burgers were a great hit at a party for the neighbor kids.they want their moms to make them all the time.i thought that was really sweet. Peculiar-tasting meat balls balenced precariously on stale bread 04/25/2006 at 02:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Suffice to say they were NOT popular appetizers at the party. These didn't work wells at all 04/17/2006 at 10:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: What a poor-tasting mess. Too difficult to eat 04/09/2006 at 11:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The ketchup and mustard make a terrible mess when the round burgers fall off the disks, which they did at least half a dozen times at my party! I'm not sure how to hold stale toast together lol very cute for appetizers 04/05/2006 at 11:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: if you hold your bread together the meatballs stay in fine.lol My kids didn't like these 04/05/2006 at 10:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: They aren't very good at balancing meatballs on stale bread. I love stale bread! 04/05/2006 at 09:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Moldy cheese too! But these meatballs were the worst. EASY AND 04/05/2006 at 08:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: GOOD! Great fun for the kids to help make! 04/05/2006 at 07:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I had my kids in the kitchen with me on this recipe. They really had fun squishing their thumb in the middle of the mini burger! (Don't forget to wash!) And, my son who doesn't eat much meat really thought these were great! We melted cheese in the middle and had mini cheese burgers :) YUM! my family loved these! 04/05/2006 at 01:28am User: Anonymous User Rating: but we eat day old bread all the time. They were great! yum! 04/03/2006 at 09:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: mostly cute too. These would be great as big burgers too :) I liked the "toasted disks" they were a nice cruchy change from the regular hamburger bun. my guests just laughed at 04/03/2006 at 01:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: these silly little burgers. not very impressive. really good 04/03/2006 at 12:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: these were delicious! No Good 04/03/2006 at 10:01am User: Anonymous User Rating: These were horrible! they didn't spell disk correctly 04/02/2006 at 11:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: but it was still good......:) These little burgers 04/02/2006 at 09:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: were da bomb! tasteful 04/02/2006 at 09:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: little burgers. And brought smiles to the faces of my guests! best 04/02/2006 at 07:46pm User: Anonymous User Rating: mini burgers I've ever had. The meat has great flavor 04/02/2006 at 07:36pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I'm going to make big versions of this soon. Very very good. a hit 04/02/2006 at 07:26pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Everyone went crazy over these. I flattened my meat into discs to make them easier to handle. ctail burgers 04/02/2006 at 07:15pm User: Anonymous User Rating: cute idea! and nice flavor. What a great idea 04/02/2006 at 07:07pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We loved the "buns" and the meat was juicy and tasted great. These were 04/02/2006 at 07:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: good. good 04/02/2006 at 06:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: tasting little burgers. super cute idea 04/02/2006 at 06:44pm User: Anonymous User Rating: for kids. They taste yummo. These little burgers 04/02/2006 at 06:35pm User: Anonymous User Rating: were a crowd pleaser. :) These were bad 04/02/2006 at 05:33pm User: lennie from joy, IA User Rating: salty, greasy and the toast was hideous. We didn't like the meatballs or the bread. 03/28/2006 at 02:24pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We hated the taste of the potroast seasoning. And the meaballs should have been flat like burgers so they don't roll off. And the bread was stale. Either serve it fresh or toast it right before serving -- don't leave it out to get stale. This recipe seems really "screwed up." Not exactly popular here 03/22/2006 at 01:09pm User: Sir Edmund from Teebagg, NJ User Rating: I made 17 platters of these burger balls for our annual Christmas in March by the Beach celebration and none of my guests complained either. Us New Jersey folk have better manners. Instead, they just the whole bunch directly in the trash. Had to throw them away 03/22/2006 at 12:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I put out a platter of these for "March Madness" on Sunday and no one would touch them. I have to admit that they didn't look all that appetizing. I did eat one and thought that the seasoning was sort of funny. Delicious 03/22/2006 at 10:09am User: Hillary from teaneck, NJ User Rating: These were delicious!! We served them as a game night dinner, and it was amazing, no one complained and everyone was full. However, the amount of burgers this says it makes is off by a lot, we used 3 lbs of chopped beef because we were serving a larger crowd and used the serving size directed and it only made about 40 burgers meatballs did not stay on the toast when i was serving these 02/26/2006 at 07:54am User: Anonymous User Rating: My guest said they weren't very good either. They didn't like the hard toast texture. Just ok 02/18/2008 at 05:27pm User: Cherity from Reseda, CA User Rating: I made these for Super Bowl Sunday and they mostly sat on touched.....of course it could have been that my guests were more interested in alcohol than food....lol. I happened to think they were tasty, but one complaint.....I used extra lean ground beef, but the grease still pooled in the middle of the hamburger and needed to be scooped out before serving......pain in the butt!!! Simple 02/15/2007 at 11:35pm User: Dana from Gardendale, AL User Rating: I think that you recipes are simple and so easy. Thanks Meatballs fell off the stale bread rounds 02/14/2007 at 02:36pm User: Eunice from Dayton, OH User Rating: I am not sure if this recipe is a mistake or what but the meatballs went EVERYWHERE and it was a huge mess. Also, they were very salty and tasted funky from the weird seasoning packet. Changed it up a bit 02/02/2008 at 09:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I didn't like the pot roast seasoning so I change it up and added diced garlic, onions, shredded cheddar cheese, season salt, and pepper instead. The toasted bread was a nice change. Excellent as Burgers!! 02/01/2008 at 03:49pm User: LAURI from Avoca, MI User Rating: I decided to make this recipe into burgers when I realized I didn't have an olive oil spray for the bread. All I can say is WOW they were great! I only added 1 tbs. of worchestire sauce and some pepper to the hamburger mixture, fried them up and they were excellent even without buns. I will be definitely making these again. Thanks Sandra!! Mini Burgers 01/28/2006 at 03:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made in regular hamburger size and in buns and it came out of this world and soooo goood. Highly recommended for busy mom. Mini-burgers 01/27/2008 at 10:58am User: Judy from Racine, WI User Rating: I have been making a variation of these for DECADES! Lightly toast any kind of bread you wish, any size. Mix your ground beef with anything you wish (I use onion soup mix, usually). Spread the burger mixture on the toasted bread and broil. Serve with small bowls of finely chopped onions, and any other condiments of your choice. You won't be disappointed. |
