My husband loves okra and he liked these a lot, but I fried them in Canola Oil..what's up with the attraction to all that BUTTER? I'm not an okra fan, so I have to go with his rating...three stars...tastes good, quick and easy.

I as a fellow southerner for 5 generations and a lover of okra was very disappointed in the dish. It was way too heavy a lacked any real flavor.

I loved this recipe !!! Super easy and delicious !!! My mother-in-law who loves okra and never knows what to do with it couldn't stop eating them. The only changes I made were that I used a little more onions (sauted them a little first) and (it didn't specify in the directions, but I) boiled the frozen okra before adding it. As someone mentioned, you do need a lot of butter (as clarifying it dissolves a lot of the butter) but it was so good I wouldn't try anything else. Thanks Paula !

This is a great recipe I've made many times and it has a WONDERFUL corn flavor. The okra gives it an extra dimension and makes it moist and succulent. I've always used fresh, sliced okra and fry the bread in olive oil/butter. It's really delicious!

This recipe combined two of my hubby's favorites..okra & cornbread! He loved this! I used oil instead of butter and found them to be a bit greasy, but hey, it's Southern food, it's supposed to be a bit greasy!!
