My signature dessert 09/19/2005 at 09:25pm User: KATHY from Beaver Falls, PA User Rating: This is so easy and delicious it has become my signature dessert. It is a little pricey to make in colder weather here in the northeast, when the fruit isn't in season, but it is worth it if you want to make a good impression. I didn't have meringue cookies to crumble on top so I just bought some Pepperidge Farm cookies and crumbled them and then put a couple of cookies in each dish to complete the presentation. Received many raves. Berries with Mascarpone - yum! 09/12/2005 at 07:16pm User: Debbie from Austin, TX User Rating: My family LOVES this dessert! Easy, Elegant and Out of this World Refreshing 02/20/2005 at 06:05pm User: GINGER from San Luis Obispo, CA User Rating: I'd just made a Valentine's Day Italian dinner where all the flavors had worked well together and almost wanted to skip making dessert, lest it be a let down, but thought this looked like a recipe where you couldn't go wrong. It was so easy to prepare and special but without adding any heaviness...very light but with so much flavor. It's addictive and I think it'll be my new "make often" dessert. My Sweetheart loved it and so did I. Thanks, Giada. You've got a super show. I enjoy several of the shows but probably use your recipes the most and they're always a hit. Good, but needs more substance 02/18/2008 at 10:17am User: Jamie from Durham, NC User Rating: I wish I had found amaretti cookies instead of the meringe ones from Harris Teeter. I wonder if this would have made a difference? Easy and Fabulous! An entertaining favorite! 02/12/2006 at 02:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe is wonderful. It is so easy. I have made it several times...sometimes with vanilla instead of cinnamon...you can make it a little sweeter when the berries aren't so wonderful. Very flexible and impossible to mess up. The meringue must go on at the very end and adds a wonderful crunchy textural surprise. A huge hit every time! It was the perfect ending. The Mascarpone cream was easy to put together earlier in the afternoon. I omitted the merinques -- too sweet. |
