This dish was easy to make and tasty. However, I believe it would be better with pasta and it needed a oregano.

This recipe was fantastic. My husband, who is Italian, absolutely loved it. It has wonderful flavors. I used a can of diced tomatoes plus a diced fresh tomato. I also served with whole wheat pasta, and used a bit of the pasta water to give the sauce moore, well, sauce. Every one of Juan Carlos-Cruz's recipes I have made have been winners.

I've never had spagetti squash and was intrigued with this recipe when I saw it featured on Weighing In. I simply cannot say enough great things about this recipe. My husband who doesn't like me experimenting with food too much absolutely loved it!! Maybe it was just my oven but I did have to cook my squash 30 minutes longer for total of an hour. Don't leave out the turkey sausage to save more calories and fat. The sausage makes this dish. I highly recommend this recipe to all!

I actually made this a little easier, I didn't use this sauce, I just used my own from the store and spiced it up with garlic, chicken, and a bay leaf. I LOVED the idea of using squash instead of noodles. My boyfriend wasn't so keen on it though, so to make it for him I'd probably do 50/50 of squash and noodles but I loved it.

If you are looking for something delicious and differnet to do with spaghetti squash, you MUST try this recipie. It came out better than what I even excpected - the hot turkey sausage meatballs made this dish, It was delicious and very satisfying. The only thing I left out was the capers because I don't like them and I just used store bought halved kalamata olives(i didn't chop them ant further).

Anything with this few calories that still tastes good gets 5 stars in my opinion. The only hard part of the recipe was actually cutting the spaghetti squash in half. Hot sausage gave it a great kick.

Worth trying

I had no idea that a squash could do that. My oven required I leave it a while longer. Also I didnt have all the ingredients such as capers or basil, but made it my own with other spices. The sauce and meatballs make this recipie. My husband and I will make it again.

This was a great tasty recipe! My family really liked it. My 6 and 8 year old liked the "meat balls" the best. They were not fond of the Kalamata olives. My 10 and 13 year old as well as my husband and I loved it. We could have eaten the whole bowl ourselves. I would highly recommend for a low fat meal.

If you have not cooked w/ Spaghetti squash before, this is a great recipe. It's all about the sauce, and this sauce is very nice w/ the olives & capers. I'm going to use my tomato sauce next time w/ homade meatballs (beef).

I heard about this dish on Weighing In and wanted to try it since it sounded like a great alternative to the usual spaghetti and meatballs. Well I was right. This dish is not only easy but delicious. I used the hot turkey sauge which gave a nice little kick. This dish is now a great addition to the family menu.

Fantastic! I added 1 medium onion, chopped and browned it after the meatballs. I had no fresh basil so I used dried. My husband was not too happy when I told him what we were going to have for dinner as he "hates squash" but he was a huge fan. He especially liked being able to have bread with the meal and not feeling "carb overloaded"

Interesting texture with a robust italian taste.

If you've never had spaghetti squash, it's definitely not a sustitute for pasta.. it's interesting. The sauce is really good, it tastes almost like a puttanesca.. i made this for the first time this evening.. i think that maybe boiling the squash i would have enjoyed the consistency more? I'd make the sauce again but maybe with whole wheat pasta instead.

What a wonderful option for those cutting down on pasta! As much as the price of the Kalamata Olives shocked me ($6 a jar!?) they were well worth it and really made the recipe. I substituted artichoke hearts (not the marinated ones) for the capers, which added nice texture. This dish even passed the toughest test...my 76 year old mother! She loves it! Thanks for such a wonderful recipe. I plan on making this for my next "b.y.o." pot luck dinner to share with friends. Thanks!

I found the recipe to be very easy to follow except for the spaghetti squash weight. I ended getting a squash which was way to big. I thought the recipe was filling without feeling bloated
