wonderful 12/10/2005 at 08:43pm User: kathy from mckinleyville, CA User Rating: My kids liked this. I liked the fact Applesauce is used instead of extra sugar. Fab for low-cal, low-fat cookies 11/26/2005 at 01:13pm User: Anonymous User Rating: You can definitely tell they're not full-fat, full-calorie....they are a little bit cakey. However, they're quite flavorful and the best "healthy" cookies I've ever had. I made them with dried cherries instead of cranberries-yum! What a great healthy cookie.... 11/08/2006 at 06:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've been looking for recipes for healthy treats and this one fits the bill...They are really good and full of flavor. I think I might try making them with pumpkin next time and add some nuts. I highly recommend this recipe!! You're kidding, right? 10/22/2007 at 12:40pm User: Susan from Virginia Beach, VA User Rating: I decided to make this recipe based on so many good reviews. Are you people crazy? This has got to be one of the worst things I have ever tasted! I should have heeded the advice from the gentleman claiming it tasted like cardboard. Then again, I can even make cardboard edible... this has no hope. YUCK!! Great Cookies 10/07/2007 at 03:44pm User: Lisa from Pottstown, PA User Rating: These cookies are great. They're healthy and moist. I'd use more craisins next time though. Great cookies! 10/03/2006 at 05:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These cookies are great! I think all oatmeal cookie lovers should try this! Really Tasty and Healthy 09/18/2005 at 10:49pm User: Heidy from Dayton, OH User Rating: This recipe was a hit with those in my family who are watching their health and calorie intake. The cookies are very moist and have great flavor. A Virtuous Treat! 08/24/2006 at 08:48pm User: Leonora from Yorktown, VA User Rating: I too used brown sugar Splenda, and the outcome was great. Now I won't feel so guilty when I splurge! pretty good for "healthy" cookies 08/23/2007 at 11:58pm User: IAN from Mahtomedi, MN User Rating: good and moist. could use a little more flavor. the whole wheat flour is better than white. Great low fat/low calorie cookies! 08/16/2006 at 03:55am User: Anonymous User Rating: I think that this cookie is a great alternative for those people who are watching their weight. I used cinnamon flavored apple sauce, orange flavored crasins, orange zest and Splenda brown sugar and found these to sweeten the recipe. In the future, I am going to try using some peanut butter and chocolate chips for a more desert-like treat. These cookies are a great snack for any time of the day and so easy to make. I will be making them again soon! Yummy 07/14/2005 at 12:03pm User: Jen from York, PA User Rating: These cookies were very good! I kept eating the raw cookie dough. I followed the recipe, except for using sugar-free applesauce. Next time I might try regular applesauce (or even cinnamon flavored) to add a little bit more sweetness. Overall, great flavor and texture! These are great 06/30/2006 at 01:21am User: Genita from Los Angeles, CA User Rating: I love that the taste great, and they are simple to prepare. mmm Good 06/21/2005 at 09:05am User: Anonymous User Rating: These were easy to make and they taste very good - Great if you are craving a cookie and low in calories. Loved them It's pretty good. 06/17/2005 at 07:40am User: Mary Lee from Wheaton, IL User Rating: I'll deffinately make these cookies when I'm with people who only want healthy food. Those who are used to more conventional cookies will reach for the double chocolate chips first. A Great Breakfast Cookie 06/12/2005 at 07:33pm User: katie from juneau, AK User Rating: This cookie is not sweet at all and makes a wonderful breakfast cookie. I didn't have cranberries so I used raisins. Odd Texture 06/05/2007 at 12:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Maybe I'm just too accustomed to traditional oatmeal cookies, but the lack of butter in these made the texture very strange and unappealing. Healthy Alternative 06/03/2007 at 07:40pm User: Anonymous User Rating: As oatmeal cookie lovers, we were sceptical at first. But were surprised that yummy, low-cal and oatmeal cookie could actually go together! Agree with several other reviews. (1) these would make great breakfast bars. (2) mixing wet and dry ingredients seperately is crucial. Easy, healthy--what more could you want 05/31/2005 at 03:48pm User: Laura from Shoreline, WA User Rating: This recipe has been requested by just about every person who has tried it, and I didn't even have nutmeg to put in! Where else can you find a cookie with 2 grams of fiber that tastes this good? It works well as a base for ice-cream sandwich cookies, as shown on the show, too. Great cake cookies 05/22/2005 at 02:40pm User: PAULA from hiram, GA User Rating: Very easy and very tasty. This recipe will make you steer clear of processed cookies. I love them!!!!!!!!!!! No Flavor! 05/21/2006 at 05:24pm User: Renee from Newark, CA User Rating: You have got to be kidding me. I followed the recipe exactly and there was only a slight hint of cinnamon. They had no taste! It would be good with a few chocolate chips. It needed something else for flavor. Happy, happy, joy, joy! 05/19/2005 at 10:06am User: Diane from Manchester, CT User Rating: These were my exact words to my husband as I ate a cookie and danced around the room. I am a cookbook author with VERY high standards so I was naturally skeptical about these cookies tasting as good as they looked on TV. I was thrilled with the outcome!! I made them slightly smaller making 24 cookies (using a medium scoop) instead of 18. The original size cookies have 2 WW points each but my slightly smaller cookies have only 1 point. That certainly made me happy as I could then eat 2 cookies for the "price" of one. The ultimate test came when I offered my 14 yr old son an oatmeal cookie, with no word of it being a healthy version, after he ate the first one, he ate 2 more. That speaks for itself as he'd very quickly say "This tastes like crap" and not eat 2 more to boot. In his case, no comment means he had no idea that these were low fat cookies with tons of fiber. Yippy! Juan-Carlos, thanks for sharing such a great recipe to give joy to the cookie fiends trying to lose weight. Alright 05/18/2006 at 07:08pm User: Jill from Tacoma, WA User Rating: These cookies were alright..I love how simple and 1 bowl this recipe was. My toddler loves them. Next time I may add a little splenda or a little more vanilla. But I love whole wheats and oats so this is perfect. I also used egg sub instead of a regular egg so that may have had something to do with it. Anyways this was alright for me. Dry dry dry 05/17/2007 at 01:01pm User: Tricia from Aloha, OR User Rating: These cookies tasted like cardboard with some cranberries. great! 05/15/2005 at 09:21pm User: SABRINA from Lake Oswego, OR User Rating: Not only is it great because you make it all in one bowl, it tastes pretty good, too. Just make sure to bake until golden...it took a bit longer in my oven. oatmeal cranberry cookies 04/21/2005 at 06:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: If you are trying to lose weight and you still have a sweet tooth this is the perfect solution to take care of it. They are easy and fun to make and even better to eat. Me kids 13, 9, 8, 3, and 1 all love these cookies. I highly recommend that you try them. great for bfast 04/14/2006 at 11:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I am on weight watchers and eat these several days a week for breakfast. I followed another's advice and made 24 so they are only 1 point each. They are definitely healthy tasting cookie. If you really want dessert this is not the one. pleasantly surprised 03/27/2005 at 02:45pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've tried low fat cookie recipes before and they turned out cakey rather than chewy. These cookies were delicious with the right chewy texture. You can barely tell that they're low fat. I subsituted dried blueberries for the dried cranberries. Almost like a pound cake 03/26/2006 at 03:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These aren't really cookie cookies. They are not as sweet and almost like a pound cake. If you like pound cake, I think you will like this recipe. I really loved the cranberries in them. I think I will put even more next time. It was really easy to make, too. so good 03/22/2006 at 01:22am User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these for my 3 roommates and we all loved them. I will definately use this recipe again. Next time I may add some kind of nuts, possibly chopped pecans. Yummy 02/26/2006 at 04:58pm User: Jennifer from Westminster, CA User Rating: I have a MAJOR sweet tooth so this is perfect for me. Very moist and healthy. They are filling too! I felt very full after eating 2!! My 1 yr old son loved them too. Picky eaters probably wouldnt like these though. Thanks for the great recipe :) Healthy Breakfast Bars 02/19/2006 at 07:50pm User: Michelle from Washington, DC User Rating: New favorite in our house. Instead of cookie style I put the entire mixture in an 11x7 pyrex pan and make breakfast bars -GREAT replacement for processed, preservative filled packaged bars. Instead of applesauce, I blended organic blueberries to make blueberry sauce and added dried blueberries. Did the same with Bananas, peanut butter. Think I will try mango/coconut, fig and pumpkin next. MAKE A DOUBLE BATCH 02/13/2006 at 05:18pm User: JOHN from Eden Prairie, MN User Rating: These are REALLY good. First bite, I wasn't sure but they sure are good. I did make a double batch and why not? I think next time I will triple it. It really doesn't make anymore effort. THE KIDS LOVE EM. I'm not much for dessert, cookies and the like so I don't eat em much, but THESE are REAL GOOD. Thanks. JCC Great for toddlers 02/05/2006 at 01:22am User: Stephanie from Nashville, TN User Rating: Not the most tasty oatmeal cookies I've ever had. I think they have too much spice & are a little spongy. They're better for breakfast. My toddler loves them, though, & I feel better about giving her these than sugarier treats. Great low-cal cookie! 01/15/2008 at 03:43pm User: LAUREN from Williamston, NC User Rating: These cookies are great for a low-cal and low-fat treat. I have made them twice. The first time I made the cookies I used cranberries and chocolate chips and the next time I just used dried cherries. I also had to substitue pre-packaged whole grain breakfast oatmeal packets because I did not have plain instant oatmeal. I used a little less sugar and they turned out great! The recipe makes about 14 regualr size cookies (not 18 as it says). Great cookie with one modification 01/06/2007 at 12:58pm User: Lisa from Indianapolis, IN User Rating: This is a super easy and yummy cookie, especially for the calorie content. The one modification that is needed is to whisk the dry ingredients together before adding the wet ingredients. WIthout this modification you will find pockets of salt or spices in some parts of the cookie and really bland tasting spots in another part of the same cookie. Another thing I may try the next time is to add the salt to the wet ingredients and whisk those together before adding. Neither step adds much to the prep but will, in my opinion, vastly improve the quality of the final product. Excellent and easy 01/01/2006 at 05:26pm User: Debra from Stanford, CA User Rating: The cookies were a big hit, and so easy. I definitely plan on making them again. |
