I have made this recipe 4 times now and every time it turns out great. Best part is that because it has so little added sugar, it fits in with my diabetic menus.

For years I have tried different recipes and they all were pretty much the same. Then I went to my daughter's for Thanksgiving and this dish was a "Big Hit". There was only a spoonful left but I took it home. It was nice and creamy and not to buttery...which is the way I like it. Even my children ate it and as a rule they don't touch it. I have to give this recipe 2 thumbs up! I will make it for Christmas. Thank You!!!

What a hit!

I am not usually a huge sweet potato person. I usually just had a bite at the holidays because you are supposed to. But this casserole was really good and my husband really liked it too! I made it for a dinner party and had people asking for the recipe.

I have made many recipes from food network and I have only rated one below a 3 and this is it. I served it at Thanksgiving and it was a bomb. I should have stuck with traditional candied yams.

We usually bake yams for Thanksgiving, but this year I went with this sweet potato casserole. I loved it! We'll never eat yams again. Although, I may try the recipe using yams since most people don't know the difference anyway.

It was not what I had expected. And the hint of sweetness was too subtle. It was very disappointing to me. :( Probably won't try it again.

Be sure the sweet potatoes are fully cooked to avoid lumps when mashed. Add extra brown sugar and/or add a bit of maple syrup if you want them sweet. A bit of fresh ginger may be interesting.

this is a great recipe for basic sweet potato casserole (which is the best kind). i use it every thanksgiving. and if you don't like pecans or are in an area where pecans are expensive, mini marshmallows are eaily substitued.

This recipe was fantastic, I happened to be visiting relatives on Easter and they served this with their ham dinner...I was skeptical about trying it because I can't stand sweet potatoes but I took some because I didn't want to offend the chef. I ate my "tablespoon" portion and then went back for more! It was like I was eating a dessert not a vegetable! It is sweet and buttery and the pecans gave it that extra something with a great crunch! It was so good I asked for the recipe and was sent here...Now my family will be enjoying this great recipe on Thanksgiving!

There have been plenty of warnings about how this sweet potato recipe shouldn't be compared with the typical holiday variety that is super sweet...well, I tried not to do so...but I did...it's good...really...but not my favorite...they need to be sweeter (sorry).

My family and I loved the sweet potato casserole. I used 2 cans of sweet potatoes (short on time), used some mini marshmallows for the topping instead of the pecans. You and your family need to try this outstanding casserole. It is so good.

Very easy, great with a roast for a holiday meal, easy to make ahead and have all ready. Tasted like a great pumpkin pie, toasted pecans on top gave a great crunch to the smooth texture of the casserole.

I made this for Thanksgiving. I was trying to find an easy recipe that didn't use the traditional "marshmallow topping". Not only did it go over big at dinner, I have given this recipe to probably a dozen friends who I had sample the dish. One of the best advantages was the ability to make it a day or so ahead of time so that all I had to do was heat it during the last hour.

Voted Best By The Whole Family!

Made this for Easter Dinner and was the biggest hit ever! I was ordered to never make them any other way. The casserole was light and airy and tasty. I baked the potatoes the day before and heated them in the microwave before mashing. After baking, I then transported the whole thing to my daughter's home and placed it in the over to keep warm. Both adults and kids loved it, and so did I!

It was ok, but didn't love it.

I followed directions but this lacked the sweetness of a Sweet Potato casserole. I did not like the taste of the ginger maybe 1/2 tsp is too much? I usually make my own but wanted to try this one. I will never make this again...ugh.

Even though I didn't particularly like sweet potatoes, but my family and I tried it over Thanksgiving 2 years ago, and now every time we have sweet potatoes I am asked to make this recipie. Now we do with out the pecans. What I do to cut back on the time in the oven, I boil the potatoes first to cook them, then mash them like regular potatoes. (using a blender). Then combine all the ingredients and spread in the pan, then put marshmellows in then put it in the oven to melt them and heat through.

A little more of this and that

I traded in th epecans for walnuts and added TWO more tablesoons of brown sugar. This sweetend the dish a little more and the walnuts were not as dry as the pecans.

My husband and I both liked it. I usually just get yams out of a can, so my first experience fixing them from scratch. I cooked them first in the microwave instead of the oven. It went well with the ham and wilted spinach I fixed for our Easter dinner. Not too complicated to make from scratch. Tyler gives good instructions. I had a great Easter dinner thanks to food network and Tyler.

This sweet potato casserole was perfect- not too sweet, light and airy. My family loved them with their Easter ham. I even made them ahead of time, put them in the refrigerator (minus the pecans) then before dinner put on the pecans and baked them as directed. They were wonderful.

I loved this receipe. I tried it out this year when it was not my turn to cook, but will use it next year on guests. However, something happened for me between the bowl and taking it out of the oven. In the bowl, it was so good I kept nibbling. I transfered it and baked it, but it was not as good as in the mix in the bowl. I think I would omit ginger next time and up the nutmeg. Fresh grated nutmeg is a keeper! Otherwise it was fantasitc and my boyfriend and I ate it up!

I don't know if it was the kosher salt or not but the flavor tasted very salty, so i added more brown suger and some cinnamon suger which did the trick! I also added a crumbly crust by combing some flour, brown sugar, and soften butter, and sprinkled it on top before adding the pecans, the fam loved it!
