It was beyond fantastic. I made this for a potluck at work and received the highest praise. I did find that it took about double the butter and i added extra honey. Brilliant Recipe Sir

This is the first time I made baklava. It took about 2 hrs to make but turned out absolutely delicious. All my family and friends loved it. It was better than anything I have had at any bakery or restaurant. I will be making it again very soon. Thanks for a wonderful recipe.

According to my calculations, if you followed the recipe directly, there's 215 calories and 14g fat per piece. When I made the recipe, I ended up using 1 stick of butter and occasionally cheated by laying 2-3 phyllo layers down and buttering. It's no big deal, you just end up with a flakier baklava, still tastes great. Also, I didn't have any ground clove, so I threw 4 whole cloves into the syrup, which worked fine. No cinnamon sticks either; used 1 tsp ground cinnamon instead. didn't bother with the lemon zest so can't comment on that. overall, turned out great. Also, I started drizzling a little syrup over the ground walnut layers, turned out okay; I don't think it made a diff.

Another great recipe from Emeril!!

It's no wonder that you are one of the world's greatest chefs! This recipe is fantastic! Thw syrup is nice and light & is the perfect amount over the baklava. It makes beautiful fluffy layers of phyllo dough. This is an attractive looking dessert & is sure to impress everyone! You've really out-done yourself Emeril! Thanks!

These turned out insanely great! I made them for my mom, who is one of the biggest baklava fanatics ever, and she LOVED them. She said they tasted like they came from a specialty bakery! They were easy to make, though time-consuming, but it was worth every minute. The combination of flavors in the syrup is superb. My search for the perfect baklava recipe is over.

Excellent and easy to make

This was wonderful-the smell was great and the flavor is delicious. Very time consuming though. It would probably be faster next time because I don't work with phyllo dough very often so was a bit nervous. Definitely worth the time!!

very good

My first attempt at preparing Baklava at home, and of course I turn to Emeril! The recipe was easy enough, and as usual, proclaimed by all - BUT, when I doubled the recipe I found the juice from 4 lemons a little stronger than I prefer. The lemon portion of this recipe could be halved. Nevertheless, my family enjoys, I'll I'll probably try it again!

Such a tasty Treat!

LOVE THIS DISH AND NEVER THOUGHT I COULD MAKE IT OR MESS WITH PHILO DOUGH. AFTER WATCHING EMERIL, AND SEEING HOW EASY HE MADE IT LOOK ESPECIALLY THE LITTLE HINTS OF KEEPING DOUGH MOIST WITH A WET DISH TOWEL, I WILL NOW MAKE THIS MY SIGNATURE DISH FOR ALL MY PARTIES. MY HUSBAND COULD NOT BELIEVE HOW DELICIOUS IT WAS AND NEITHER COULD MY MOTHER! THANKS EMERIL!

I am not a professional chef in any sense, the recipe says medium difficulty, but don't let that scare you away. It was a great learning experience though, as it was my first dish I had ever made with phyllo dough. The finished product was not as chewy as the baklava I enjoy from my favorite greek restaurant. Possibly more liquid or less baking time would have helped. It was a great learning experience though, as it was my first dish I had ever made with

I have always loved Baklava and tried making it for the first time this year for Easter. It was a big hit. It was not hard at all to make, just a little time consuming. I left out the Cardamon because I did not have it and was not familar with the flavor. I also used Walnuts and pecans for the nuts. It was very good and will make it again.

I am now well know as a fantastic cook and every man I work with is jealous of husband, for I am such a great cook!!
