Since I am not a fan of traditional pie crust, I made this in an oreo crumb crust and it was delicious!

How about rating on taste, rather than the slight mess Emeril made of the crust. Taste is what counts and that's why I gave the highest rating. He did the Italian tradition well.

I can not believe that Emil made such a mess of this recipe on the show. We Italians have been doing these special Easter pies for geneations. I watch the food Network show everyday, and the one thing I have noticed is that Emil must not be a baker. He is a great cook, but not a baker. The pie crust that he made is a very delicate crust, and only with years of experiene are you able to master the art of making it. You tried Emil, but......
