My family loved this. I'm sure we'll be making it all summer long with the cucumbers from our garden! I used dried dill, instead of fresh, and it still turned out wonderful.

This is a nice start to a worthwhile recipe, but as is, I think it's far too bland. Next time I'll try to perk it up by reducing the mayo (maybe to 1:1 with the sour cream) and adding some 1/4 to 1/2 tsp of hot sauce. If that doesn't taste great, then maybe some additional herbs. Dill alone in all that sour cream & mayo is just too ordinary.

I believe I would of like this dish better if I hadn't pair it with potato salad. Both were covered with dressing(mayo). I like a crisper cucumber salad. I served it at a BBQ..the potato salad was a hit. Not many people ate the cucumbers. Maybe I did something wrong however I followed the recipe and I had a great cucumber.I might try it again without serving potato salad also.

I am so happy that I found this recipe! My whole family loves it..especially my husband! We had our children and grandsons over for dinner and I made it for the first time. It was a HIT! Made this dish as part of my Christmas dinner. Wanted something a little different than the traditional green salad so I made this as well. Not only was it simple but delicious. With a mandolin,slicing the cucumbers was a breeze. I recommed that you prepare this the morning of your event so it has time to chill(with the exception of slicing the cucumbers) but not the night before, because the dressing can become thin.

This salad was so refreshing. The process to drain the cucumbers was a little timely but really important to keep the salad from getting slimey. I would probably even drain them a little longer next time.

The only seasoning is fresh dill and a little black pepper? Try adding some garlic or onion powder (or thinly sliced onions) or a splash of lemon juice (it won't curdle the dressing) to jazz it up. Just cucumbers and the creamy dressing is pretty bland. I have the same complaint about Paula's squash casserole from another show. Sounded and looked good, but in reality it needs something!

Just like my mom used to make, but I didn't have the recipe. I added fresh mint leaves, also, which gave it an additional bit of freshness. Will definitely make it all summer long with our over-abundance of cucumbers in the hot Sacramento Valley. Thank you, Paula!

I'm a senior citizen (complete food junkie) and have been eating cucumbers and cream for ever. This is the best I have ever tasted. I happen to like some slivers of Vidalia onion in the salad. I've made this endless times. Sometimes I need to add a tad of milk so the consistency pleases me. I've been a fan of Paula's since she was on ready set cook. Keep the faith.

I made this receipe for a family picnic and everyone loved it. I cut up some red onion with the cucumbers and let them set with the salt and vinegar it tasted great with the fresh dill. This was a re-freshing dish for Spring and it will be on my table at Easter. Thank you Paula for another great recipe for my family.

Our three preschoolers LOVED this recipe! My husband and I, however, prefer a little more cucumbers and much less dressing. We all enjoy cucumbers, and we usually have them with just a little salt and pepper, vinegar and oil. I think we'll just stick with that. You know the old saying, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". :)

This salad was so delicious my husband and I could not stop eating it. For something so easy, it was criminal that it was so good. I did add some red onion slices because my husband loves onion and it really added to the salad. But as Paula says the beauty of a recipe is that you can change it. I can't rave enough about this recipe!

This salad was excellent. Very creamy and the dill added so much flavor. I used an unusual cucumber in the salad that had a very unique flavor. The cucumbers were the yellow variety. About the size of a small baseball. I will definitely use this salad recipe again.

The first time I made this I followed the directions exactly. It was good but I thought it needed something extra. The second time, I added garlic and razor thin slices of red onion. I liked it better and will continue to make it this way. The rest of the base is perfect!

This has now become our favorite recipe for creamed cucumbers!!! One of the nicest features of this recipe, is that the dressing doesn't become runny since the use of the salt and vinegar draws out the excess moisture. They are even better the next day!!!

I am 9 months pregnant and made this salad 2 weeks ago, pretty much as written except for I used chives instead of dill as that is what I have in my garden. I don't know if it's the salad or some crazy pregnancy craving, but I have made it THREE times in two weeks. I can't get enough! It's quite good, and I can't stress how much taking the time to drain the cucumbers makes all the difference. Another great & easy Paula Deen recipe.

This salad is tasty, but the kosher salt made the cucumbers really salty. I had to pack this for a road trip so I individually dried each slice with a paper towel. I made this with fat free sour cream and fat free mayo for my diabetic dad, and it tasted pretty good!

This recipe is exactly like my Mom's and Grandma's recipe, except that they added sliced green or white onions to the soaking liquid. When combined with the dressing, the onions add extra zip and crunch. Thanks again, Paula:)

I have tried to make cucumber salad before...but the extra step with salting the cukes and letting them drain made for an amazingly creamy salad. No watery mess! So creamy and cool to eat when it's hot out!

I had several of my fellow teachers over for a summertime luncheon. They raved about how great the salad was and I actually ran out before we had gotten to our main course! As Paula said, you MUST take the time to drain the water from your cucumbers otherwise the salad does not look as pretty nor taste as delicious.

this was very good i even had to make it twice in one day..the first time i did the directions to the tee...the second time i let it drain the first 30 min then patted dry and whiped it up without having to drain because my kids were screaming for more mom more...it didnt have time to get water down..so if your going to eat it right away go ahead and gobble away...

I made this cucumber salad just slightly different. Instead of sprinkling the vinegar on the sliced cucumbers with the salt, I added the vinegar to the mayo/sour cream mixture and a pinch of sugar. Definitely a keeper!

It's a good concept. Healthy, tasty cucumbers dressed up with fresh dill and creamy mayo and sour cream. It's a refreshing side dish. My husband and I both felt like it was missing something though... it needs some kick. In addition to the fresh dill, I sprinkled some dried dill as well to enhance the flavor, but that didn't really give it enough flavor. I may try using the base for her pea salad and through in some crumbled hard-boiled egg and chopped onions. We'll see. I might make this again.
