Best kale I ever ate 11/15/2005 at 02:23am User: Anonymous User Rating: This is an easy and surprisingly delicious recipe for kale (greens). I had a little less than a pound of kale but used all the other ingredient measurements according to the recipe. The final results were great and I will certainly make this again - and again - and - well, you know. Great alternative to standard boiled greens 11/13/2006 at 07:04pm User: Tracy from Rockwall, TX User Rating: Exceptional taste, just a hint of spice. Supberb with cabbage as well. Great and Easy 11/09/2007 at 06:13pm User: Laura from East Brookfield , MA User Rating: We enjoy this quick and easy recipe. Greens can be a bit daunting, but this is a great introduction to such a healthy veggie. it was just okay 10/25/2006 at 11:10pm User: Anonymous User Rating: maybe i should've cooked the kale longer... i didn't really like the sweet/sour combination with the greens No more scary greens!!! 09/06/2007 at 06:28pm User: Jo from lexington, KY User Rating: I grew up in KY and my husband (a chef) grew up in Southern CA, so he'd avoided much of the dark, leafy green torture I endured as a child. In an effort to eat a healthier variety of foods, we decided to attempt to find a way to make them edible, which is how we stumbled upon this recipe. We use kale and substitute sesame oil for the sesame seeds & it's turned out perfectly every single time. The lemon really brightens up the flavor a LOT. My only other advice would be to not stop cooking them until they turn from deep, bright green to more of a darker, dull green. The flavor doesn't change, but it makes the greens easier to chew. This is a staple at our house! impressively easy! 09/02/2007 at 04:02pm User: Tess from Minneapolis, MN User Rating: I used an electric wok for this recipe and it impressed my guests with how wonderful it tastes and impressed me with how easy it is! I used half spinach and half arugula... perfect zest and perfect bite! Lemon Sesame Glazed Greens 08/20/2006 at 07:52pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Looks good and tastes yummy! Great recipe for greens 08/12/2005 at 10:13am User: Anonymous User Rating: Best recipe for greens that I've tried; they really absorb the flavors. Used about a half teaspoon of sesame oil instead of the seeds. Yummy! 06/22/2007 at 11:48pm User: Catherine from Lacey, WA User Rating: I really loved this recipe. I used mustard greens. My only complaint is that it was too salty, maybe a third of the salt would have sufficed. I also think that sesame oil would have added a punch of flavor but the sesame seeds added texture so maybe a combination of both. Otherwise it was an excellent dish! Quick and delicious 04/14/2008 at 10:36pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Quick and delicious, this turns out a lovely tangy dish. Very simple and tasty 03/24/2008 at 07:45pm User: Patricia from Philadelphia, PA User Rating: I cook greens every week since I have a history of anemia. I get bored with the same recipes every week so I have been searching for a new addition to my repertoire. I am very happy with the way this came out. I made the recipe with mustard greens (first time trying them) but next time will use my favorite green, kale. Tasty! 03/18/2007 at 08:39am User: Anonymous User Rating: Very tasty way to eat kale. So disappointing 03/13/2008 at 12:35am User: CHLOE from Chicago, IL User Rating: I love greens and sauteed greens, but this turned out horrible. wayyyyyy too much salt. i'm sorry alton! i swear, i really do love you. Roasting with Peas 03/09/2008 at 06:36pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great recipe. It's a really nice way to enjoy kale. The suggestion to use the roasting pan over two burners makes it so much easier to cook the kale. If I may be so bold to suggest an alternative in the recipe, I would suggest adding a can of rinsed black eyed peas (canned) right after the greens. Nice way to add some protien to the dish and some good additional flavor. (Not totally my idea, kale and BEPs is the basis of a Syrian dish called 'sleek'). Absolutely Delicious! 02/28/2007 at 10:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I am not a huge fan of bitter greens, but this recipe was delicious and easy. I loved them. Very Good Greens 02/01/2007 at 09:10pm User: Alexander from Rossford, OH User Rating: Reintroduced me to the wonderful bitter-crisp kale. The acidity of the lemon and the heat from the pepper work great together to create a very simple, mouth-watering flavor. A dish that will become a staple side dish in my house. Hmmm? 01/24/2007 at 10:30am User: Anonymous User Rating: A bit bitter for my taste. MMMMM 01/21/2006 at 01:40am User: Victoria from Ravena, NY User Rating: I made it with spinach and it turned out great. Very flavorful and really easy to make. Will definitely use the recipie again. |
