A treat for family and company! 07/07/2008 at 07:42pm User: debbie from southern pines, NC User Rating: Mmmm - we made this dish right after Michael "showed us how", and we are all better fed and more knowledgeable because of his teaching! We all loved this with a simple salad and bread. Mom tossed in some kalamata olives to the sauce just because we nibbled them while cooking - this made a beautiful contrast to the already lovely dish. You will want to keep this recipe as we did. Enjoy! Wonderful! 06/17/2008 at 10:41pm User: Sandra from nocity, WA User Rating: Wonderfully tasteful sauce and very easy to make. I used a hot Italian sausage and eliminated the serrano peppers and it had a very nice kick to it. I would definately make this again, perhaps for company. Perfect Sausage Pasta Sauce 03/01/2007 at 11:33am User: K from San Diego, CA User Rating: My husband who is not a huge fan of pasta dishes loved this one. I will make again! Not so spicy 02/04/2007 at 02:49pm User: Carol from Lancaster, NY User Rating: This is an excellent recipe. It is now a standard in our house but we do not like it so spicy. We use mild Italian saugage and leave out the hot peppers. The FRESH basil gives it a delightful fresh & light flavor. nice and spicy 10/24/2006 at 03:13pm User: maria from modesto, CA User Rating: I loved this sauce! I like hot and spicy and this was really good!! picnic food 10/13/2006 at 10:50am User: Emily from Marshall, MI User Rating: I made this for an anniversary picnic for my husband and he ate almost all of it in one sitting. New Format... 10/11/2006 at 09:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Why did you change format on screen & recipe printout? Can't get full screen & printing on only left side of paper is such a WASTE. A sweet change to spice 10/06/2006 at 07:50pm User: Troy from Hemet, CA User Rating: After the same sauce i've always made I decided it was time for change. So finding this recipe for a spicy sauce (the opposite to my very own sweetened sauce) was great opportunity for something new, and great it was. Suprisingly enough my girlfriend loved it, so now it has become part of the dinner schedule. Thank You!! chef.ahmed khalil 08/13/2006 at 02:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: chef ahmed khalil Sauce with some kick 07/30/2006 at 04:45pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Easy sauce to make, that tastes great and is pretty hot. Use hot italian sausage, and it really gets your attention. The basil and chiles add great flavor to it. Don't try this if you dont like the sauce to dominate the pasta. Very good 06/20/2006 at 11:02pm User: Gina from Gilbert, AZ User Rating: but not outstanding - the flavors were good, but the consistency of the sauce was a bit runny....also maybe a good idea to pierce the casings of the sausage before cooking them? Great! 05/03/2006 at 07:38pm User: Mallory from anywhere, NV User Rating: I love spicy foods so I used a bit more Serrano Chiles then called for. The fresh basil leaves & Serrano Chiles really made this recipe just right. Will make again! Thank you Michael!!!! 04/03/2006 at 04:18pm User: Jenette from milwaukee, WI User Rating: This sauce had GREAT flavor. I used 1 serrano and 1 anaheim just to keep it on the med heat side, and added diced eggplant with cilantro and it was wonderful! A Keeper for sure! Great Pasta that pleased the kids! 01/24/2006 at 08:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Finally I have a recipe for everyone to enjoy. My husband and I got to enjoy an easy pasta dish with great flavor and the kids liked it too. It was spicy, but not so spicy that the children wouldn't eat it. Thanks Michael! Good Standard Recipe 10/31/2005 at 08:52pm User: terence from New York, NY User Rating: I didn't give this recipe 3 stars because of the taste. It tastes great. But it's a pretty standard and simple recipe that's common everywhere. Even if you didn't know the recipe, you could probably improvise. Very Versatile 10/28/2005 at 10:41pm User: Chuck from Los Altos, CA User Rating: When I open my bar, this will be on the menu. Ladle it on a ciabatta roll with some melted provolone. Next time, I will add some beer to the poaching liquid, and finish the sauce with some red wine. Thank you, Michael. This was real tastey! 10/02/2005 at 09:30pm User: Tiffany from Franklin, TN User Rating: I tried this tonight with my family and everyone loved it! My 10 month old ate his whole bowel! We'll for sure eat it again soon... I used a can of half diced tomatoes half chilies instead of the sliced chilies. Great Sausage Sauce 09/14/2005 at 08:41pm User: George from Port Orange, FL User Rating: I made the sausage sauce a bit spicy but I guess that's the whole point. Just the right amount of spicy! Mamma Michele's Review 06/15/2005 at 09:41am User: Michele from Washington, MI User Rating: I served this sauce for ten people the other night and got applause. I did change it a little though. I did not use ther serrano chilies, but, used crushed red pepper instead. I let the sauce set overnight in the refirgerator and before serving I saute'd more sliced garlic and a variety of sliced mushrooms and added to to the sauce right before serving. BELLISSIMO! Spicy! 05/03/2005 at 01:21pm User: Carrie from Potomac Falls, VA User Rating: Excellent sauce for pasta - loved it! |
