A must do 12/28/2006 at 06:03pm User: Brian from Fort Polk, LA User Rating: Best Kalbi since I was stationed in Korea 91-92. I used brown sugar and marinated for 24 hours then grilled over charcoal 10 minutes on each side at 275 degrees. it was wonderful 11/10/2005 at 05:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i loved it and my family did too. thank you Yum 08/21/2007 at 12:55am User: Anonymous User Rating: Absolutely delicious! Simple yet good marinade 08/21/2006 at 01:39am User: Dan from San Jose, CA User Rating: I used the marinade on chicken drumsticks and they came out great. I only had time to marinate for 2 hours, and definitely recommend marinating overnight for more flavor. I'm going to try the short ribs next weekend. I plan to tinker a bit by adding some ginger, and little more sugar. First time but not the last! 08/19/2006 at 09:17am User: Cindy from Leesburg, FL User Rating: First time I had ever made short ribs. I didn't have sake so I made them with bourbon. My husband and I loved them! Very Good 08/06/2005 at 11:38am User: Octavio from Calexico, CA User Rating: I really liked this recipe even though bobby is not my favourite cook. The only thing I doctored was the amount of garlic which I doubled+ (after all Koreans are the biggest garlic consumers per capita) and I mashed it with a little salt in my marble mortar and pestle. Two thubs up for BF. By the way, I only rate 5 stars to incredibly good recipes which blow my mind so that is why it was a 4 stars. Good Beef 07/31/2005 at 03:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was a wonderful recipe. I would make this over and over again. I would also try the marinade on chicken. missing ingredient 07/22/2006 at 11:47pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I watched this show on tv and can't believe they didn't tell (in the recipe)how to eat these short ribs with the lettuce and sticky rice and one of the key ingredients for this recipe is hot pepper paste (sunchang gochujang) this really adds a great flavor to this recipe. Try it... Spice it up 07/07/2006 at 08:53pm User: Yevette from Lake Stevens, WA User Rating: I added serrano chiles and ginger to this and it is great. Quick and easy 06/09/2005 at 04:18pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I decided to make this with chicken and used sangrea instead of rice wine. It was delicious and easy. Whipped it together a hour before a party and everyone loved it. A keeper 06/05/2006 at 01:33pm User: Iris from Saginaw, MI User Rating: This one's definitely a keeper with some minor adjustments. I used 1/4 inch short ribs cut across the bone. I also increased the amount of sugar to 1 cup brown sugar. When it's too cold to grill, I bake it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 mins then flip ribs over for another 15 mins. Try our kalbi next time! 05/26/2008 at 08:11pm User: Anonymous User Rating: We use USDA certified angus beef and marinate them in our family recipe. Check us out at www.momsbbqribs.com Shawn Really good... but a little too much sesame oil 05/24/2008 at 10:41pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Made this for my family and all liked it, but I do agree with other reviewers that it could use more sugar... My biggest complaint though is that I think it has a little too much sesame oil. I love the flavor sesame oil adds to food, but when its too much, it is overpowering. I'd half the amount of sesame oil in the recipe. korean style riba 04/11/2007 at 10:35pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My whole family and fiends loved these ribs when i cooked them for my moms business party. they went very well. So i had to keep the recipe aropund for future use..thanks. very chewy ribs 01/08/2007 at 10:58am User: Barrie from Charleston, SC User Rating: Didn't like recipe- meat wasn't tender even though it was cooked. |
