Perfectly Matched 12/31/2005 at 06:56pm User: marlo from Goose Creek, SC User Rating: I tried this and was stunned at how perfect it came out, instead of using white tortilla i used wheat and a sundried tomato tortilla it was perfect w/ tomato soup Fantastic! 12/31/2005 at 11:36am User: JONI from Cranberry Township, PA User Rating: I made these last night, but substituted fresh basil for the parsley. These are delicious! Everybody loved them. I made them in the George Foreman grill instead of frying them. Yummm! 12/17/2007 at 02:17pm User: Rosario from Caguas, PR User Rating: Light, easy, fresh and favorful. I did my little twists on the recipe cause I was short on ingredients: used basil instead of parsley and Gouda instead of Fontina. The basil worked beautifully! Easy, delicious, impressive 12/16/2007 at 03:39pm User: Colleen from Fort Wayne, IN User Rating: I added balsamic vinegar to the onions. My guests loved them, and so did I. Easy and SO delicious! Best Quesadillas Ever 12/16/2006 at 11:32am User: Ann from Charleston, SC User Rating: These are easy and delicious. Served them 3 times in one weekend. A BIG hit every time. Great to prepare ahead and grill when ready. Lunch with a salad was light and good then appetizers at an impromptu get together were eaten before I could get them all cooked. Excellente! 12/14/2005 at 12:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: These were very easy to make and delicious. I would suggest making ahead of time since the cooking part is the least time consuming portion of the recipe, plus cleanup is done except for the griddle. I served w/sour cream and next time will also use pesto for an interesting twist. These are amazing 11/30/2006 at 03:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I added some chopped grilled chicken (added some italian seasoning when i was sauteeing it) and basil, nixed the parsley. Absolutely perfect in whole wheat tortillas. Loved them! 11/29/2006 at 04:37pm User: Teresa from Charlotte, NC User Rating: Fantastic recipe! Tweaked it a little by sauteeing the onions in Giada's Chile Oil from her spicy chicken recipe. Also, added sauteed mushrooms - made it more hearty - an entree instead of an appetizer. Will definitely add this to our regulars. Awesome! 11/10/2005 at 10:06am User: GEORGIA from Yonkers, NY User Rating: This is DELICIOUS and so easy to make. The sauteed onions and the melted fontina really make this dish! I put it together with the green bean and tuna salad for a lighter dinner, both were to die for! Delicious 10/19/2005 at 09:41am User: Christina from Miami Lakes, FL User Rating: I don't consider myself very handy in the kitchen. I've never even bought fresh herbs before this recipe. However, it was very easy to put together and so yummy. It has given me the confidence to be a little creative the next time I make these. Very good 10/15/2006 at 06:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very good A KEEPER 10/07/2005 at 09:25pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great, and easy, recipe! Restaurant Quality Quesadillas 09/18/2005 at 03:01pm User: Cherie from Butler, PA User Rating: I could not believe these quesadillas! They were as good, or better, than any quesadilla I've had in any restaurant. And I made them myself! Definitely will make again when I want to show off! Wonderful!!! 09/17/2005 at 09:11pm User: WENDY from charleston, SC User Rating: I just tried the Italian Quesadillas and I love them! They are easy to make and put together and are simply wonderful! wendy charleston sc. Excellent! 09/17/2005 at 09:51am User: Shanele from Greensboro, NC User Rating: I made these for a dinner party! Everyone was impressed! These were so good plus they were very easy to make! The combination of the Fontina Cheese, red peppers were great. These will be made again in our home. I did, however, did not add the sugar - sounded odd. Hubby was a big help too! He grated the cheese for me :) Good & average 09/09/2005 at 05:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Good & average recipe! I was going to give suggestions/pointers. Then, I decided not to. But, I have got to say this. Ok, many of you might not know how to cook OR just need a little more experience under your belt, but what's keeping you from being creative? Use your imagination. Create. Experiment with different foods. By gosh, I lived in the States most of my life, & when I first tried quesadillas, I was already brainstorming how to make them better and how to make it 'mine'. And, then I leaned it toward my own culture/ethnic background. I'm sorry; I'm not trying to anger or upset anyone, but I'm shocked ... doesn't anybody cook anymore? Doesn't anybody think, create, imagine? A recipe is like an 'antipasto' - it should stimulate the senses; stimulate the appetite -- stimulate the imagination! A Big Hit 09/08/2005 at 05:04pm User: Ellen from Hebron, ME User Rating: I made these for a luncheon today and everyone raved about them. They went over really well...delicious! Very tasty 09/02/2005 at 11:36pm User: J from Palatine, IL User Rating: I thought the receipt was pretty easy and you can reduce the time it takes to cook by using a George forman grill since it cooks both sided at the same time. I though there might not be enough items in the quesadiallas so I added Purdues Italian season chicken, which you can find at the grocery store. It added a little more to the meal to make everyone fuller. But over all, I thought the receipe was awesome, something I would make at least once or a month. Very tasty!! Be Creative 08/31/2005 at 07:33pm User: Ed from Ft Myers, FL User Rating: The first time that we prepared this recipe we followed as close as possible. The second time we were creative and added additional items and it was very good. Simple & Yummy 08/30/2007 at 10:48pm User: Kerri from Wahiawa, HI User Rating: My husband found this recipe and made it for me one night. Very tasty. Even my 16 month old ate it up. I will be sharing this recipe with everyone. Thank you could use a little something extra 08/09/2006 at 12:49am User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this for my family, and my mom and dad raved about it, but we all agreed that some shredded chicken would really complete it. Incredible!!! 08/08/2005 at 10:08pm User: CAROLYN from Boston, MA User Rating: Make these for your next party and you will have people complementing you all night long....seriously. They're awesome. Very Good 08/03/2007 at 07:02pm User: Janice from Methuen, MA User Rating: I added some pre-roasted chicken from the market and made a meal as opposed to appetizers. Both hubby and I really enjoyed!!! Next time I will make ahead and grill on the Forman Grill as others have suggested for an even quicker cook. It's a hit! 07/10/2007 at 02:02pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I served these at our housewarming and they were gone almost immediately. People loved them. I added a little bit of garlic for a kick. I had a ton of cheese left over from the party so I made the quesadillas the next day with havarti... so good! No Fail Recipe 07/07/2007 at 08:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: This is the kind of recipe where you can vary the recipe and it still tastes great. The two critical ingredients that make this so good are the carmelized onions and fontina cheese. I substituted basil which gave it a really nice flavor - absolutely delicious recipe! Yummy! 07/04/2007 at 02:46pm User: Elise from west sacramento, CA User Rating: I would not think quesadillas with Italian cheese would taste good, but I was pleasantly surprised. I made half the recipe and used low carb low fat tortillias to make the dish lower in calories. I will definately make this one againd Delicious and Easy 07/01/2005 at 07:54pm User: Heidi from Parma, OH User Rating: The carmelized onions, roasted peppers, and fontina worked really well together. I didn't care for the parsley and will probably substitute basil next time. This was really delicious and a nice change from regular quesadillas. Fresh and Delicious 07/01/2005 at 07:06pm User: JANET from york, ME User Rating: What a wonderful twist on the old Mexican theme! We used vidalia onions and omitted the sugar. Simply scrumptious and easy to prepare! mick in port orange fl. 06/28/2005 at 10:39pm User: mickey from port orange, FL User Rating: a big hit with everyone,it's even better with chicken. My fiance (Italian) loved them! yummy 06/18/2006 at 05:12pm User: Panagiota from east northport, NY User Rating: perfect snack for a girls night! Waited To Long 06/16/2006 at 05:06pm User: SHIRLEY from Amherst, OH User Rating: Sae Giada make this recipe several times before and now I don't know why I waited this long to try it myself. They are the best ever, everyone ate every bite. Thanks for this great meal will definately put this one on the top of my list to try again. Well, I tried it! 06/15/2006 at 08:04pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I hate to be negative, as I am a big fan of Giada. This was very easy to make, and the filling ingredients were a wonderful combination. We don't usually eat floured tortillas, and maybe that was why we did not like them. Since I can't eat carbs, if I do splurge it will not be with a tortilla - pasta or rice is a tastier way to splurge. YUMMY TASTY 06/12/2006 at 03:08am User: TONI from Phoenix, AZ User Rating: THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND I MADE THEM OPEN FACE AND ADDED GRILLED CHICKEN BREAT THAT I SHREDDED. I WILL MAKE THESE AGAIN. Quesadillas 06/11/2006 at 01:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: very good Awesome 05/21/2006 at 12:09pm User: Natalie from Orange Park, FL User Rating: These Quesadillas were really easy to make. They were a big hit with everyone. By far the best Quesadillas I've ever had in a restaurant or at home. The flavors are awesome! You must try them, you'll be so glad you did. Giada, you are the best! Thanks. Tasty 05/15/2006 at 08:29pm User: KELLY from coral springs, FL User Rating: These are really good. Sweet from the onions and tangy from the peppers. I cooked them in my quesadilla maker and they came out perfect. Not pretty, but tasty. 05/07/2007 at 06:44pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Two full onions are a bit much for this. 1.5 large would have done just fine. I added chicken and it tasted great. Not the prettiest dinner on the plate but we liked eating it. I can't even believe myself. 04/28/2006 at 11:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was amazing. It could've passed for restaurant food without a second guess. I'm so not domestic it's almost sad, but this gives me hope for myself and my future in the kitchen. I added ground beef because I cooked it for dinner and it made it more filling. Unbelievably awesome dish. I'd give more stars if I could. Sounds like a good idea 03/31/2007 at 10:31pm User: JOANNE from Shirley, NY User Rating: To the evaluator who signs him/herself as 'anonymous' with subject line "good and average", pleeeeese! This is not a forum for lecturing us on what you see as OUR shortcomings. This is to share constructive suggestions to improve upon a RECIPE'S shortcomings if improvement can be made--not to browbeat people into feeling they are not authentic 'cooks' b/c they did not think of this recipe themselves! Seems odd this person wouldn't feel as strongly about this as to sign their name! Why hide behind 'anonymous?' I have multiple packages of flour tortillas in my freezer that were for my son's visit that were not used. I do not normally buy tortillas for myself. Simply by reading this recipe, it nudged me into remembering I had these to use. What is so terrible about that? A "real" cook cannot fall prey to momentary lapses for some unethical reason? I appreciate any gentle prodding I can get if it helps me use things I have on hand and may have forgotten about! It must be a great feeling to be as perfect a "cook" as 'anonymous' is. Amazingly Delicious! 03/25/2008 at 03:13pm User: Carmen from Port Coquitlam, AZ User Rating: I made this recipe for my boyfriend wasn't sure how he would like it being no meat so I added some pan fried Pancetta for a bit of meat and saltyness. It turned out great! It is a lot more filling than you would think! I have been craving this dish since and will be a definate repeat in this house. Also easy to make and you can prepare it early and then pop it in the oven or grill top! love it 03/19/2007 at 09:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i just love it. Amazing! 03/16/2008 at 11:42am User: Anonymous User Rating: One of the best meals we've ever had. Great as leftovers too! (reheat in the toaster oven) SO GOOD AND SO EASY. 03/05/2007 at 09:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I cut the recipe in half and made them for lunch for my husband and I. Can't wait to serve them to friends. I like one reviewer's idea of adding spinach. Wow! 02/14/2007 at 05:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: If only I could make an excuse to eat these everyday! My fiance isn't crazy about the bell peppers, so I leave them out for him, and he still loves them. I use flavored tortillas for an extra punch of flavor. Amazing! 02/11/2006 at 05:49pm User: Mark from Irvine, CA User Rating: I had these at a SuperBowl Party and I was a little hesitant, however, they LOVED THEM! I actually had to go out and buy more ingredients to make them all over again! They were easy, delicious, delightfully filling and the perfect compliment to any appetizer plate! quesadillas 02/07/2007 at 05:34pm User: caryl from nampa, ID User Rating: hubby's birthday and daughter made these yummy, yummy for the tummy. i have now copied the receipe so i can make them also. great Easy and tastes great! 02/07/2006 at 06:45pm User: Sandy from North Brunswick, NJ User Rating: I added spinach for some added veggies! so good! Rave Review!!! 02/04/2006 at 08:25pm User: Conni from Lake George, NY User Rating: I made these for supper one night and my husband thought they were excellent!!! I made home made salsa to complement them but it wasn't needed. They stood alone without help. AMAZING! 02/03/2008 at 07:46pm User: Sara from Watkins Glen, NY User Rating: These quesadillas were seriously SO delicious! They were very easy to make, and very easy to make kid-friendly (no red peppers for my 3-year-old). After one bite I knew this would be a regular meal at our house. I would DEFINITELY recommend them, there were no complaints and only good things to say about them. The recipe makes a lot of them, so we have plenty of leftovers. Next time I'm cutting the recipe down so there aren't quite so many! simply wonderful 02/03/2008 at 02:00pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This was such an easy dish to make and fun to serve. I prepared it for BUNCO night where 17 of us devoured the entire batch in a matter of about 15 minutes. I used 2 packaged of large flour tortillas which proves how much I had made. Simple and so delicious! Great for Entertaining 01/31/2006 at 05:20pm User: donna from milford, MA User Rating: I made these for a ladie's night and what a hit! I prepared them earlier in the day then heated them in the oven at 220 until warm and served with sour cream. I didn't even get to try them because they disappeared so quickly! Not my favorite 01/30/2008 at 05:06pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I am a fan of quesedillas, and Italian food, but putting them together was not sucessful for me. While the fontina cheese is always good, the consistency and taste of everything together was not my favorite. Will probably not make again. Wonderful Italian Twist on Mexico! 01/29/2008 at 08:36am User: Tom from Severna Park, MD User Rating: Made this exactly as the lady directed (I never deviate from her recipes) and my party quests snapped them up and wanted the recipe. This is very easy and always comes out great. Awesome Quesadillas 01/28/2006 at 08:48pm User: Amy from Saint Charles, MO User Rating: I had to find some simple, but yummy appetizers to feed my quests. I picked the quesadillas because they looked so good in the picture. Well, the were a big hit. Not a one left. Next time, I will have to make two or three helpings of them. Hopefully, there will be leftovers for me to eat then. Superbowl Party hit for sure! 01/27/2007 at 11:35am User: julie from Memphis, TN User Rating: These are so easy to make and before I knew it....they were gone! Everyone LOVED them and the roasted red bell pepper adds a layer of flavor that makes this a quesadilla to remember! And....it appears like a complicted dish but it's so easy! Julie in Memphis Excellent-ay!!! 01/26/2007 at 01:52pm User: Emily from Chicagoland, IL User Rating: I served this for a football party. Everyone raved about them. The only thing I changed was from fresh parsley to dried (didn't have time to go to store!) The fontina and parmesean cheeses compliment each other so well. I will be making these again. Loved them 01/25/2006 at 07:40pm User: TALIA from toms river, NJ User Rating: I love all types of quesadillas I served these an appetizer at a football party and they wre a hit. Everyone loved them each time I made them. The flavors are tremendous. I also used basil instead of parsley only because I don't particularly love parsley. Since I'm a beginner cook, everyone naturally asked, "Who made these?" I was proud to take credit for them. Yummy Quesadillas 01/15/2007 at 12:07pm User: chris from camas, WA User Rating: Delicious appetizer. Simple, quick and tasty 01/07/2006 at 06:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I broke my rule of: Never try a new receipe on the same day you are having a crowd...too stressful. This appetizer was so simple to make, took very little time and was such a hit with everyone. The next day the family wanted it again. This time a chopped up tiny bits of chicken breast and added it to it. Serve with a salad and you have a full meal.
