Elegant and Simple 09/02/2006 at 06:06pm User: LaRhonda from Oakland, CA User Rating: I served this dish at my Casino Birthday Party as an appetizer. I had so many comments on these tomatoes. One of the guest praised me on these because he thought it was stuffed tomatoes. The cheese made it so delicious that it threw off the guest. They thought I prepped all week for these. Excellent appetizer or meal starter! Thanks Paula for helping me cheat and not sweat! Fast and delicious! 08/29/2007 at 06:09pm User: Anonymous User Rating: So fast, so good! Crowd Pleaser 07/09/2006 at 01:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I've served this three times now, and it's been a huge hit each time. Make sure you drain the tomatoes well or it ends up being a mushy mess. I added some mushrooms and a little chopped onion. Yummy. So easy and delicious 06/21/2006 at 01:47am User: Lisa from Enid, OK User Rating: My husband and I truely enjoyed this one. Can't wait to make it for my family. A Favorite 06/10/2008 at 12:02pm User: Regina from Apopka, FL User Rating: This dish has become a regular side dish for our family. It is simple, yet has wonderful flavor. It's a winner! I grind fresh black pepper on top of the Parmesan cheese, which adds to the appearance. Yum! 05/02/2008 at 12:24pm User: Jodi from Oklahoma City, OK User Rating: My husband and I have been married for a year and a half, and we have a "star" system for meals. 1 star=terrible, 2 stars=so-so, 3 stars=good, 4 stars=very good, 5 stars=amazing. This is the first 5 star rating my husband has given anything since we've been married. He said he wanted to be very selected with his 5 stars. Thanks Paula! cute 05/01/2007 at 09:14am User: Anonymous User Rating: very simple to prepare, a quick tasty side to many entrees So simple 04/14/2007 at 07:30pm User: Melissa from Swedesboro, NJ User Rating: Couldn't believe how good this was for how easy it was to make! My husband does not like tomatoes but he enjoyed this dish. Will definitely make many more times. Love it 04/08/2007 at 04:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is so easy to make and quick. And it can work for three cans of tomatoes or only one. Could be better 04/05/2008 at 12:09pm User: Michelle from Rincon, GA User Rating: I thought these were just OK, if that. I think fresh tomatoes (in season) cut in thick slices would be much better and I will try that in couple of months when mine turn red. But... 03/21/2006 at 05:26pm User: Tabitha from Corona, CA User Rating: Although it was easy and very tasty, and my kids ate it (they are extreamly picky)... the cheese didn't melt the right way, and my tomatoes kind of fell apart, juice was everywhere..but.. I will try again, because it was delicious!Great idea for a side dish! Outstanding 03/05/2007 at 07:28pm User: Chuck from Long Beach, CA User Rating: had a friend make these for dinner one night. I never thought I would like a tomato side dish, but these were just out of this world. Simple & Terrific Tomatoes 02/21/2007 at 01:54pm User: Karen from Frederick, MD User Rating: Growing up in the South, we had tomatoes as a side dish often. This recipe is great when you can't get fresh tomatoes (that are tasty). This is great as written, but I will try it with some of my favorite herbs and vary the cheese choice as well. Thanks Paula for another wonderful Southern Style treat! Broiled Parmesan Tomatoes - Paula Deen 02/21/2007 at 08:12am User: Anonymous User Rating: Just wonderful! good, basic recipe that's easy to use in different ways 02/21/2006 at 01:43pm User: SUE from round rock, TX User Rating: Made these last nite following directions exactly. We both loved it. But, I should have listened to the reviews and separated the tomatoes, as I had the same problem with the cheese sticking together. I also agree that there is a wee bit too much butter, which is unusual for me 'cause I'm a butter freak...just love the stuff!! Adding herbs would be a nice addition, I think I'll try herbes de Provence next time and pair it with pork. Definitely a fun, easy recipe to experiment with. I might even use different cheeses for a change of pace. Hit at "Potlucks" 02/16/2007 at 12:13pm User: Larry from rifle, CO User Rating: Been taking these to various potluck dinners/lunch and have been asked multiple times for the recipe. I add Italian seasoned bread crumbs and use San Marzano tomatoes, but that's it. Nice easy recipe Peggy 02/14/2007 at 07:30pm User: Anonymous User Rating: easy and grandkids loved it! GREAT 02/14/2007 at 11:59am User: BOOTSIE from SARASOTA, FL User Rating: WHY WOULD YOU PRAISE A RECIPE AND NOT GIVE IT 5 STARS ? THIS IS DEFINITELY A 5 STAR !! Spectacular 02/08/2007 at 08:21pm User: Laura from Grapevine, TX User Rating: My husband is a huge fan of anything with cheese. What a great take on tomatoes! I can't wait to make this for company! Impressive Side Dish 01/30/2006 at 10:28pm User: Danny from Pearland, TX User Rating: Easy to prepare and virtually indistructable! Delicious Surprise 01/27/2008 at 04:05pm User: Lisa from Peachtree City, GA User Rating: I could not believe how delicious and simple this dish was. I loved broiled fresh tomatoes in the summer time but since you use canned tomatoes, you can have the same taste all year round. Use a lot of cheese for the best results. very delicious but be sure to separate tomatoes 01/23/2006 at 07:26pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is a great easy recipe. Don't make the mistake I did and put extra cheese on all the tomatoes that were close together in the casserole dish. The cheese slid off (at serving time) like cheese on a slice of pizza and left all of my tomatoes bare with 1 or 2 big globs of cheese all stuck together. They were still delicious...the presentation was just lacking. i :) this 01/18/2008 at 10:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: yum this issooo gooooooooooooooddddddd Not My Favorite 01/02/2007 at 10:03pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I would definitely use fresh tomatoes next time, if I ever made it again. |
