AMAZING 11/18/2005 at 04:26pm User: Renee from Kensington, MD User Rating: This dish was such a hit, my family actually took a picture of the plate before they ate! A must for your next dinner party 10/21/2006 at 04:51pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This dish is absolutely fantastic. Didn't have skirt steak so I used round roast, sliced it and then pounded with my meat mallet. Shredded the cheese and mix it with dried sage leaves (didn't find any fresh sage). Used the sage sparingly based on the comments. I deglazed my pan with red wine and finished the meat in the wine mixture. After slicing, I drizzled a little green peppercorn sauce - OMG so good! saltimbocca 10/15/2006 at 06:26pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Excellent combination with sage. I just pan fried on shallow pan to medium rare. It is a keeper! :) Michael 10/04/2006 at 03:03pm User: Sasha from Anniston, AL User Rating: Fantastique;I paired this with gravy and polenta. Thank you Odessa, Florida 09/17/2006 at 11:34am User: Anonymous User Rating: My butcher doesn't pound the flank steak for me and my arm practically fell off trying to pound then myself. I never got them thin enough to see my hand through, as Michael did, so the finished product was somewhat chewy. Once done, the flavor was nice; but I won't do again unless I can get a thinner piece of Fland from the butcher! Yummy! 09/14/2005 at 03:59pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really liked this recipe. Easy to make and great flavor. I like sage but found that by using the whole leaves, some bites packed a lot of punch. I think next time I'll chop the sage and sprinkle lightly. This is a keeper. Ick! 08/30/2006 at 09:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I really did not like this. It was easy but definitely did not suit my tastebuds. My husband ate only a few bites and later said it made him want to gag. Sorry MC Delicious 08/20/2007 at 12:43pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This steak was succulent and tasty! The provolone and prociutto definitely added lots of flavour. The meat took a lot longer to cook and I ended up cutting into the pinwheels and then broiling until it was cooked the way I like...This is a recipe to be used again for sure! EXCELLENT! 08/18/2005 at 06:57pm User: DEBBIE from LOMA LINDA, CA User Rating: MY HUSBAND MADE THIS FOR DINENR AND IT WAS WONDERFUL Great Argentine Fare 08/16/2005 at 02:01pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Reminds me of my second homeland, Buenos Aires. Great Dish! 08/11/2006 at 05:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very easy to make and tasty dish! a regular 08/04/2006 at 12:19pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I make this recipe regularly and serve it both hot and cold. And you don't need a lot to serve many people since it is a little heavy. Pile on the veggies and you are good. Delicioso 07/21/2005 at 08:47pm User: Najy from arlington, VI User Rating: As a young guy finding my way in the kitchen, I love finding excellent dishes that are just delicious. This saltimbocca was not only college student budget-friendly, but the flavors were great. Don't skimp on the aged provolone, or the prosciutto. The more the merrier. And at 5.99 a lb, the skirt steak, made tender by the beatings, was a steal. Recommended!! Rock on Chiarello!!! Easy to make and delicious!! 07/15/2006 at 01:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very easy to make and delicious!! We did ours on the grill. Wonderful for summer when you don't want to heat up the kitchen!! chell from NH 07/02/2006 at 10:08am User: MICHELLE from NASHUA, NH User Rating: The sage was overwhelming and the proscuitto was a bit much. Would not make again. Wonderful! 06/25/2006 at 10:59pm User: Stephanie from Stockton, CA User Rating: Made this exactly as Michael directed and it was outstanding. Paired it with his Zucchini and tomato recipe for an impressive presentation. It was a wonderful treat! kids friendly 05/11/2007 at 09:51am User: Anonymous User Rating: my children loved the fact that could help make the saltimbocca and i love the taste. skirt steak ? 05/08/2007 at 06:07pm User: ANN from Knoxville, TN User Rating: I was really hoping this was THE skirt steak recipe that would be great. I pounded and flattened and pounded again... to about 1/4". The flavors was very nice, but the steak was still tough. Won't try again. Really Tasty 05/03/2008 at 10:15am User: Anonymous User Rating: Made this recipe last night using some thin cut eye of round steaks. It turned out really well...the flavor was amazing, but make sure you secure them well enough with the toothpicks, one of mine fell apart (but was eaten anyway, so good!) GREAT 04/22/2008 at 11:36am User: CYPRESS from CYPRESS, TX User Rating: I PRINTED THIS RECIPE A FEW YEARS AGO AND HAVE MADE IT MANY TIMES FOR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THIS IS MY FIRST REVIEW! IT IS VERY EASY BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO COOK IT LONGER THAN THE RECIPE INDICATES. MY MOM SAYS IT TASTES "FANCY"...LOL Wow! What flavor 04/18/2006 at 09:34am User: JASON from Chambersburg, PA User Rating: This was great. I made this for a catering and got rave reviews. The flavors melted together and I made a pan sauce using Pinot Noir and butter. Fantastic! it was a hit 02/21/2007 at 11:46am User: Anonymous User Rating: super easy and family loved it Summer party pleaser 02/02/2007 at 01:45pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this for a party, and it was well received. Takes a little effort ahead of time, but the flavors were great together. cheesey steak 01/25/2006 at 03:13pm User: emely from providence, RI User Rating: the proscioutto gave it a weird taste Yum yum yum 01/22/2006 at 02:13pm User: Barbara from New York City, NY User Rating: Absolutely devine Tasty 01/15/2006 at 11:38am User: LAURIE from salt lake city, UT User Rating: You really need skirt steak to pull this off. Flank, depsite pounding it thin, is too tough for this dish. But, the concept is great and easy to make. Very nice! 01/14/2006 at 10:08pm User: Anonymous User Rating: What a great dish and easy to make. I grilled this and it was fantastic. Every thing I expected. Saltimbocca 01/11/2006 at 10:02am User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe was AWESOME! My family couldn't get enough of it!!! excellent 01/10/2006 at 07:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made a sauce to go with it so it wouldn't be dry. Just beef broth and corn starch. It was great. Tasty 01/06/2006 at 01:48pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This recipe is very tasty. I am not very experienced in the culinary field, but this dish was awsome and not too difficult to make. Everyone enjoyed it! YUCK!!! 01/03/2006 at 05:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: How anyone can consider this recipe as "thinfully delicious" is beyond me. When I think of a healthy dish, I think of light and refreshing, unlike this heavy, greasy and cheesey hunk of red meat. I felt fatter after eating only two bites! I liked nothing about this dish--it was bland and oily and a huge waste of money. I am so gald I tested this one out before making it for friends. If I am going to eat a "healthy" steak dinner, I'll stick to a filet. A winner for taste and simplicity 01/02/2006 at 07:51pm User: Howard from Los Angeles, CA User Rating: Easy Entertaining at its best |
