Great Looking Dessert!

I made this dessert for a summer party and what a hit! The only thing I changed was that I used a dark chocolate ice cream in the middle rather than the strawberry (fruit and chocolate, YUM!). I also used all store bought sorbets. I garnished my platter with fresh mango slices and raspberries and it turned out looking great!

great

flavor is good but consistency is not

Flavor was very nice but the consistency of this was grainy after I let freeze til solid. If I make this again, I think I'd strain it for a smoother texture. Also beware this freezes like a rock after 8 hours or so. And then to use it, you would need to thaw it for at least 30 minutes. Not sure it's worth all the extra effort.

Perfect Dessert

What a perfect dessert! Refreshing, beautiful, summery, couldn't have been better with lemon drop cookies. Easy, too. Ina says serves 6, more like 12!

I made this for a party and everyone loved it and thought it was a cute dessert. I used different flavors and I also chilled my bowls in the freezer before I started making the dessert.

This dessert is very easy to make. I really enjoyed using the icecream maker for the first time. The presentation was spectacular! I garnished the dessert plate with rasberry sauce and inserted a thin Italian Anisette cookie in it.

Saw this on her show and my local market was runing a sale on mangoes, so I decided to try the sorbet. WOW, absolutely delicious and most of all, easy to make. I did not make the bombe, that is next on my list! Sure to be a hit it judging by the sorbet.

It is not difficult to make, even though the recipe looks long. We didn't have to make the mango sorbet since it's sold in grocery stores. We actually bought mango and peach sorbet (1 pint each) and combined them for the outer layer. This was a hit with our guests! We didn't have to thaw in a sink full of warm water, it just started to melt after 5 minutes out of the freezer so I recommend serving it immediately. Even if it melts on you, it's still so good. The nesting bowls are a must-have for this recipe. I don't see how we could have made this without them.

Versatile...

Easy recipe & very pretty to serve. Instead of strawberry, I used white chocolate with raspberry & served a blackberry-raspberry sauce on the side. Have, also, layered in tall sherberts ~ its' simplicity makes it a popular dessert at my house!

I took one look at this in Ina's Paris Cookbook and knew it would be perfect for my daughter's circus-themed birthday party. It reminds me a little of a circus tent. I used store-bought sorbets and ice cream. It was gorgeous! You should have heard the oohs and ahhs of our guests as I cut into it! I now want to try the same technique with other flavors of ice cream-maybe chocolate, coffee, and vanilla? Yum!
