boring 12/30/2006 at 10:58pm User: Anonymous User Rating: you can find it on almost every package, so who is the pirate with the copyright? silly Delicious 12/30/2006 at 02:08pm User: alexis from Fort Lauderdale, FL User Rating: I substituted golden raisins for the currants, and it was great. I served it with lamb chops and glazed carrots. It was devoured. Very easy, will make it again. Too Bland 11/28/2006 at 09:11am User: Anonymous User Rating: Sorry Ina, but this dish was a little too bland for my taste. It seemed to have needed something more, in the way of spices, to give it more taste. Very easy and yammy 11/08/2006 at 12:42pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Very quick and easy to cook. I used dried currants and it came out delcicous. Good either hot or cold. easy and good 09/05/2006 at 06:55pm User: Jim from tulare, CA User Rating: this is an easy recipe that tastes like it took a long time OUTSTANDING! 09/05/2005 at 08:57pm User: JENIFER from Sunnyvale, CA User Rating: This is my absolute favorite couscous recipe. I follwed it exactly except I used an Iranian berry called zereshk instead of the currants. They are small, unsweetened and very tangy. It turned out wonderfully. Next time I might try almonds instead of pine nuts. I already can't wait to have this again! Wonderful 09/05/2005 at 01:17am User: Anonymous User Rating: I love couscous and this is one of my favorite ways to enjoy it. The currants and pine nuts are a great combination. So good! 08/24/2005 at 11:04am User: Linda from Holmdel, NJ User Rating: Nice change from potatoes and rice. Great flavor, especially with the sauce from the chicken. If you don't have currants, try golden raisins, or diced carrots and zucchini. Amazing 08/20/2006 at 01:02am User: John from San Diego, CA User Rating: The garlic completely changes in this recipe from what you think of garlic tasting. lite/yummy 08/02/2007 at 10:48pm User: Joanna from Draper, UT User Rating: Just perfect! Tasty, delicate but not blah. It's a perfect side dish, Thanks Ina! Yummy Yummy! 08/02/2007 at 03:55pm User: Maryjo from Houston, TX User Rating: Fabulous recipe. Easy to prepare. Great aroma. All around well balanced flavors from pine nuts and currents (and I'm not a huge fan of currents OR pine nuts). Will put this in my "make this once a week" catagory. Pretty good however needs more flavor 07/30/2007 at 01:54pm User: aneeva from knife river, MN User Rating: I made this to accompany the chicken with 40 cloves of garlic, while it paired good for the most part, I thought it lacked something, so next time I will add homemade stock instead of canned. Easy and Good 07/29/2005 at 08:59am User: Linda s from Mesquite, TX User Rating: This was a great side to serve with the chicken with 40 cloves of garlic. We are having chops and I'm serving this with it A winner 07/28/2007 at 11:34pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I served this for a "Casablanca" movie night. All Morracan. The couscous, with a carrot salad from this site, and lamb kabobs. Everyone loved it. Best Ever Chicken Dish 07/19/2007 at 05:25pm User: Rose Ann from Boynton Beach, FL User Rating: Always looking for a dish that is easy and uncomplicated. Ina is really an artful cook for celebrating friends in your home. Liked this one a lot! 07/13/2007 at 12:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great side dish-especially with chicken. Great Couscous! 05/31/2007 at 01:14pm User: Kari from Tulsa, OK User Rating: I loved the currants. Served this with Coconut Curry Chicken and Marinated Roasted Tomatoes. I also don't like shallots so I substituted garlic. For the people who want more flavor, be sure you buy chicken stock and not broth if you don't make your own. Good side to Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic 05/22/2007 at 06:03pm User: Karen from NY, NY User Rating: This dish on it's own may not be anything to write home about (a little on the bland side), but served with the delicious Chicken with 40 Cloves of Garlic it's amazing! The perfect complement to the stronger flavors of the chicken. Like another reviewer suggested, I also added a handful of golden raisins to the finished product. Yum! Fabulous! 05/13/2008 at 06:31pm User: Amy from Oak Harbor, WA User Rating: My family all loved this recipe! perfect with chicken that has a sauce to pour over it. I used craisins instead of currents. Really easy, healthy and good 05/07/2007 at 05:03pm User: Kelley from San Jose, CA User Rating: I decided to make this recipe to go with the chicken and forty garlic cloves recipe. We had had couscous in the past and really weren't impressed but this looked so good on the show, I thought I'd try it. It was DELICIOUS! I enjoyed the lightness of the dish and the best part was it was easy. We will definitely make this again. Barefoot Contessa you have changed me into a Couscous fan :) Moroccan Couscous 05/04/2006 at 01:17pm User: Melissa from Greenfield, MA User Rating: This recipe was very easy and yummy! I used low sodium chicken broth (pre-made) - however when I make it again I will not use it. The lack of satl made it a bit blah but it was still good! Couscous 05/02/2008 at 08:26pm User: Jill from Harrisonburg, VA User Rating: Even without the nuts and currants, this recipe is delicious. One recommendation..it seemed that the couscous was a little sticky/too much liquid. I might suggest cutting back maybe 1/4 cup or so because it didnt really "fluff" up, more like stuck together. But the taste compensated! So Easy & So Delicious! 04/27/2006 at 08:56am User: Susanne from North Monmouth, ME User Rating: This recipe was so quick and easy. I substituted dried sweetened cranberries for the currants, and it came out great! AWESOME!!! 04/21/2006 at 10:28pm User: Lynn from Buckley, WA User Rating: I followed the directions and this turned out fabulous!! I couldn't get enough!! Easy to make. Even my kids loved it! Thanks you Great recipe! 04/18/2006 at 12:31am User: PATT from Albuquerque, NM User Rating: Excellent as directed. I sometimes use, halved, dried cranberries with golden raisins (a few, chopped, mint leaves make it look like a Christmas dish!) and I believe there's no substitute for the toasted pine nuts. Thanks, Ina... Moroccan Couscous 04/17/2007 at 10:05pm User: Kathryn from Nashville, TN User Rating: I loved this recipe!! I didn't use the butter in an effort to reduce the fat and calories and it was still delicious. I sauted the shallots in cooking spray instead. EASY AND YUMMY! 04/14/2007 at 10:49pm User: Anonymous User Rating: soo good! Great and Easy 04/12/2006 at 07:59am User: MARY from Boston, MA User Rating: Yes as others said "nice change from potatoes" and so quick and easy and tasty, what's not to love. TASTY perfect balance 04/06/2007 at 12:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The suttle flavours of this recipe makes it perfect for any bolder tasting entree accompanying it. ( Be it the 40 clove chicken, salmon, lamb, curried meats or fish ) It is so simple yet the nuts and currents add just enough flavor as well as simple elegance. Fantastic! 04/05/2007 at 11:55pm User: Sarah from Warren, MI User Rating: This made for a wonderful side dish. I served it along with my own Moroccan salmon and peas and carrots. To make it a bit lighter, I cut the butter in half (2 T vs. 4) and it was fine. I also used reduced-sodium chicken broth. It was so yummy, my fiance and I had it for lunch the next day. So simple and delicious--definitely a keeper! FABULOUS!!! 03/24/2007 at 04:35pm User: Patti from Temecula, CA User Rating: I think this recipe dressed up couscous in a whole new way! My family devoured it and it has become a once a week "must have" in my house. Thanks, Ina! Will be having this regulary! Awesome 03/05/2006 at 05:13pm User: DEBORAH from Baldwinsville, NY User Rating: This is wonderful, I had never had it before and ate quite a lot with the wonderful chicken recipe. I'll never make couscous following basic box instructions again. best couscous I have had 01/07/2008 at 01:43am User: monique from los angeles, CA User Rating: I made this recipe with a little bit of hesitation because of some bland reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised, my guests said this was the best couscous they had ever tasted and I would have to agree. The flavors were simple, yet distinct. I will definitely put this one in my files, and I am very picky. |
