I thought the flavor was good. The choice of the potatoes was excellent; it added wonderful flavor and color. I loved the buttermilk flavor. This was my first time making home-made mashed potatoes and I found the directions simple and easy to follow

I found this recipe to be easy - and just mashed the potatoes myself without using a ricer. I also chopped a clove of garlic up and added it with the toher ingrediants. Good if you have extra buttermilk on hand.

I didn't have any Yukon Gold at the time so I just used Russet potatoes and this recipe was fantastic. I tried this recipe again with the Yukon and it was just okay. I prefer my mashed potatoes with Russet anyway.

Absolutely the best

The best mashed potatoes. You can get by with using less butter and they are still delicious. But, unless one makes mashed potatoes frequently, why not splurge and use all the butter? Really great and as far as I'm concerned, the meal could stop here and I'd be happy.

Nothing special, but it would have been better with garlic added. She has many other recipes that are better.

I've always warmed the milk & butter before adding to the potatoes but never used buttermilk or unsalted butter. Nice flavor and good change from the ordinary!!

Mashed Potatoe Heaven

As a lover of mashed potatoes I can say this recipe got me back to real potatoes and the masher. I have and may still used the Idahoan instant mashed, which by the way are delicious, but this recipe with the Sprouts and the Individual Meat Loaves rated my wife's classification as good enough to serve company.

Smooth and Yummy!

We tried these with fried turkey since you really don't need gravy with either one...these were the perfect compliment. We'll be making these everytime going forward!

The potatoes are definitely yummi!! I never knew the milk and type of potatoes would make such a big difference!!! The potatoes are a little more expensive but very much worth the taste! :)

Sour Taste

Butter milk is great for fried chicken, etc. Do not make this unless you like sour tasting mashed potatoes, heavy cream is the only way to go, will not make them with buttermilk ever again.

Yum yum!

I have made this version of mashed potatoes before, and it has a nice tang to it, similar to the flavor of sour cream. Ina does everything so elegantly and makes it look easy. She's quite wonderful.

If you have your own receipe for mashed potatoes, stick to it! This recipe came out too watery and with clumps of the buttermilk. I learned my lesson!
