I was kind of skeptical below (being of asian decent), but it is delicious! Well done!

With just a small tweak, this can work.

Add 3 tbsp. of either YELLOW, RED or (for super hot) GREEN THAI CURRY PASTE. Available at ethnic and specialty markets. The stuff lasts basically forever in the fridge and can be used anytime to make great, authentic curry sauces.

Coconut shrimp is a dish that's always served at this Japanese/Chinese buffet place in my neighborhood. It's really good there, but this is even better!!!

Unusual after taste. Not a crowd pleaser by any means.

There's nothing to like about this recipe.

The sauce totally lacks flavor and the shrimp are rubbery and overcooked. This is a very poor excuse for Thai food. A frozen Thai-style dish from trader Joes is a much better option.

Yum!

Tasteless. Lacks flavor. I love coconut and shrimp so I tried this recipe. Found that it lacked flavor. Thought should either be salty or sweet and was neither. Flat taste. Would not recommend.

Not spicy

The sauce isn't spicy at all, so if you like very mild dishes, you might like this. We thought it was way too bland for our taste. The sauce is also very, very thin -- not like a restaurant-style sauce.

I loved this recipe! I did make just a couple of changes though. To make it thicker and add a little flavor, I replaced the chicken broth with spicy mango coconut sauce. Also, I replaced the cilantro with chopped green onion. It was so good.

Very good with a few tweaks

After reading the previous reviews I thought this recipe might need some tweaks. While cooking I tested the flavor, it was very sweet due to the coconut milk, so I added extra crushed red pepper and soy sauce. I also added ground cayenne red pepper. Using the recipe only for the sauce, I drizzled it over rice, Asian vegetables, and coconut encrusted shrimp. My husband loved it!!!

Not so spicy, but really, really good!

This recipe has so much flavor, so I'm confused by the other reviews. Maybe it was prepared wrong. My boyfriend, who HATES coconut, loved this dish. He likes it spicy, though, so he added some chili sauce. Ignore the bad reviews, this dish is very easy and super tasty!

Very heavy sauce and not as spicy as you might think. We served it with the crispy orange beef from the same show and they went together terribly.

Yum!

User: TAMMY from Phoenix, AZ    User Rating:
My family loved this recipe. I changed it a bit by using small Asian red peppers instead of the crushed red pepper and sprinkling the finished dish with toasted coconut as well as the cilantro. I also used raw shrimp that I marinated in olive oil and garlic and then cooked and added to the sauce. The sauce was so delicious I ended up using the leftover in an Asian soup I made for a dinner party.

User: Lora from Waynesville, MO    User Rating:
I don't usually pick her recipes, but it was the only one that didn't fry the shrimp. Made her way, the sauce was kinda bland because coconut milk is kinda bland. I added 1/4 cup of cream of coconut and that made it sweeter and taste like coconut. It was also very soupy so I added 2 TBSP of cream of tartar mixed with 1/2 cup of water and that fixed it right up. Next time around, I won't add the soy sauce. We really couldn't taste it and I didn't like the color it made the sauce.

The sauce is really unappetizing and the flavor really needs a boost -- like with twice as much curry paste. Don't waste good money on shrimp with this recipe.
