Apple Butter is very sweet

A very good compliment to a brunch without being overly sweet. Apple butter is very sweet like jam and it is added to cream cheese which is very rich. That is probably why the bread is made with less sweetener in it. Also note that when baking quick breads, be careful not to overcook them or they will turn out dry. Also make sure you oven is accurate temperatue (using an oven thermonenter). I usually take them out when: they are at least lightly browned on top, top bounces back, the bread is starting to pull away from the sides of the pan and a toothpick has a couple of crumbs still clinging to it. Cool on a rack, then take out of the pan after 5-10 min only and cool on rack or it will continue to cook in the pan and dry out.

The sauce by itself was so-so, but eating it with the Applesauce Bread, it was definitely a good combination.

The kids love this and eat it on everything from toast and muffins to apples and banannas for an after school treat!! I've made this with both full-fat and light cream cheese and both are excellent. (Shhh, the kids can't tell the difference!) Thanks, Paula!

I was searching for the perfect sausage ball recipe & I believe I've found it! My mother-in-law makes these every year around the holidays & though she gave me her recipe... they just didn't taste the same! These are wonderful & I will definitely be making these in the future.
