I will never again use leftover chicken for anything. The quick cook method is easy and the results fantastic. The chicken Ala King is amazing and not difficult. Someday. perhaps I'll get to doing the biscuits...

I made the herb biscuits to compliment my mother's chicken, rice, and gravy and they were fantastic. I did a little tweaking, added minced garlic into the dough and sprinkled a little cheese on top of the biscuits and let it melt to a crisp right before taking them out of the oven, the wonderfully filling and flavorful!

Best chicken a la king ever

This recipe is complex, but easy. The ingredients add richness to the overall recipe. The herb biscuits are a must. I would not bother using "left over" chicken, but rather cook the chicken in the foil, cut into large chunks, and add at the last minute. A key is to not overcook the chicken.

Too rich as is but easy to lighten

- 2 T of butter is plenty - 1 yolk, or even half a yolk, will do - 1 1/2 C 1% milk and half a cup of half and half works well The biscuit recipe is to die for. Made drop biscuits instead of cut-outs and they were light, fluffy, perfect!

this dish is fan-freakin-tastic, not only is this delicious, it takes no time to prep and cook and the results are an outcry of satisfied people. I always love trying Mr. Lagasse's dishes because he never ceases to amaze me with incredible but easy dishes like this one.

I seen the Open House regarding the above recipe. I said that really looks good on a cold day and comforting and I remembered the recipe and also checked it out (as you can see) to be sure that I had all the ingredients. I just finished making the a la King and waiting to cut the chicken and add the lemon. I have to say this is really good! I don't have it over biscuits (my husband) don't care for them so I have them over egg noodles instead; and leftovers will be made into a chicken pot-pie a la King! THIS IS A BIG BAM -BAM, love it and love your shows I am your NUMBER 1 FAN....and can't wait to look for more of your great recipes.... Sincerely, Sassc

Great tasting!

I wanted to see if this recipe would translate well into a vegetarian meal and with a couple minor tweaks and substituting tarragon with the fresh sage I had on hand it was SOOOOO GOOD!!! I oven roasted the veggies with some evoo, used vegetable stock, and used baby portabellos and put it over my favorite homemade rolls from childhood instead of the herb biscuits. The best part about this was how rich and savory this dish was for the mimimal cost of the ingredients. My husband loved it- and I've found a new dish to entertain with!

So good

I used a rotisserie chicken and served it over white rice. DELICIOUS!!! I was skeptical about the egg yolks and 1/2 cup of hot sauce, but it came together great. Would definitely make again.

Incredible!

I liked this dish quite a bit. However, the tarragon was a bit too much of an overpowering flavor for me.

NO TARRAGON

I thought it was ok. I think a bit too much wine for my taste. I don't like tarragon, so I didn't put any. I may dry again after I search for more, and I find my fav. Thanks Emeril.

Absolutely fantastic!! I used leftover grilled chicken and served it over mashed potatoes. It's extremely rich, but my boys desperately need the calories. They Loved this dish.

My husband and I made this recipe together and it was so much fun! I do not think this recipe was "easy", I think it was more of a "Intermediate" because of all the ingredients and steps. But we had no problem doing it and the food was terrific. We did not make the bisquits and we did not put in the sherry wine (added extra chick broth). We will definately make this recipe again. It makes great leftovers too!

BAM was this good !

We made this for dinner last night and it was GREAT, this will definitely be made again and again. I did have to cheat and use store bought biscuits (I wish you could provide ingredient adjustments for high altitude cooking).

I saw this today, April 17th while recooperating at my daughters after having my back get a pain relieving procedure. Emeril made me feel I wanted to made me want to make it right away. The simplicity of it all made me feel I could do it and well. We stopped at the grocery store on our way home but I found I forgot some of the ingredients. Thank goodness for my computer. I was able to download the recipe and now I can go get the things I forgot. I have never used hearts of palm. Emeril says his kids love it so I want to use it too. Thanks Emeril. I love ya. phyl

This is a quick in easy way to deal with leftover roast chicken OR turkey. I wouldn't bother actually cooking chicken to make this dish. I have also found it is just as good if you leave out the heavy cream.

Fantastic!

I don't care for Chicken a la King but my boyfriend does. I made this for him (but skipped out on the herb biscuits) and he absolutely loved it. He's asked me to make it time and time again. Not too difficult to make and very creamy in its consitency.

Good, but very time consuming

Good dish...doesn't make a ton of sauce for the payoff so if you are going to make this dish for a family portion you might as well double everything for the sauce...except for the dill...a little overpowering so watch how much you add. If in a crunch and you don't feel like baking the biscuits...just get the already made ones at the grocery store or add a different texture by pouring sauce over puffed pastries.

Excellant flavor, and easy as pie! My only comment is that it needed color. I didn't put in green peppers but will either add red peppers or peas next time or maybe chopped chives on top. Just something to make it "pretty".
