Sounds good 12/29/2006 at 11:35pm User: Brian from fpo, AR User Rating: Sounds good A Little Bubbily for ME! 12/29/2006 at 09:45pm User: Dianne from Wexford, PA User Rating: :) Mr. 12/28/2005 at 10:37pm User: Anonymous User Rating: needs a touch more vodka Refreshing 11/06/2005 at 01:55pm User: Marla from Midland, TX User Rating: This drink is incredibly refreshing! It was easy to make and went great with the salad, pork chops and potatoes. I couldn't find lemon sherbert so we used pineapple. My only suggestion is that the recipe be doubled and served in a larger glass! Delicious - Ditto on refreshing 11/02/2007 at 06:19pm User: Amber from Corinth, TX User Rating: After reading the other reviews, I first tried the drink without the mint, and as one reviewer commented, it had a strong alcohol taste, maybe even bitter. But, I read from another review that chopping the mint wasn't such a good idea either. Instead, I crushed it at the bottom of the cup with the handle of a wooden spoon (as you would do for a mojito). That made the difference. It changed the drink completely, and I would recommend to others who make it to crush the mint at the bottom rather than chop it or eliminate it. The mint is the perfect compliment to the other ingredients. Beware -- it's strong! I might use a little less vodka next time. (I "eyeballed" it instead of measuring and that might have done me in.) refreshing drink 11/01/2005 at 07:14pm User: Anonymous User Rating: really easy to prepare and fun to serve. Yummy! 10/28/2006 at 04:05pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these for a Book Club meeting--they were a huge hit! The mint has to be chopped very small, otherwise it's a little hard to take. I've made it since and the quality sorbet you use definitely makes a difference. But these are great! Great for party guests! 08/01/2006 at 01:36am User: MARY ANN from San Marcos, TX User Rating: I fixed this along with other recipes by Giada for my son's girlfriend's birthday party and everyone loved it. It was a great hit. Very delicious! I will definitely serve this again. Great for entertainment! 05/29/2007 at 01:47pm User: Elizabeth from Orlando, FL User Rating: I served this for my husband's birthday and everybody asked me how to make it. They all loved it. Party Pleaser 05/10/2007 at 08:29pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Easy, delicious and flexible. I used champagne instead of Proseco and didn't use mint and it was still super easy and a big hit. Easy and Refreshing 05/07/2006 at 08:16pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made these and they were the hit of the party. Mmmm! 04/07/2008 at 11:41am User: Anonymous User Rating: I made this for my fiance's birthday and we loved it! We've made it twice since. Just like in Italy! 04/05/2007 at 12:32pm User: Laura from Falls Church, VA User Rating: We had this drink in Venice for New Years Eve a few years back. This recipe is right on the italian drink. Love it! soooooo yummy 02/28/2007 at 04:47pm User: barbara from BULLHEAD CITY, AZ User Rating: We live in Bullhead Arizona where 125 degree days are common. This is so refreshing but we drink most of it indoors because the sorbet will melt too quickly outdoors....such problems!! Pucker up! 02/28/2007 at 01:58pm User: Sam from Fremont, CA User Rating: This drink was too bitter and sour for me. I expected it to be sweeter. Maybe if I used a different flavor sorbet? I used Hagen Das Lemon Sorbet. Refreshing 02/27/2007 at 11:16pm User: Dianne from Medford, OR User Rating: This was a very easy, delicious & refreshing recipe. Awesome! 02/27/2007 at 05:11pm User: Heather from Dana Point, CA User Rating: This drink is so great. I increased the vodka to give it a bit more kick. We couldn't find lemon sorbet so we used raspberry and it turned out fine. Little hint: Don't chop up the mint because then you get little bits of mint in your mouth and it doesn't taste good:) A little too dry 02/19/2007 at 12:22pm User: Sarah from Arena, WI User Rating: I was helped in picking out a sweeter prosecco at the liquor store, and mized it with a high-end vodka, the sorbet and the mint. It was drinkable, but, I wouldn't go out of my way to make this again. Was just too dry. Amazing! 02/18/2007 at 03:41pm User: Emily from Agoura Hills, CA User Rating: I am 13 and decided to make my parents a valentine's dinner. This drink was simple but very yummy ( well i didn't taste it) but my parents were raving about it. I definetly recommend this! delicious! 02/15/2007 at 02:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: My boyfriend and I made this for Valentine's Day and we both loved it! It was so deliecious and a great addition to our amazing dinner we got from Food Network. Very very nice. 02/15/2006 at 09:42pm User: Cindy from Putnam, CT User Rating: I made this once with vodka and then again with limoncello. The limoncello was just the difference I was looking for. For the next time I serve these I puechased some lemondrop martini sugar to rim the glasses. I can't wait for warm Sunday brunches on the deck. Excellent! 02/10/2006 at 03:52pm User: Donna from Orlando, FL User Rating: I found this to be quite delightful and a perfect complement to a great meal. It eliminates the need for dessert. I tried it once with lemon sorbet and tonight I'm going to try it with Mango sorbet! Sgroppino/Great Summer Entertaining Drink 01/22/2006 at 04:40pm User: Theresa from Pocahontas, IL User Rating: I mix this in a blender and serve in a martini or margarita glass. This was served at a fine restaurant back home in Croatia. Fresh and pretty! 01/19/2006 at 07:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I served this before a dinner party and it was very impressive. It was a little heavy on the vodka for a dinner where other drinks were served (and people had to drive home). These were good 01/02/2007 at 04:42pm User: Seymour from Beverly Hills, CA User Rating: Definitely a do again! |
