I love to cook but have never worked with shrimp. This was SOOOO easy and the only change I made was no lemon slices and a tiny bit less lemon juice since my husband is not a fan of lemon but even he set the garlic lemon balance was perfect. So tasty! Of course all that butter and oil makes it hard to make it again soon but definitly if we have company with a nice fresh salad and some hot rolls! YUM

I have made this quite a few times now. The first time I did the lemon peel and lemon slices. I am a big time lemon lover and it was still really good just a little overpowering, and the lemon peel made it bitter. Now when I make it I just squeeze the lemon juice on and leave out the peel. We really love this, and so does our whole family!So simple and easy to make! Defintley a keeper!!!

since i am a girl that is only 13 years old in a normal neighborhood....i dont know much about cooking... but i sure do love it this dish is awesome in the way it uses pasta (my fav!) and shrimp.... but there is barely no sauce left form the shrimp and a little too much lemon but it was still awesome

This recipe is easy to make and tastes great! I took the advice of others and modified the recipe. I used the juice of one lemon (not two) and only used a 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt in the shrimp. I didn't have any linguine in the kitchen, but I did have 3/4 pounds of farfalle pasta and it turned out great. I also increased the butter by 1 Tbsp. because I used 1 1/4 pounds of 31-40 count shrimp. I also ditched the half rounds of lemon and doubled the amount of red pepper flakes. This recipe is a keeper and will definitely be made again!

I just finished making and eating this dish, and I must say, it is not only simple, but it is wonderfully refreshing and delicious. I used frozen, raw shrimp that I defrosted and then sprinkled with lemon pepper and cayenne. It was so quick to make, and I could not taste much "fishyness" in this recipe, which I enjoyed. Oh, and I also used "real lemon juice" from the bottle (hey, I am a single girl who works full time and trying to make meals from things that I have on hand..ha!), and it worked out just fine. I'm sure if I used real lemons is would've been even better. I gave this recipe a four rather than a five because although it was very yummy, it wasn't something that wow'ed me. Thank you, Ina! I will be making this again and again.

After reading the reviews and noticing that so many complained about too much salt and too much lemon, I changed things up a bit. I only added 1 tsp of salt, the juice of 1 lemon, no lemon zest and no lemon slices. I also added 1/2 pint of heavy cream. I removed the shrimp after they turned pink so as to not over cook them after I added in the cream. I let it cook for about 3-4 minutes. I then added 2 TBSP of fresh shredded parm cheese and then added the shrimp back in and tossed w/the noodles ... it was AWESOME! I have 3 small children ... 4,6 & 8 and they LOVED it. Another note ... following the recipe w/my changes, only makes enough for 1/2 a pound of noodles. If you want to use a whole pound, double the recipe.

This is one my favorite quick recipes - it tastes wonderful & it is so fast getting to the table. Be sure to use KOSHER salt to avoid the complaints in other reviews & use RAW shrimp - you will be very happy with the results!

I have made this many times. It is very easy. I also add frozen pea to the pasta at near end of cooking so they are done when the pasta is it adds a little color and I love the taste of peas with lemon I also use a whole pound of pasta so the lemon is not over powering

I have tried Rachel's, Giada's and Tyler's shrimp scampi and this recipe blew the others away! It was the best dish I have ever cooked, and my husband agrees! I used less butter and more olive oil (for diet purposes) but otherwise I followed the recipe to the letter and it was 10 stars! I didn't think it was too salty or lemony - just very flavorful. It is restaurant quality for sure, and there was plenty of sauce for dipping a crusty Italian bread.

After reading the other reviews I cut the salt in half, didn't add the lemon slices and used a bit of white wine. It was delicious and easy. I also used whole wheat pasta, and I don't think it affected the taste at all.

Okay people. I love lemon. However this recipe is the worst lemon AND pasta recipe in the world. I only add 2/3 of the lemon juice recommended, omitted all the lemon slices and zest, TRIPLED THE AMOUNT OF ALL THE OTHER INGREDIENTS, yet it was still extremely lemony!!!! This ruined the mother's day meal I made for my family.

I tried this dish the first time on a whim ...thinking i have done shrimp scampi so many times before....but this recipe seem "brighter"...it was such a success that when i took some to work for lunch the next day co-workers were flocking around my plastic lunch container as if it were the last food in the cafeteria...asking "did you bring enough to share" and "what resturaunt did you get this from ...i have since changed it up a little and some times grill chicken breast and/or and alfredo sauce...

I have made this recipe twice. The first time, I followed the directions exactly and thelemon was much too overpowering (and I really like lemon). The second time I omitted the zest and used about 3/4 of the lemon juice and the results were lovely.

The only modification I made to this was I didn't put in the lemon zest, and only because I didn't feel like making it. This was delicious! I served it with rosemary ciabbatta rolls and it was great. My husband wants me to make it again. I don't think it was too lemony like the other readers suggested. You could taste lemon, but I don't think it overpowered it at all.

This recipe was unbelievable. My family loved it. It was the best and tastiest shrimp scampi recipe I have ever had, and being a New Yorker I have had a few. I did only use the juice of one lemon, I feel that any more lemon juice would have ruined the dish. I also did not put the sliced lemons on the top for garnish. If you make this dish and decide to double the amount you must use the juice of two lemons, so on and so forth. Thanks Ina you created another great one.

What a great recipe. Lots of flavor - but light on the tummy. Everyone I have served this too wants to take the leftovers home. This has become one of my husband and grandsons favorite meals. Served with a salad and fresh homemade dinner rolls - the meal is complete.

I liked it, but my husband thought it was kind of simple...I think it would have been better with fresh raw shrimp. I made the mistake of buying already cooked shrimp and I think it affected the quality. Overall tasted good though

I'd stopped making shrimp scampi because it just got boring. Ina's addition of red pepper flakes and lemon has revived this recipe for me. It is absolutely delicious! The fact that it comes together quickly and easily and provides leftovers for lunch makes it one of my favorites.

I should have trusted my insticts on this one. 1/4 c of lemon juice AND zest seemed like way too much to me, but I used it anyway and man oh man, my husband and I are STILL puckering! I am going to try this again, with maybe one or two tbsp. lemon juice, and NO zest, and I think we'll have a winner.

I Made Ina's Shrimp Scampi for a quick lunch with a friend. It was so easy and the prep time was so minimal, the fresh lemon juice and parsley gave the dish such a light delicate flavour, and the garlic and crushed red pepper flakes gave just enough punch. It was a hit, there were no left overs. I added a few jumbo sea scallops for variety and there sweetness, it was awesome! All of Ina's recipes are great and she has such class, she is the sweet, intelligent, creative Aunt we all wish for! Try it you will LOVE IT!

This recipe has become a go to meal for me. It is always good and it is easy to modify to different tastes. I use the juice of 2 lemons and that is it. I don't use zest or slices of lemon. Its delicious!

I like lemon but I thougth this recipe was too much. I even left out the lemon slices. I calmed it down a bit with chichen broth. Next time I will cut down on the lemon juice. I used kosher salt.

Ina is my kind of hostes! This recipe has real flavor and couldn't be easier or quicker to make. Delicious and fresh! I used only half of the lemon juice and a bit of white wine, and added some pasta water to make sure there was enough liquid for the sauce. This is good enough for company, and easy enough for a weeknight meal.

I agree with other reviewers that the lemon pretty much takes over. You certainly don't need to add the lemon slices - no one would eat them anyway. I think a common problem that people mention "too salty" is probably because they are substituting table salt for kosher salt and it's not a one to one substitution. Table salt is far more "salty".

This was easy to make and tastes good. I didn't have any problems with it being too salty or lemony. But after learning that Kosher salt is not as salty as regular salt, I will cut back on the salt next time I make it.

This recipe is terrific and quick. Most of the preparation can be done while you are waiting for the water to boil that is if you purchase already peeled and devained shrimp. I make a small portion of chicken for my picky son and reserve some of the linguini for him and everyone is pleased.

Since I've got a second baby, my cooking time is very limited. I don't cook shrimp often, but it looked so~ good on the show. I decided to make it even though it looked too lemoney. Result was fantastic!!! Very quick and soooo~ delicious! Both my husband and I loved it and this is definately my keeper!!!

This is a tasty and simple recipe. Like many of the other reviews suggested, I cut down on the salt using only about 1 teaspoon and I also cut down the lemon using only about a lemon and a half and left out the rind and the lemon rings and this dish turned out amazing. My husband couldn't stop raving. This will be a keeper in our home for a long time to come.

I used only 1 tsp. salt, juice of 1/2 lemon, no zest, no cayenne and it turned out great. More butter less olive oil ratio lets the garlic and shrimp flavors come through. I used frozen precooked large shrimp and it really made it quick to fix.

My husband and I both really enjoyed this. I went with other reviewers recommendations and cut back on the lemon (no zest and about 1/2 the juice), only salt added was to the boiling pasta water, and since i didn't have any fresh parsley on hand, i used fresh basil instead.

I watched this episode and it looked lovely. I could even smell it! Well it was horrid. Way too much lemon and garlic. I can still taste it 48 hours later. I will be honest and say I love almost every recipe I have tried but this was by far the worst ever from food network! Sorry Ina if you catered this to my party I would demand a refund! Everyone hated this dinner but always loved everything else I have made from you. your best ever was the coleslaw with blue cheese salad and the tenderloin sandwiches. I want to say I did this with shrimp and another with chicken for a party of 10 we ordered out pizza OUCH! MIA CULPA- how did I manage to mess your recipe up this way?

This is a great recipe!!! Salt, Lemon and other items are a matter of your personal taste. Leave out or substitute items you don't like. It's impossible to please everyone. Go with your taste, diet, and preferences and a happy medium for your family. I add no salt, or a minimal amount due to blood pressure issues. You do NOT have to follow a recipe exactly to get tasty results!!! Love the show!!!
