Reminds me of Paris..... 11/22/2007 at 01:23am User: MIMI from Chicago, IL User Rating: This recipe is so easy! I would've never guessed that such a simple recipe would be so reminiscent to the celeri remoulade I had in Paris! Thanks Ina! A DIFFERENT DELICIOUS SALAD 11/16/2005 at 07:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I had forgotten about Celeri Root. This recipe worked very well, I added my personal touch to it by adding dried raisins, it was delicious. Where can I find celery root? 11/09/2006 at 11:09am User: Shawn from Lombard, IL User Rating: Does anyone know where I can find celery root? If so, email me at shawnli87@yahoo.com. Thanks Surprisingly Good 11/09/2005 at 11:32pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I had never had celery root before but like celery so decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I did not have a coarse grate on my food processor so used the medium and I think it came out fine. A nice change from cole slaw. Great Experience 11/08/2005 at 04:43pm User: Aine from Woodstock, CT User Rating: I had never tried celery root before, but the recipe on the show intrigued me. So, I tried it and it was great! Easy recipe, and the dish is wonderfully different and flavorful. We loved it. Flavorful and simple! 10/21/2006 at 08:44am User: Karen from Bolingbrook, IL User Rating: A very flavorful accompaniment to the Barefoot Contessa's crab cakes...sure to please even the most finiky eater! Good but needs a touch of sugar 10/20/2007 at 04:49pm User: Joan from Langhorne, PA User Rating: I enjoyed this slaw but thought the dressing (sauce) could use a bit of sugar to balance the vinegar and mustard. I added about 1 1/2 tsp and thought it was wonderful. Surprisingly Delicious 08/13/2006 at 07:15pm User: Michael from Royal Oak, MI User Rating: So much better than any cole slaw I've had. Finding celery root was a little tricky. I did find it at a local market full of great produce. So this dish was win-win! Great flavors and easy to make. I will make this again for any occasion. hold the mayo 08/10/2006 at 11:50am User: DAVID from Denver, CO User Rating: I prefer Julia's recipe which uses sour cream instead of all that mayo. Much lighter and tastier. Make sure to make in advance so that the mustard has a chance to tenderize the celery root. Magnifique! 07/05/2006 at 01:57am User: Mary from Wheaton, IL User Rating: I first had celery root remoulade when I lived in France, and had never seen a recipe for it until now. This is fantastic! It has such a fresh taste and the sauce is delicious. I had a lot of sauce left over, so I used it on other things. Thanks again to Ina for a wonderful recipe! a new alternative 05/29/2006 at 03:56pm User: MINDY from New Philadelphia, OH User Rating: this is delicious and so healthy and it keeps up to 10 day and still taste the way it did the day you make it. My Mistake 05/12/2006 at 07:03pm User: carlene from lake orion, MI User Rating: I made the Celery Root Remoulade exact as the recipe-except I halfed the sauce.Big Mistake!! My Celery Root Remoulade needed all the sauce the recipe called for.Mine was much to dry but yet good. I will make this again and do it right. Thanks Ina-your great!!!! outrageous amount of mayo 04/29/2008 at 05:22pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Much too much mayo in her recipes. Don't need an every expanding waistline! celery root 03/31/2007 at 10:16am User: Pamela from New York, NY User Rating: It was a fun recipe to make, super easy. There is not a lot of interesting recipes for celery root. If you want to work on your knife skills, cut the celery root yourself. celery root romuolade 01/25/2006 at 07:34pm User: Anonymous User Rating: ew This recipe brings back fond memories 01/25/2006 at 05:11pm User: Ann from Pewaukee, WI User Rating: I first tasted this salad in Paris. I love it, but never seem to make it. Now I will! I think my husband will eat it, although he won't eat cabbage slaw. As I was watching Ina prepare it, I felt that her "eye" for amounts matched my own- when she spooned mustard, it felt like the "right" amount to me. I feel a real connection with her as a cook. Try it with yogurt and walnut 01/18/2007 at 12:23pm User: Anonymous User Rating: This is very similar to a Turkish salad, which we use yogurt instead of mayo and good amount of crumbled walnut. If you have pomegranate in hand, throw a few. Very nice.. Yum. NICE CHANGE 01/16/2006 at 08:06am User: JACQUELINE from Buffalo, NY User Rating: I, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE HAD NOT TASTED CELERY ROOT BEFORE EITHER, SO I THANK INA FOR INSPIRING ME. IT IS VERY FLAVORFUL AS WELL AS CRUNCHIER THAN CABBAGE----FRESHER TASTING, A NICE CHANGE. WE DID NOT CARE FOR THE DRESSING HOWEVER. IT WAS MUCH TOO TANGY & I EVEN ADDED A LITTLE EXTRA HALF & HALF TO MELLOW IT A BIT. IT MIGHT BE GOOD WITH FISH---THE FLAVOR REMINDED ME OF TARTAR SAUCE---INSTEAD OF WITH INA'S ROASTED PORK TENDERLOIN WHICH I MADE. I STILL APPRECIATE THE INSPIRATION OF CELERY ROOT THOUGH & WILL USE IT IN THE FUTURE WITH MY OWN DRESSING IDEAS. |
