This recipe is so easy. I saw it on Paula Deen's show, obtained recipe from foodnetwork.com about three or four weeks ago. I have made it three times. I added more sharp cheddar cheese the last time I made it. My family loves it and they are very finicky. Thanks for a wonderfully quick and tasty addition to any meal. It's grrrrreat. cathrin kowalski

These are pretty good. I agree with the person that said they're a bit dry. Use a pastry cutter and add about 1/2 stick of butter to it and it's better.

Easy & Excellent

User: Gina from Dallas, TX    User Rating:
These biscuits take about 5 minutes to prepare the ingredients. These are a hit, serve them to as many people as you know, they wont' disappoint. Also, be sure to follow Paula's recipe and scoop 1 Tablespoon of mix onto the parchment paper, they will be a great size and will cook in exactly 10 minutes. they might look a little pale right out of the oven but that doesn't mean they are undercooked, take them out at 10 - 11 mins. and brush on the butter mix, they will get browner after doing this. Love these!

Made these last night. My husband and I loved them and I was hoping they would taste like the ones at the Red Lobster. They did exactly. My husband said if I could learn to make the Red. L. slaw, we wouldn't have to ever go there again. Tonight I am making "Bobby's Goulash, Sour Cream Muffins, and the Orange Brownies". Thanks Paula

User: Linda from Panama City Beach, FL    User Rating:
These remind me of the biscuits served at Red Lobster. They turned out excellent, but I cheated. Instead of melting the butter and brushing it and the spices on top, I put them in the biscuit mix. YUM-O. And this recipe is nice and easy to make.

I made a few adjustments. I put the garlic powder right in the batter (since everyone liked garlic). Plus I dropped more than a tablespoon of batter into the baking dish if I didn't they would have been thin like cookies. However I will make them again.

These passed up the "seafood restaurant" biscuits. I doubled the batch the first time - didn't have parchment paper, sprayed the cookie sheet. Didn't have unsalted butter, used less salt. There is not going to be any left for dinner - they are chowing them down. Garlic butter also makes a great dipping sauce.

I have been testing recipes for a tea party I'm catering. I've been looking for a small savory that I can serve in addition to the desserts I'm making. I tried a cheddar/dill scone but found it bland. However, Paula's little gems are fantastic! Super easy and quick to make. I used a little more cheese and added dill. I think they will be perfect little appetizers for my upcoming party. I can't wait for people to try them.

User: Janet from Chetek, WI    User Rating:
When entertaining our 5 children, their spouses, signifigant others, grandchildren, and friends, food is always a focus of our gatherings. Your recipes are usually the ones that the "other" cooks in the family request a copy of. There is some friendly rivalry going on with finding the best recipes. This one, they would not leave the house without. I dare to predict that the french bread with garlic and butter, will no longer be the standard bread of the meal. I have served these a few times, and there are never any leftovers to try making little sandwiches with the left over meat. THANKS these are the BEST EVER

Little effort. Big taste!

User: Beth from New Haven, IN    User Rating:
These were really good! I used the California-type garlic powder which includes the parsley and I added 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder to both the biscuit mix and the butter topping. This was more garlic than the recipe called for and, even though my garlic powder had parsley in it, I added more parsley. Used a little more cheese as well. I made 9 biscuits which needed to bake a few more minutes but I like a little bit bigger biscuit. Great recipe!

The day I made these the only biscuit mix I had contained shortening flakes. Not being much of a fan of something like Bisquick I decided to go with the mix I had on hand. The shortening added more shortening and made the biscuits very moist. Being a GRITS girl I can't stand a dry biscuit and these have the finger licking cheese & shortening. Some may think they are a little too greasey for their taste but not mine.

These had great flavor, but were a bit tough, and they were smaller than I thought-good thing as they were a heart attack on a plate. But...cheesey and garlicky they were.

these were awesome! I made about 12 and there were only 3 or 4 people eating them, and they were gone! they were delicious soaked in chili! perfect next to anything warm and thick and chunky! at first i didn't think the cheese would taste great in the biscuits, but they turned out great (Use milk or cream instead of water)

I made these biscuits last night for my Mom's birthday and they came out fantastic! I doubled the recipe because there didn't seem to be enough dough for enough biscuits. I made the dough before hand and stuck it in the refrigerator. Then, when I was ready to make them, I measured them out onto a greased cookie sheet and put them in the oven. After they were done, I put atleast three coats of the garlic butter mixture on top. They were delicious and the whole family loved them. I wanted to keep eating them but I was so full I thought if I ate one more, I might just burst. This recipe is definetly a keeper! Paula, thanks again for another winner!

Thumbs up!

Paula Knows Biscuits

User: Laura from Arlington, VA    User Rating:
I do not like biscuits. At ALL. But I was making Paula's fried chicken and thought I'd whip some of her biscuits up. My husband took FIVE. I couldn't believe how easy the recipe was (and I even messed up and basically threw everything into the bowl -- I cooked the garlic in the biscuits and it tasted great). A very nice take on biscuits. I'll definitely make this again.

Double the recipe

User: Melissa from Cuyahoga Falls, OH    User Rating:
I decided to try this recipe for my picky eaters. Mostly because I thought it would turn out alot like the bread they serve at a popular seafood resturant. Well, I should have doubled maybe even tripled the recipe because they were gone almost as fast as I got them to the table. And they were better than the ones served at the resturant. I think next time I make them (and I plan on making them alot) I will double the recipe and probably add just a bit more cheese than the recipe calls for.

....this is what I hear from my nephew when he visits. My husband willeat his share too, and he is not a :bread" person. I love these because tehy are quick, I have prepare Paula's original biscuit recipe, but this one is muych easier to do during the week, less measuring to do. I use good buttermilk rather than water, and also more cheese than the recipe call for and a pinch of cayenne pepper. They are wonderful with or without the garlic mixed with the butter. Be adventurous, bisquick mix gives you the option and make it your own.

User: AMBER from chino, CA    User Rating:
I am sorry, but this recipe is just not a winner. I was suspicious when it called for Bisquick. Bisquick always turns out a very bland product for me. But, I figured since there is grated cheese mixed in and with the garlic butter on top then perhaps it would transform something ordinary into something great. I was disappointed by the taste. I even added some garlic salt sprinkled on top and it really didn't help much. I would use any of Paula's other biscuit recipes before using this one again.
