Best Gnocchi Ever! 12/02/2006 at 02:45pm User: Gale from Largo, FL User Rating: Easy to make and delicious to eat. I'm a big gnocci fan and this was the best ever. potato gnocchi 11/20/2006 at 05:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: awesome Watch the salt! 11/04/2006 at 06:44pm User: Philip from Carlsbad, CA User Rating: This was an incredibly tasty dish HOWEVER, watch the salt. The dish was a little too salty having seasoned the mushrooms twice, using chicken stock and then topping with cheese. The stock and the cheese add enough salt to the dish. Made this with store bought gnocchi from Trader Joe's..just as good and much less work than making fresh! Save yourself the time! o.k...it was worth it!! 09/24/2006 at 10:24pm User: Anonymous User Rating: so there was baking, ricing and mixing involved..if you take it in stages it was easy! the hardest part was knowing how to roll the gnocchi off the fork, but it really didn't matter the sauce and gnocchi were the best!!but i did add 1/4 cup of cream to the sauce. Great Meal Choice 07/05/2006 at 10:51pm User: John from rocky hill, CT User Rating: This recipe creates a wonderfully balanced dish. Flavors & textures fuse, creating a wonderful experience for the palate. The key to this recipe is having everything planned out/prepared. Some steps can creep up on you. This pairs well with beef, which makes a nice play on steak & potatoes. Excellent! 06/09/2007 at 04:26pm User: Tamara from Cincinnati, OH User Rating: I cheated and used frozen Gnocchi the first time. it was good but you have to make homemade Gnocchi at least once in your life to really get the full flavor of this dish. It is really good. Fabulous Sugo 05/23/2008 at 09:26pm User: BARBARA from Homewood, IL User Rating: We used morel mushrooms freshly picked and rosemary clipped from our garden. The other ingredients were store-bought, but the flavors and texture of the sauce were superb! Cannot wait to attempt the homemade gnocchi. Mind blowing gnocci 04/10/2007 at 08:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The mushroom sugo was absolutly fantastic. I love gnocci and this dish was better than I had hoped for. All of the flavours worked beautifully together!!! Can't wait to make it again. YUM Would have been better if... 04/06/2008 at 06:38pm User: Kelly from North Providence, RI User Rating: I didn't have fresh rosemary so substtuted w/dried, couldn't find wild mushrooms so I used portabello. Didn't love the sugo. My husband liked y though. Next time I won't substitute. The gnocchi's were tasty though. Worth another try. Amazing Flavor! 03/10/2006 at 03:56pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I made the mushroom sugo and used it over pasta, absolutely delicious. Will be using it over Gnocchi next. Outstanding!!!!! 03/10/2006 at 11:59am User: George from Mukilteo, WA User Rating: I made it for the first time yesterday....we loved it. The difficulty rating is 'expert'....but it's not that hard. just like my aunts 03/07/2006 at 03:28pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Was easy and the flavor was outstanding! Great Recipe 02/23/2006 at 07:46pm User: David from Truckee, CA User Rating: I really like this recipe. I prefer baking the potatoes instead of boiling them. What really made this recipe for me was the "Wild Mushroom Sugo". Although I didn't have any wild mushrooms available, I did use Crimini and the common white mushrooms found in a supermarket. I found they worked quite well. I've tried this recipe several times. The first time I went a little too heavy on the salt. I also added more Rosemary than I should have. The second time I tried the recipe, I definitely cut back on the salt and Rosemary. This makes a big differance in the flavor. If anyone decides to try this recipe, I would recommend that you don't exceed the recommended quantities of the various ingredients. Awesome! 02/17/2006 at 05:04pm User: Amy from Memphis, TN User Rating: OK, I'll admit it; I used store-bought gnocchi, but I made the mushroom sugo and it was FABULOUS! The only reason I didn't give this recipe 5 stars is because I don't know how difficult the gnocchi is to cook yourself, or how it tastes. My husband loved the sugo; we decided it tasted like we'd dined in a really great tuscan restaurant. I will definitely make the dish again for us, and I'm looking forward to making it for company. It wasn't difficult at all! Please check Gnocchi receipes-Your recipe for Gnocchi alone is different than this recipe 02/02/2007 at 06:51am User: Anonymous User Rating: Excellent recipe. I enjoy your show so much. It is like watching a relative cook. Awesome 01/22/2007 at 10:19pm User: Judi from Port Charlotte, FL User Rating: I make homemade gnocchi and it is really easy. You can find a gnocchi board on the net for $3.95 for a proffessional look. Love Michael's recipe, and the sauce was easy and excellent. This is a definite keeper, so if you save in your recipe box, print 1st, as I lost many when they auto. delete them. This is a winner, thanks Michael. |
