These were so tasty and delicious that I started making them 2-3 a week. I agree with others about the cooking time - You need to watch these! I cut the oil down to save on fat/cal. Try them, you WON"T regret it!

The only way to eat Brussel Sprouts

I don't eat many veggies, and Brussel Sprouts are notoriously unpalattable, but I find myself craving these! I have made this recipe again and again because it is so delicious. It's the only way I would ever eat Brussel Sprouts. I think you can skip the pine nuts (which just tend to get burnt anyway), though.

very good

Wonderful Sprouts

My husband does not care for Brussel Sprouts! This recipe looked so good on the program that I decided to try it. I love sprouts anyway you make them. My husband loved this recipe. Next we had two couples over for dinner, and yes, we had this recipe. Now there are six of us who thought they were wonderful. I am planning to make them again during Thanksgiving for the family and we will see how the children like them.

Don't forget to cut them in half first!

User: Phaedra from Houston, TX    User Rating:
I made these last night, and forgot to cut them in half. So, I didn't get some of the crispy, roasted surface area, but they were still the best brussels sprouts I'd had in a long time. The only downside what that some of the outer leaves got a little too brown and dry, and were tough as a result. Depending on your oven, you may need to reduce your cooking time.

Use Frozen Sprouts

User: B from staten isand, NY    User Rating:
After reading all the helpful, hopeful reviews, I decided to use and defrosted frozen (hence very moist) B. sprouts, and halve the vinegar, thus avoiding burning and over-pungent sprout-ism. But, yeah, they gotta be watched or they soak up all the juices and get dry fast. We liked 'em.

Not my favourite way to have brussel sprouts. I felt like the balsamic vinegar overpowered the flavour of the sprouts.

Still couldn't get the kids to eat them!

I really enjoyed this recipe--SO much better than the old steamed brussels sprouts I grew up on! But I still couldn't convert my kids (3&5). Oh well...

These looked so delicious on the show that I just had to try them. I had never made Brussels Sprouts before, but these were delicious. They turned out perfectly - I did substitute sumflower kernels in place of pine nuts, which worked fine.

This was incredibly easy to prepare and tasted wonderful. I did not have pine nuts so I left them out, and I did add a bit of brown sugar. They were a big hit with my family of Brussels sprouts haters!

Makes brussel sprouts taste a little better
03/19/2006 at 09:38pm
User: Sarah from San Antonio, TX    User Rating:
It was okay, would not save any for leftovers, I think my biggest problem was trying to find kosher salt and pine nuts, I ended up using regular salt and sunflower kernels instead. Some were good but you had to figure which ones to choose from for the most part it was still bitter. To some it up, if you like brussel sprouts then you will love this recipe, if not stick with another green veggie

Best One?

I?ve tried to be healthy and versatile in my vegetable choices. Brussel sprouts however, have never tasted good. Boiling, steaming, nothing. While they still (and probably will always) taste like well?like brussel sprouts, this recipe is healthy and the BEST tasting one thus far.

Oh Man! These are spectacular! Better than the boring steamed brussels that I have made in the past! The balsamic vinegar and herbs give it that wonderful kick! I will make this often. My husband loves brussels, begs for them all the time. Well...he was enjoying every bite of these and I know that this will be the favorite recipe from now on! Thanks for sharing this recipe with us George!

Failure

The brussel sprouts burned in the first 20 minute cooking time. The excess marinade burned to a gunky mess in the roasting pan. The sprouts I could eat did not have a good flavor. Overall, I failure. I am happy I made it just for myself. Would have been a disaster had I tried to make it for guests.

Sunflower Sprouts

We priced pine nuts at a national-brand grocer and found 3 oz, about what was needed, was $5, so we decided against them. Instead, we replaced them with (much less expensive) sunflower kernels. When plating, we also sprinkled dried cranberries on the roasted Brussels sprouts. Same result as Becky from Texas: Even Brussels sprout haters loved them.
