Made this for dinner, am an accomplished cook and love most of what Paula makes. This was gloppy and bland. I used fresh crab, 8 oz and ritz with butter, don't know why the eggs, union was raw, I cooked at 350 for 30 min and 400 for 20 in 1 qt casarol. I can't think what I would do to fix this.

I fixed this for myself, freezing half for later use. It was by far the very best crab casserole that I have ever eaten. Melts in your mouth! The frozen half tasted just as good as the original. My friends and family love this.

The most recent review boogered up the recipe so much, how can she tell whether or not she likes it? Based on her modifications, it's hardly recognizable. My hard to please crowd thoroughly enjoyed it, as did I. I will make it again, and often.

I just made it tonight for dinner for my dad and I, it was big hit. He had seconds, it was sooo way easy to make highly recmond esp for lent. I'm going to make again and try mushrooms in it and made less eggs. Paula was on the spot when she said it was good.

I love Paula Deen and most of her recipes, but I won't be making this again. I even read all the reviews before hand and took it to the next level ~ sauted celery,onions & garlic in olive oil before adding, added Old Bay, doubled the crab, used 1/2 the egg, added some fresh dill for flavor... It still tasted like fishy mayonaise. It just wasn't an appealing texture for a casserole. I won't be wasting crab meat on this recipe again.

I made this recipe yesterday and it went together very quickly. But it doesn't taste any more special than a tuna salad or an originary crad salad. I certainly wouldn't call it the BEST ever!

I made this tonight but replaced the crab meat with leftover cooked chicken and it was good. I omited the olives and onion and instead added onion powder, garlic powder, sweet basil and chives. I also used milk instead of half and half as this is what I had on hand. All in all it turned out very well. My family liked it, though we all thought it had a hot chicken salad taste. I will make this one again.

Sorry Paula. I really didn't like the eggs and I did NOT like the olives. I am going to try it cold as someone suggested. Maybe add tuna to it. but then if it isn't better it's going into the round file! yeewww!

There are too many really good crabmeat casserole recipes out there to use this one. Too many eggs, too much mayo, and it's lacking in some spices.

I made this dish for lent and used canned TUNA and it was fantastic!!! I absolutely love most of Paula's dishes and I like to think of her as my "substitute" mom, since mine barely cooks!! I love to follow all her recipes and this one was just great!!! So tasty!!

Loved the negative reviews...gave me a challange. I doubled the crab, used only 5 eggs, added Old Bay Seasoning, and wheat bread to give it a nutty flavor......hey for a casserole it's GREAT this way!

I can't believe some people think that this is good. It lacked a lot of ingredients such as prepared mustard and Old Bay. I wasted a half pound of crab meat on this garbage.

SOrry Paula, love you not this dish. Everyone I gave it to didn'y like it. I brought it to work and no one there even liked it. I agree with others, whre's the crab taste? It looked so inviting but was a disappointement.

This casserole was okay, but not the best. It is lacking something. It does not have enough different flavors in it. The onion really stands out and I think one cup is WAY too much! I don't think I will make this again. I have enjoyed lots of Paula's recipes, but this one just doesn't cut it.

This is a delightful dish. I did use Kanimi imatation crab (Alaskan pollackw/snow crab) instead of canned and added crumbled bacon on tip with the olives. Made individual casserole servings for my guests. The recipe went home with them. Great dish!

I liked this recipe, my husband, mother and friends LOVED it. The almost raw onions throughout the dish were unappealing to me, I'd cook them slightly before making again. I also removed the olives from the recipe, but it worked out great. You should try this one.

Paula I read some of the negative reviews and they must have wacky tastebuds because my wife and I just found it to be excellent. We did, however, melt some mozerella cheese on top and had some rye bread with it. A quick and tasty Lenten special. Thanks

This is about the easiest and simplest crab casserole recipe I've come across. Everybody just loved it and wanted the recipe. Plus, its a recipe you can just breeze through and add to it your own flavor. For instance, I awapped the onions for spring onions (green onions) and also used two teaspoons of WOrchester sauce instead of the parsley and olives. Very much adaptable to your taste.

This doesn't even deserve one star. None of the flavors matched and you would never know there was crab in the dish. It's a hot egg casserole. You're better off just throwing the ingredients in the garbage!

The recipe was terrific, Paula. Afro Americans like very flavorful foods and the following substitutions worked very well: instead of Mayonnaise/Milk, I substituted Ragu Roasted Garlic Alfredo sauce and instead of regular bread croutons, I substituted Stove Top Savory Herb Stuffing Mix. The Boiled Eggs were omitted, but the olives were still included. This recipe can be cooked to match all culture types - it is "just that versatile"!!!!

This recipe needed more crab! It tasted mostly like bread crumbs. I added chopped celery which added great crunch, I would recommend it. Not a horrible dish, but needs some ingredient adjusting.

This truly was the first recipe from Paula's show my family did not like. The taste was awful. I ended up pitching it out. We are crab lovers but lost the taste of the crab...it was better cold than served hot...maybe using more crab and less eggs would have helped...easy to fix, pretty to look at but the taste is what it comes down to in the real world!!

Sorry, Paula --- love you and your show but this one just didn't work. Not enough crab and absolutely too heavey on the mayonnaise and eggs. Plan to play with the recipe, though, since I think with some tweaking it might make a nice party dip along the lines of a hot artichoke dip. Needs some spice too.

It,s taste like dish from South!! ,my husband is from South,so i did watch Paula,s show and since we moved from Tennesse few month ago Ihhhh,let,s cook something southern way,well i did print a recepy and ,but remember Paula say you can add what you want or replace,i did replace crab meat with chicken ,but from can ,but next time i wiil add chunks of real cooked chicken.I did serve on a side apples with cinnamon italian style green beans,but remember (you have to cook them southern way) and corn . WE have wonderfull meal and I am not surprise that some people don,t get it . You have to know how food from South taste . You love it or you don,t!My husband love it!!! and I call my self alien with a southern flavor!!! Thank you Paula great day for you!!and yyooou ooall!!

I agree with the other responses. This is not Paula's best work. Too creamy, not enough crab taste and I even put more crab than it calles for and the olives were too much flavor. The olives were a bit overpowering, though I love olives.

I tired making this concoction two times, once exactly written and once embellished to see if I could recover the flavor. All I ended up with was 1 1/2lb of wasted crab and a stomach ache! The other posts are correct. As written, this has far too much egg flavor and, for me, came out a little soft. Granted, savory cooking is an art and the art is in the eye of the beholder, but some times the flavors just don?t work. This is one of those times. The dish was almost unpalatable. My second batch, I tried taking some of the tips here: old bay seasoning, on an English muffin, etc. It just does not work. The first time it had almost no flavor, save egg. The second time I added corn, old bay, English muffin bread, sauteed the onions in garlic and olive oil with some celery added, used larger lump crab meet, and included the casserole savor ?cheese?. This time it was eatable but still unworthy of the price of crab meet. Please, any one else viewing this recipe, go some other place. This just does not work. The consistency is wrong, the flavor medley is the off and it takes longer to cook than it claims: hungry families are not that patient.

I thought there were too many eggs in this recipe. All I tasted were the boiled eggs. I would use less if I made this recipe again to let the other flavors show through. My husband, on the other hand, went back for seconds and thirds.

I think that it is very good, even through I didn't quite make it the way it was. I was making it from memory and I substituted minced clams instead. and added shredded cheese to it. The next time I make it I'm going to use crabmeat.

After reading other reviews, I varied the recipe a bit. Instead of one 6 oz can of crabmeat I added two. Instead of six hardboiled eggs, I added four. Also, I used my food processor to chop the olives, onion and eggs, making them much smaller that sliced. Then I added a drop of hot sauce. By using this recipe, the consistency was much better, and the casserole more flavorful.

I saw this recipe yesterday, and had to go to the grocery anyway and decided to buy any ingredients I needed. While I was making it tonight a read a couple reviews and added Old Bay Seasoning and only 4 extra large hardboiled eggs. I also used 8 oz. of claw crab meat bought at the fish dept. of the store. It came out wonderful. Not soupy, but firm. Soft bread crumb are simple to do. Just take most of the crust off of italian or french bread and put in the food processer. I will make this often. My husband is my greatest food critic and he loved it.

Great Casserole. Instead of using crab, I used frozen shrimp that has been thawed and cut in half. Eyeball the amount of shrimp. Using more will make it more dense. Also, used about 1/3 -1/2 c. more fresh bread crumbs in mix for a little thicker casserole.

I would recommend this casserole to be served over toasted English muffins or something similar for brunch. It was pretty tasty; however, it was very similar to egg salad mixed with a bit of crab. We would also suggest that instead of salt and pepper, one would use Old Bay.
