"Slaw of the Party"
07/22/2008 at 09:06am
User: Airickca from Olympia Fields, IL    User Rating:
Each time I prepare this recipe for church functions, or parties it is a HIT! I don't eat coleslaw and I love it and this seems to be the concensus when it comes to someone eating slaw who doesn't usually eat it.

Easy and Delicious

User: susan from chagrin falls, OH    User Rating:
Used packaged salad slaw from Sam's,about 14 cups in a bag. This is really delicious and so very easy to make! I tossed just before serving but it might be better to toss and hour prior for a thinner dressing.

It's a hit!

User: Alda from SeaTac, WA    User Rating:
Every time I make this it's a hit. And it's so easy to make! The recipe says put dressing on at the last minute but we saw her do it on TV and she suggested putting it on and letting it sit in the frig. I usually do it the night before. It won't seem like there's enough dressing but if it sits in frig for a while, it will be fine. I made it on a Friday night, took to a picnic on Saturday, served the leftovers on Tuesday for friends and they loved it! Needless to say, it keeps well.

An absolute no-fail hit !!!

I followed previous suggestions by cutting the berries to 3/4 cup and green onion to 1/8 cup. If you don't have relish, cut the mayo in 1/2, and replace the other half with tarter sauce. I also used spicy mustard for a little kick. This is a no-fail recipe!!YUMMY !!!

okay, i have never made anything from the food network before. but after today i will try new recipes all the time. this coleslaw is very good. my hubs is really picky too and was upset when he saw me making it and was like, its gonna taste awful, well guess who had 3 servings tonight at dinner..lol. i just used one package of shredded cabbage and carrot cole slaw (to lazy to cut today), and then i halved the dressing recipe. i wanted some for tomorrow too but guess what, my kids who are all very picky eaters ate theirs too. my 6 year old had 3 helpings too. so i have to make a new batch tomorrow. very good, and different from regular cole slaw. we are having a party in may, i am going to make this in bulk and take it as my side salad. THANKS PAULA. THANKS RENE.

This was a great change from traditional slaw. Although the directions said to add the dressing right before serving, I added it about 2 hrs before so all the flavors had time to mix. It had lots of flavor and my husband who makes his own version of homemade slaw went for seconds! This is going to be made again!

This is such a great change from regular slaw! Even my husband loves the dried cranberries in it, and he's a really traditional slaw eater! Every time I make it, everyone wants the recipe. My family are not green pepper eaters, so I add more celery for crunch plus I snip some chives into it, as I always have a huge pot of chives.

It is a little sweet, but with the unusual additions such as the bell pepper and almonds, it is really delicious. I chose not to include the cranberries, but I don't think I'm missing anything. I'm such a big fan of the "Condiment Girl", I wish we we related!!! Paula Deen Recipes are so easy to follow and delicious!! Rene's Coleslaw I made for a St. Patty's Party at work. I had my doubts about this recipe, because of the Honey Mustard dressing include as an ingredient. I omitted the scallions (because some people don't care for it). I also omitted celery as well and added a green pepper, yellow pepper and red bell pepper. It came out delicious and everyone at work raved about it and it was a big hit!! Even with the Honey Mustard Dressing and the honey as a ingredient, it was the best coleslaw I ever ate!! All her recipes are delicious and she's my favorite host!

This has to be the best coleslaw I have ever made. My family and friends loved it. It was so easy to make, and most of the ingredients were already in the house. I will make it over and over again.

Best ever

This a very refreshing surprise recipe. I expected the tartness of the cranberrys but, the combination of the honey mustard flavord dressing with toasted almonds was awsome. I will continue to make this coleslaw.
