Was great 09/28/2006 at 05:32pm User: Brad from Naperville, IL User Rating: The pork from the recipe from last night made an excellent filling. Filling the wontons does take some practice and if you seal the properly with water then they don't fall apart, plus you only cook them for 4-5 minutes. I have to say the filling was very very good, and the soup was simple, better than my favorite chinese take-out. Fell Apart 09/07/2006 at 08:43pm User: Kris from Livermore, CA User Rating: Like the previous reviewer, my won tons also fell apart, otherwise soup was flavorful. huh? 08/09/2006 at 04:51pm User: KIMBERLY from BUCHANAN, MI User Rating: they fell apart, that's all I have to say 'bout that. not authentic 05/24/2007 at 03:55pm User: Anonymous User Rating: i really can't stand the way she makes wontons.. i think i can make better wontons when I was 10 years old. they weren't even sealed properly. I've never seen anyone makes wontons w/ cooked pork, the filling won't stay together properly. Wonderful Wontons!!! 05/15/2006 at 05:33pm User: Anonymous User Rating: The recipe is so easy, and the soup is delicious! Just OK soup 05/14/2006 at 03:51am User: Anonymous User Rating: Pork mixture was incredibly salty - maybe better next time with low-sodium soy sauce. Also, I'd say to cook this in a large pot. I used a medium sized pot because it was only 6 cups, but the won tons just ended up sticking together and I don't think they cooked as well as they would have if they'd had more floating room. Last but not least, the soup broth was kind of boring with it just being chicken broth, and was better after adding a bit of soy sauce and some sesame oil in at the end. Soup good, wontons gross 05/11/2006 at 08:08am User: CHARLOTTE from north huntingdon, PA User Rating: The soup was good (how can canned broth be messed up), but the wontons were horrible. After cooking the wontons, the dough turned to slime. The garage disposer was fed the whole mess and we went out for dinner. good&easy 05/09/2006 at 02:18pm User: Jill from Macon, GA User Rating: This soup was very easy to make.I love egg drop soup and so I added some egg at the end.Really, the only way it could be better is if I had homeade chicken stock. AWESOME 05/07/2006 at 12:20pm User: Anonymous User Rating: I did the entire Porktastic game plan -the WonTon soup was our favorite - my boys (7&9) loved it-all I had to do was tell them it was noodles with meat in it and they gobbled it up - I hope a cookbook with this same "Game Plan" idea comes out soon - I have a new favorite cook - Thanks Robin Miller! Impressive results but easy! 05/02/2006 at 12:30pm User: Dolores from Boca Raton, FL User Rating: I made this fantastic soup after a full day at the office. It takes little time to prepare because of the small amount of ingredients. Allowed me to use some of the pork roast from Sunday. Wonton's are very easy and quick to prepare, do while broth is heating, drop in for 5 min and then. . wow! Just looked like the soup from our favorite restaurant but it was better. Can't wait to try this with other fillings. Thanks Robin for this special addition to my recipes. An amazing soup 04/29/2006 at 11:59am User: Anonymous User Rating: I have never tried this soup till she made it and i fell inlove with the texture and colorful flavors. So Simple! 04/14/2008 at 10:45am User: Steph from Frankllin, NH User Rating: Everyone loved this easy recipe. I had no problem with falling apart wontons. I used egg to seal with and squeezed, checking for holes. Since the package of wontons left over was large, I made crab ragoons as a side dish with them (just cream cheese, scallions, and canned crab meat in wontons fried in oil). It was a kid pleasing meal! Too much work for end result 03/19/2008 at 03:38pm User: Anonymous User Rating: A lot of work for end result. Easier just to get take out won ton soup. good 02/26/2007 at 09:25pm User: Kim from Bedminster, NJ User Rating: Doesn't fill Bill Easy 01/15/2007 at 02:49pm User: Britney from Flint, MI User Rating: Very easy and filling Lots of Sesame Flavoring 01/12/2007 at 09:17pm User: Anonymous User Rating: Great tasting soup... has a strong sesame oil flavor, so if you don't like it, you should probably steer away from this soup. It is very easy to make however, though my wontons fell apart in the pot because I packed the wrappers too full. Oh well, it'll be better next time. Definately top with green onions! |
